WOYWW 602

Time is flying, and it is  Wednesday again - time for WOYWW  when we share our crafty spaces.... not that there is much happening here.

I finally got my list written for this year's cards and on Sunday morning I got them written...

in bed!  laid out on the duvet  (them, not me)

I really must put a cover on the second half of the duvet (it's one of those dual weight ones so you can mix and match and the lightweight summer bit is now pulled up too... but it should be in a cover really.

I went out on Sunday to post them so hopefully they're well on their way now.   The cards may be sent but there hasn't been a lot of present buying yet - running a wee bit late on that front... good job there aren't many, but I can't say I'm really in the mood this year.

I spent a little while on Sunday testing out some of the gloss paint sprays I got last week - they take a bit of shaking to mix and there is at least one that doesn't seem to have a mixing ball, I've tried stirring it with a stick to loosen it,  but with no luck yet.

I'll give it another go soon (been too tired after work this week)

the colours are good though,  and the on the smaller journal is one of my new stencils (firework bursts) which I like.
(distress oxides for that)

I had a great morning at Kew last Saturday - was lovely to be back again, although now London has gone into tier 3 restrictions I don't know if I'll take up my time slot this week - although as I come under tier 3 here anyway, I am allowed to travel there... will see  how it goes.  The photos are here

what a colour these callicarpa berries are!

Happy WOYWW to you - I'll catch up with your crafty spaces soon.

I have done no cards or presents Helen. Christmas is postponed until it can be done properly. It postpones the wrapping too lol. Loving the berries and journal pages. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Christmas is going to be an odd affair this year, but hopefully not next year! Back to near normal is what I hope for.

I’ll be interested in your further play with the gloss sprays. I’ve heard of them but never with enough detail to make me think NEED THEM! If anyone can convince me I do, it’s you...

Happy Woyww, my enabler!

Morning Helen. Hope you get inspiration for your present buying!! If you don't... well, you can just say you are waiting until you can properly see folks...?! Those berries are amazing - I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like them. Loving the bauble tree, too. I like that firework burst - and the colours on the page are ones I regularly use.
Take care. God bless.

Pleased you made it to Kew but also pleased they are putting London up to Tier3. When watching the TV last night I was shocked by the number of people on the streets, it's sheer madness like Russian Roulette. I understand that people need to work but if we don't control our time mixing with others we will never get rid of this awful virus. Have a lovely WOYWW and stay safe, Angela x12x

Love the baubles hanging in the trees, must get time to look at your other blog to see Christmas at Kew.
Don't envy you having to do Christmas shopping so late, I might be tempted to use Amazon if I were you.
Hugs, Neet 1§6 xx

We had to get organised with cards and presents...I'm not sure our 6 Grandchildren would let us get away without....but, like you, it really doesn't feel much like Christmas this year. Just do what feels right for you...I'm sure you will be forgiven this year.
Hugs,

The baubles in the tree look like the Cali area berries have exploded!! Great pics and such beautiful colours. It doesn’t really feel like Christmas to me either at the moment so you’re not on your own there. The pages are fun, love the bright oxide colours!

I love the stencilling, and gloss sprays sound interesting, the colours are lovely. Hope you get the troublesome one to work. Those berries are stunning, I used to have a Callicarpa in my previous garden but haven't had any luck growing it in this garden so far, which is a shame. Glad you are getting to Kew, I'll pop back later and have a leisurely visit.
Have a good week,

Well, we're used to seeing your work floor and now we've seen your work bed as well! Good job on getting your cards out - that looks like a huge pile to me! I don't blame you for not being in the present buying mood - I only bought presents for the three of us and they're mainly things that we need (except for the crafty things I bought for myself). I don't see the point in buying presents for your second cousins twice removed that they will just throw away LOL! Loving those two last photos, indeed those berries look lush! Hi Helen, agree with you, not really in a Christmas mood this year. Present buying has been minimal, even for each other, but I think we've just reached the point we have what we want/need, along with a healthy dose of can't be bothered! Regarding the paint spray, try dropping in a bead or ball bearing, that might help it mix better. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #6 X

Totally sympathise with the whole Christmas thing but we are a small crows (5) so we are going to make the best of it. Will be a shame not to see the rest of the family but its for the best, be stupid to fall at this late hurdle after all this time. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your paint spray - mind you that does sound messy and liable to clogging!! Have a lovely week, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #26

