WOYWW 497 or, it's beginning to look a lot like....

Well that week went fast didn't it!  Here we are again, grouping for roll call at Julia's  time to share desks once more.

I can't share any more of the final version of these cards, as the recipients may happen to see...

I managed to do my Christmas shopping at the weekend, I think I have got everything... even put a couple of gifts in the post...

The Christmas card-writing fairy failed me whilst I was out shopping, so I had to write them myself...

This was the pile ready for posting on Monday morning....  they should be well on their way by now.

but I'd run out so there is another little pile in progress for the last few needed (I hope!)

and, the true sign that Christmas is just around the corner - the double issue of Radio Times, Christmas tv guide...

Am marking off what I want to watch and/or record.... had a surprise phone call from my brother on Sunday whilst I was out shopping, and am invited for Christmas day (and to stay overnight)  so anything I really want to watch I will set to record
Visiting my brother  will be great, for the last few years I've been here, cooking solo Christmas dinner (nothing wrong with that, no-one to fight for the remote control) but company at Christmas is always better and even though my niece and nephew are now quite grown up, it will be good fun.

Looking forward to seeing what you've all been up to - I would love to think there will be some non-Christmas crafting to share by this time next week; I am quite ready for something other than Christmas cards!  I can feel a journal calling me....

Your desk most certainly is more interesting than mine lol. Nice that you will have company this Christmas. Well done on being way ahead of me with preparations. Look forward to seeing non Christmas stuff. Happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting. Sarah #3

Yep it's certainly a sign that Christmas is coming with that Radio Times and full swing with those cards and prep. I've done little of anything but feel exhausted. I'll be like a bull in a china shop when I go do my Christmas shopping!

Hope you have a lovely time at your brother’s Helen. We are on our own this year and not doing anything. Last year I cooked the full works just for my hubby and me but not doing it this year as I haven’t got the energy! We are both having at least one Christmas dinner out so not bothering. The only thing I miss from not doing it is the turkey carcass afterwards because I do love making all that tasty and nutritious soup! I love the look of your semi-revealed card at the top - most intriguing and interesting texture too.

So glad you are spending Christmas with family - you shouldn't be on your own on Christmas Day even though you have control of the remote.
You look to be far more ready than I am - have a wonderful week leading up to the Big Day.
Hugs, Neet xx

Hi Helen. You've just reminded me that I must pick up my copy of the Radio times. I find them more difficult to work out what I want to watch now as there is much more in them but it's a tradition to have one in the house so I'll get it anyway. Looks like you've been busy and still are so good luck in getting everything completed. Happy woyww and hugs too, Angela x15x

Morning Helen. Goodness - the double issue, out already!! I confess to never bothering with it these days - for 30 years we didn't have a TV at all, so ... Good efficient piles there on your "desk" - hope everything gets done so you can get back to journaling:-)
Take care. God bless.

It is a Christmas event getting the Radio Times - we got ours the other day! That's lovely you're going to be spending Christmas Day with your brother and his family, nice for a change eh? That Christmas card fairy is slacking this year, she didn't do mine either......

Hi Helen, glad you’re have ng Christmas with family that’s wonderful, and no card writing fairy here, but not it would do me anyways, like the personal touch. It’s an impressive pile I had to get more money out for stamps, every year it shocks me. You’d think I would know by now! ;-)

Looks as though you are almost there with the cards (no thanks to that idle fairy), well done... and all presents bought too - impressive. I'm nowhere near, and now I'm feeling under the weather so I'm very bah humbug about the whole thing at the moment! How nice to have a Christmas Day to save you the cooking, not to mention the company, of course. Hope you have a brilliant time.

You are way ahead of me! I still have to write my cards, post them, and I have bought only one present so far, although I have been busy making DD's present which hopefully I will finish today! Your card peek is intriguing, hopefully you can share later on?
It will be so nice for you to have company on Christmas, and someone else to do the cooking! Have a great week, Lindart #20

Hi Helen,I am so impressed that you get a paper version with a show listing in it. ( our TV's here have gone to having a channel that just lists them digitally, so its not as fun to look at I am sure guessing by the art on the cover.) and that is very well done of you to have all those things already in the mail. ( I have not even started a single envelope, it is my most un-favorite part of being a card maker is mailing them out) ~Stacy #22

Hi Helen, I ran out of cards too and after an afternoon with my little visitor yesterday I was too tired to do much more than think about cardmaking in the evening. Will try to make a bit of headway today. How lovely to be invited to your brother's for Christmas - as you say, Christmas solo is okay but much better in company. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #18

I’m late, sorry! Thank you for the card, it is lovely, how I wish I could write like JoFy! Don’t blame you about the need to not do cards anymore, that’s really quite a large pile you’ve made. I must say that having only made a dozen or so, I actually feel I’ve missed something! Happy that you have a plan for Christmas, that will be nice. I’m with you though, a day to ourselves to really do just as we like and probably not set foot outside is a very attractive proposition!!
