WOYWW 493 - not a lot

Oops, here we are at Wednesday and I've done nothing more to my Christmas cards and have nothing to show.  Show?  for WOYWW - desk sharing fun hosted by the lovely Julia at the Stamping-Ground
Apart from some shopping from when I went to the Imperial War Museum last Saturday -

a beautiful poppy scarf, a postcard of the poppy display there, and a leather bound hand-made notebook.

the bag they put it in was quite interesting too.

the photo is a bit bright as I used the flash, and the leather is a little darker than it seems.

it's a dinky little thing!!

I shared lots of photos from Saturday on t'other blog - here if you want to see all of them (including some other places I visited too)

but here are a few of my favourites

they look so beautiful

Morning Helen. Funnily enough, I am wearing the poppy scarf that I bought when visiting the poppies in my home town. They look fabulous at their final installation. If that handmade journal is anything like mine, one coat of clear gesso on the hand made paper and the pages will take plenty of paint and ink. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

The Poppies are incredible, time seems to stand still for me every time I see them. Your take home treasures are lovely, you'll always remember when you brought that handmade diary.

Hi Helen, I love the poppy displays they are getting more and more artistic. Loving the collection you brought home, great finds. The one thing I don't like about this time of the year is the difficulty in getting a good photo. Happy woyww, Angela x16x

I'm sorry to say it's a copied and pasted comment today to let you know I've visited you and read your blog. My ipad isn't playing nicely and wont let me comment on many of the blogs and I am unable to sit for long sessions at the lap top with my painful hip.
Hugs,

Isn't it funny how sometimes the bags are just as good (or even better!) than whats inside? The scarf looks beautiful, and that cute little journal looks like it will be fun! I love spewing poppy pics - awesome! Have a great week, Lindart #29

Hi Helen, Love your buys from the War Museum. The photos are fab.

Both my grandads fought in WW1 and both came home, although my dad's dad was shot in the leg.

Off to check out your other blog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hi Helen. Thank you for the visit this week. Always a pleasure. And for the kind wishes for my sister. She's doing very well. Not having had chemo first is helping, I'm sure. I had to go look at the other post to see where your pictures were from and what was spilling from the window. What an incredible display! My mom always sold poppies for the VFW on Veteran's Day. Never missed a year from the time she began until the day she passed. Creative Blessings! Kelly #27

What a perfect place for the poppies - they look splendid - and I'm glad to see you managed a decent haul, even though it's mostly not crafty stuff!
