WOYWW 486

Welcome to another week of desks... Julia is hosting, as always - catch the link here
I'll be late this week getting to your desks - and linking too, as I am off work for a week and taking an early trip to Kew today so unless Julia is really early, I will miss when the post goes live and have to catch up later.

but, you're here for a desk.. not that I have one of course; still working on the floor.
the stencils I was waiting for last week arrived, and have been tested already... should have included the results... hang on I'll see if I can find them

(more stencils you say... yes. . what of it.... there can never be too many stencils)
aerial shot of the tatty rug and my France Papillon journal (page doesn't really fit the theme but it's another one finished...)

here's the test of the harlequin stencil.  was only playing so it's not meant to be fabulous.

Anyhow, I will visit your desks when I can,
catch up later!

Hope you have a great week Helen and enjoy your trip(s) to Kew the weather is going to be perfect for it I believe.
The glory of stencils is that they do not take up much room, it's very easy to collect them without realising the amount we have but i'm with you on the addiction.
Really don't know how your craft on the floor, i'd never be able to get back up again hee hee..
Happy WOYWW Tracey #4
P.S good result with the stencil, look forward to seeing more.

Hi Helen, you may be working on the floor, but that Harlequin page is amazing, did you paint through each space , one at a time?
Hope you have a fabulous day out.

I've recently purchased that harlequin stencil too - I love how you did two colours with it - haven't figured that out yet but looking forward to playing with it soon! Enjoy your week off and have a great day at Kew - what perfect weather for it.

I like the stencils, especially as you actually use them. I seem to just collect them, so have stopped buying them for now. Hasn’t the two colour on the harlequin come out really well - was it a bit fiddly to add the second colour? Hope you’re having a marvellous week off, my word, you cant seem to get the early mornings out of your system, huh!! Mind you, Kew will be glorious today, it’s a perfect Indian Summer’s day.

Your journal page looks awesome - I can see lots of texture there! You are right, one cannot have too many stencils (I just ordered some new ones myself!) The Harlequin stencil is gorgeous! Have you heard of the THoltz shifter stencils? They sound like fun! Happy fall, have a great week, Lindart #21

OK I admit that I have those stencils too Helen. Of course I haven't got round to trying mine out yet. I do like the double colour effect though. Have a great week. I can't believe I was earlier than you this morning. Sarah #2

I haven't really kept up with the whole Shifters thing... great to see those Harlequins in action - they look pretty fabulous to me. I like the look of your FP page too, and a tatty rug is a sign of a creative life!

Once again, I have stencil envy. I adore that harlequin stencil. It's fabulous and I adore how you colored it. It looks like art to me!

The harlequin stencil test may not be meant to be fabulous, Helen, but it is...fabulous!! Love it, love the colours. I agree about stencils - love them and need more! I can’t think how you manage working on the floor - I would probably never be able to get up again haha! And far too uncomfortable for me. I think you are the only deskless desker on here... Thank you for your lovely comment - I must have missed Paul and the sourdough. I only started watching bake-off about 3 years ago and then realised all the fun I’d been missing and wished I’d seen them all. I think Paul is giving far too many handshakes these days - they are getting quite commonplace!! The standard of baking is anything but commonplace though. If I ever got on there I’d be chucked out in week 1. My stuff tastes great but wouldn’t win any beauty contests - apart from my bread which looks better than my cakes. Thanks for your good wishes re my scan.

Well done on the stencilling - I would be hopeless! Give me a needle and thread any day. It was lovely to see all the clever stuff the paper crafters were doing at the crop. xx Jo

I haven't bought (or played with) stencils for a while... I might get them out and make some prints this weekend but maybe not... I found out that some ways of creating 'come in waves' to me - I can create with stencils for weeks and then suddenly it is 'over' and they stay in the closet for weeks (or months.) I do love the harlequin stencil and result! I'm late 'doing the round' as it's always weekend already... enjoy! Marit #8

Love that HARLEQUIN stencil and its results. Same for your page in your journal too.
Did wonder why you were missing from the top three or so in the list - hope Kew was worth it but no doubt your other blog will show me it was. Your photography is amazing each and every time.
Hugs Neet (who was later than you at 27 - didn't get home until 3 am this morning - shot at) xx