Hi Helen hehee lovel the idea of writing Christmas cards in bed - I'd need a little table full of coffee to go with it I think though. Glad you went back to working on the floor to try out your new supplies though! Have a good week :) Annie C #28

Helen, I love the cards! You crack me up on lying on the bed! I laughed out loud on that one! :) I so enjoy playing with new product when I get it and it looks like you are enjoying as well! I love sprays and those look like yummy colors! Although I would be a little ticked about the missing balls!! Seems like I always get the sprays where the nozzle doesn't work! LOLOL Those berries are gorgeous and I really love the last photo! So so cute! Blessings to you Helen! Felicia, #31

I love that you’re writing cards in bed, now that’s got to feel decadent and Christmassy and a treat! Would for me. My two duvets popper together so go in the same cover, but it’s been a couple of years since we bothered to separate it, I assume as we feel perfectly warm under it now, that in the summer, we were kicking it off! Running behind is Ok for the presents, being a bit last minute is always a nudge to feeling festive for me. Shame about tier 3...I know you’re careful, but please take care. Will Kew even be open? The calicarpa berries are incredible, and although I love the tree filled with big baubles, they aren’t a patch on nature are they.

Thanks for your visit, Helen, and I'm sorry my blog treated you as spam again... Again, I've OK'd you so let's hope it sticks this time. Glad you like the kitty squares. This is turning into a really fun project - it's a shame I won't have time to finish it in time for Christmas. Our GP surgery has definitely gone down hill in the past couple of years since it became a subsidiary of a larger one. It's just one more frustration to be added to the ongoing hospital one!

Great job on the cards! I think I've sent out/given over 50 cards. I'm back in the card making mode as I've run out!
As to your spray, maybe a small pebble?
Love the yellow/orange pages, those colors appeal to me.
Love the berries and the balls in the tree!
Thanks for popping by!
Have a great week!

The berries are amazing which proves that nature always gives the best colours! I have very few presents to give this year but you’ll have seen that I am making bags for every one.

Hi Helen, we are the opposites - I've bought all my presents, but not written cards - mainly because I haven't made them yet! My aim is they will all be made, written and posted by Saturday latest! I'm really not in the Christmas mood this year - but I think I will be when I see my family on Christmas Eve. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #30

Well done on the cards! I've done most of mine and even posted some off, but there seems to be a shortage of stamps! Kew looks lovely, lovely pictures, even in winter. I have been, but it was a very long time ago! Have a great crafty week. Stay safe! Thank you for my snoop! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #24

Callicarpa Berries, that's that they are called. A friend posted a FB photo of some from Wisley the other day and I'd seen some for the first time on a walk around Nork the other day. So I'd asked on the FB post but promptly forgotten. Saw them again today and couldn't remember the name and voila your post answered the question. YAY, noted it down this time Phew!
Oooo love the bauble tree, super colourful
I'm not really in the mood this year either, same most years really, but thankfully don't have to travel anywhere this year. Covid or not my Mother disowned me last Christmas so I won't be staying there EVER again anyway.
Merry Christmas if either of us are not around/forget next week BJ #25

Fab photos again, with a lovely collection of cards too. I've popped over to Twitter to catch your other Kew photos. I'll look forward to seeing more of them in 2021 when this craziness hopefully diminishes. Gardens have been a godsend haven't they. Christmas hugs from Sue #20

Oh Helen, I love your bottom photo of the pretty colored balls on the tree. I use to do this when I lived in town. BUT here our winds are preventing so many things. Had a great week with NO WIND and missing the snow, all south of us.
Nice to have the cards done ! I'll have a few stragglers but that's ok
I am keeping my winter crafty stuff out and will work on projects for next year. Seems I will be having HOME time extended. Our area is a mess with Covid, so being safe. Have a good weekend. Stay safe and Enjoy nature. Thanks for your visit

Thanks for your visit to mine, Helen! Good job getting all your cards done and mailed. I am also caught up on that for the first time in forever. I have a few more gifts to buy, and then I will declare myself "done"! Good luck with your shopping. Your journal looks like you've been having lots of fun! And the photo of those berries - WOW! Isn't nature wonderful! Have a lovely week, Lindart #33
