WOYWW 584

Morning fellow deskers and welcome to another WOYWW    It's that time of week when we meet at the Stamping-Ground with Julia to share our crafty spaces

It has been far too hot to do anything much on my week off, not got round to sorting the  Paperartsy stamps yet and I am glad I didn't book any timed slots anyway I would normally go on a week off, it would have been unbearable to be out and about - shopping was bad enough.  the main reason I didn't book anything (apart from the forecast which was thunderstorms that haven't happened yet,) was to avoid travelling on trains that will be busier than the Saturday ones to Kew

I did play with one of the new stamps from last week though in my journal

when I was out on Monday I went into Smiths and bought a few extra Pitt artist pens including some metallic ones

the Sizzix package is a metal plate for die cutting intricate dies and according to friends who have it, works a treat

Last Saturday's trip to Kew can be seen here

I left before it got too  hot!

I'll drip around to your desks soon!

Hope you've enjoyed your week off Helen, the weather has been way too hot though, thunder storms have just passed here but did not last long.
That's a beautiful stamp, I brought a boxed set of those pitt pens for my Mom a couple of years back, i'm not sure she's ever used them just likes looking at the box :/ You'll find the sizzix metal plate worth every penny it really does hit those sweet spots every time.
Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx

Happy WOYWW. Hope it cools down for you soon. It has been relatively cool in Pembrokeshire - another time when we are glad to live so far west. I love that journal page. Ali x #5

I agree about the weather, just too exhausting. Relax and enjoy the rest of your week of.

Hope you still enjoyed the week off even if you didn't get to go to Kew more often Helen. I don't blame you for avoiding the weekday trains. Love the page in your journal. I don't have any of the FC metallic pens so I will have to look out for them. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #9

Hi Helen, I know what you mean about the heat, I go all feeble from around midday until 4pm and have to move around the house to find the coolest spot. Love your AJ page with the new stamp, great colour combo, and another great picture of Kew in the relative cool of the morning. We're off to Felbrigg this morning, we have booked an early slot so we will avoid the hottest part of the day. Happy WOYWW and enjoy the rest of your break :o) Annie C #11

You had all the hot weather and we got a bit and then the dreadful thunderstorm. it was the most scary I have been in (tucked up in bed thank goodness).
Love the latest PPA stamp you got, what a fab image.
Can understand you not going into Kew, must have been hard to stay away but sensible.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Hi Helen, I have the Sizzix plate, and it really is good especially with intricate die cuts. Totally agree it's just too hot for doing anything at all.I really don't like this much heat, I struggle in hot weather, not enough oxygen in the air. Must have a look in our Smiths next time I get to go over town. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #4 X

Super page, I love it! That letter border really frames it well. I don't blame you for not going anywhere in this heat - I'm just trying to survive as it is! I would love to take a dip in that lake! Thanks for your visit, Helen, just hang in there until cooler temperatures arrive! Why can't we mix winter with summer - it would be perfect! xx zsuzsa #19

Agree Helen it is far too hot even here in Spain. Thunder and lightened here last night but no difference to the heat today. Hope you enjoyed your week off I'm sure you could find something to do indoors. Ani 23

Hi Helen, happy WOYWW. Your journal page is great and I like that stamp. Weather forecast says more storms coming, perhaps it will cool things down Angela #23

Drip is the word!! That metal plate looks a great idea, I had not heard of that...mind, am so seriously out of the loop these days. I think it’s worth a try that one, some of my Christmas dies are pretty detailed and I dont want to avoid them again this year if I dont have to. Consider me enabled!! Love that PA stamp in your journal, very useful for draping across and down things! Think you’re quite right to avoid Public Transport during working week if you dont have to use it, although wouldn’t it be lovely right now to be lying in the shade next to some water!! No storms here, whatever the weather peaople say, we seem to be in a pocket of avoidance!

I'll have to check out the metal plate. I have lots of intricate dies. Your journal page is really cool! At least you got a little time at Kew. Our heat has been record breaking, only out when necessary or early mornings.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great week!

Hope you had a good week off but it really has been too hot to do anything much. I like sunshine but this heavy humidity not so much. It also seems to make all my joints swell up! DD said the trains weren't too crowded yesterday - just takes so long. Essentially she has to go from here to Hayes, then to Reading, then South to Camberley. Sounds ridiculous, but to go in to town and then south takes just as long and she wouldn't get reimbursed for the journey into town. And she has to wear her mask all day at work. I like that stamp, very unusual but I can't place it. I didn't realise you did die cutting... what's a foot there then? Stay well, stay safe, Cindy #15

What a shame its been too hot to get out and about much on your week off - especially with Covid about - the thought of busy trains etc would put me off too. I have been happy to find somewhere cool and read for an hour or two - except yesterday when we had a full on day with ben in the garden! I love the journal page - each one is such a little work of art. xx Jo

Hello Helen! I am feeling the same here. It's been hot for way too long. Today is the first day in over a week, that I am able to sit out on our deck to work. The weekend is supposed to be comfortable. I look forward to it because I am so tired of hunkering down under AC for days!! Your new stamp looks really pretty. I have a cuttlebug and have had it for over a decade. I would love to get the bigger sizzex so I can use the magnetic plate and cut my dies but I can't bring myself to buy one when this one still works. I hope the weather improves. Stay well, my friend!

Sorry, been too zonked out by the heat to sit at PC in my room which is the hottest in the house. Considering I don't have the heating on in here all Winter, I'm really struggling!!
Great journal page and hope the Sizzix metal plate works well, intricate dies can be a real pain sometimes.
Looks like I will opt for surgery which means even more social distancing so no trips to The Works. Bit disappointed with first jigsaw as it looks like they cut it before the glued picture was completely dry as it's got lots of split bits (hard to explain) hope the others aren't like that, never had a problem before.
Thanks for the visit BJ#6
