WOYWW 499

Well good day to you all and Happy Boxing Day!    I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day yesterday,  whether you were with family or loved ones, or celebrating by yourselves.

I am scheduling this because I am going to be at my brother's for Christmas Day and today so not sure what time I'll be home to link up...   and I am assuming there will be a WOYWW today anyway!

my pile of gifts all wrapped and ready to go to Richard's...

I forgot to point you last desk day to the post about our office Christmas party (which was here)

but I also (of course) had another morning at Kew last Saturday (avoiding the madness in the shops with last minute shoppers)  and that is here

I leave you with my sunny kitchen window sill and a couple of festive Poinsettias, one I bought and one I brought home from the office Christmas window display.

Not sure how long I'll be able to keep them alive as they are notoriously picky but I've given them a drink to hopefully see them over my Christmas break at least!

I'd just like to thank Julia for hosting this amazing desk sharing each week, and hopefully next year I will have "proper" things on the floor to share with you (not holding out any hopes for a proper desk, yet, although my knees would appreciate it)
See you next week for the big 5-0-0.  Happy WOYWW

Those poinsettias are fabulous.

Don't faint. I saw you would not be available to link to Julia, so I did it for you. Turn about is always fair play, dear. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your brother and SIL. Sorry I didn't stop by to wish you greetings on Christmas day.

I’m echoing the others, the poinsettia are gorgeous. I took a really big gorgeous one to my mum at the beginning of the month and brought it home on Christmas Eve, utterly naked of leaves, just stems! it was damp, but I think the home is just too warm, I should’ve known better really! I’ve put it on the kitchen windowsill but don’t expect it to survive in my hands!! I hope you’ve had a lovely day with your bro and his brood, you certainly took em a lot of pressies! As for the desk, we’ll, if you wanna show it, we wanna see it....please!!

Scott came by just a couple of weeks before December because I wanted to link to Art Journal Journey and Art Every Day Month. He spent quite a bit of time doing what he says was NOTHING, then rebooted and I was able to link anywhere I chose after that. It has been an honor to link you after you so kindly did it for me for several/many weeks on end. Your friendship means the world to me (and I love your photos, too!).

Hi Helen, I hope you had a lovely time at your brothers. Your office Christmas outing looked great fun, and love your dress! Good luck with the poinsettas, I am not at all green fingered, I spare house plants the misfortune of getting acquainted with me. Thanks for stopping by earlier, and your kind comments on Emily's quilt. Sheer determination meant I got one finished for Christmas, the other two will follow soon I'm sure. Have a lovely week Heather x #14

Hope you enjoyed your family time away Helen? I wish you luck with those poinsettia's, will be interesting to see how they both fair. My Mom is great with plants, she has the knack just like my Grandad did. She has kept last years poinsettia going. Thank you for all the blog support over the past year, it's really appreciated, here's to 2019 Cheers!! Tracey #7
P.S I was hoping you would receive a desk for Christmas :-*

Love the poinsettia too, Helen. I wouldn’t have them right next to a window upat njght especially as they hate cold, so if draft or cold where they are move at night and warm light spot in day si key, plus watering when dried out, ours grow outside here, of course, and flower in winter not summer.
Hope you get a desk, def need one, I’ve a standing desk and really like it very much as like to stand over my work, I sit down to colour and do fiddly bits that’s all.
Happy belated Christmas and WOYWW, Shaz in Oz. X#5
