WOYWW 474

Come on England.....
sorry,  I mean welcome to another WOYWW (writing this watching the World Cup on Tuesday night.)
journal page on the mat is last week's so far unfinished ALAD/ASAW page.. using my birthday neon paints...  loving them!  I will be toning down the page soon...

in the wicker basket below and left of the tv is the empty Kew gin box... obviously the bottle is in the fridge, that isn't empty yet!!  I love the box, it is very pretty and will be using it somehow for something... I have sampled the gin, it is very nice!
Wishing my American friends a very happy 4th of July.   Catch you at a desk near here very soon...

edited after the end of the game... woo hoo England won a penalty shoot out...
Plans for the weekend have now changed, was going to the Hampton Court Flower Show on Saturday but that's when we play next, so will go on Sunday so I can watch... and may, just may, squeeze in a quick trip to Kew on Saturday morning...   Happy days!

You Europeans and your soccer. Somehow, that doesn't seem to be as popular in the US, so I wish your team well. Even though the World Cup (FIFA) is being telecast on US TV, we have no team in the event.

Those are bright neons. They look colorful to say the least.

I can't believe you would give up the flower show for SOCCER (grin). Have a great Wednesday. I'll have a number when Julia wakes.

Morning Helen.. Happy days for England well done to us.
Love this long shot of your Crafty bits and those neons are a great colour to wake up too. Enjoy Saturdays match and *Keep Calm!!*...
I'm surprised that Gin survived after yesterdays match.. hee heee!!

Definition of football:
Brown pigskin ovalish shaped ball
Four downs allowed in 10 yards advancement
Touchdown provides 6 points
1 extra point if ball kicked between goal posts
2 extra points if carried over finish line

Soccer
Round black and white ball
Unknown rules and regs, but kicking and hitting it with the head appears to be acceptable
Goal is made in a big net

See the difference?? PLEASE LAUGH!

First a request: Please can we have a proper picture of the box that the gin came in? right, that is over.
You look like you have a busy, er, desk ... love the brightness of that journal.
When it came to a penalty shoot out my other half went outside and left me to watch for him. I noted all the goals and misses and then went out and with a solemn face just shook my head, Then I told him and he leaped in the air, We then had to go in and he watched all the penalties once he knew they had won. Men! and their football!
Hugs, Neet x

Morning Helen, glad you got the result you wanted, afraid the only sport that gets me vaguely enthusiastic is rugby, and only when Wales is playing.
Those neon are certainly bright, enjoy!

That game. Couldn’t watch, couldn’t tear myself away. Argh! Love the neon paints, they really are lovely and bright, certainly they draw the eye in your pic! Like the idea of Hampton court o. Sunday..it will be a great way to celebrate or a soothing consolation!!

Enjoy the footy my friend. It’s on here too and I’m watching it but only cos there’s nothing else on lol. I must admit I did rather enjoy last nights game though.

I didn't watch the game - superstition, we never win when I watch lol - heard the whoops from the garden so checked score. Yay! A goal!! Should have known better, more whoops....... equal. Oh no penalties!! So I refused to look again until hubby came home from watching match down the pub. What a relief. On the other hand, do I really want to hear 3 Lions again?......
Great looking journal, can just envisage you sitting there amongst all your product drinking gin and watching the footie ... not a bad life is it? Happy WOYWW Cindy #19

I had noticed the news had changed a bit! PJ is not a sports fan so I don't get to see much of it on tv.... bothered? a bit maybe but not enough to impose my will.
Love those neon colours, DO NOT TONE THEM DOWN! They are gorgeous!
Have an exciting footy week

I missed yesterday's match (I watched them all... almost!) because of a party but checked out who won when I got home late at night... CONGRATS!!! Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland (who isn't part of the worldcup games so I can cheer for whoever I want now!) Marit #22

I haven't been watching the football but I guessed England had done something spectacular when I heard loud whooping and cheering from the houses around me as I sat in my garden last night!!
The Gin box looks interesting - there's some beautiful packaging out there that's just too good to throw away - I'm sure you'll put it to good use soon.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy the Hampton Court Flower Show won't you, I look forward to seeing some more of your amazing photos.

Hi Helen, I'm not really a lover of soccer, this is a rugby household Lol! not that I'm really bothered about that either but you try to show some interest Lol! The colours on your journal page are gorgeous, been thinking I need to brighten things up a bit. Enjoy your weekend and have a great woyww, Angela x10x

HI Helen, :) I am grinning over your fan stories. love the colors on the journal so far and I could not tell you what was a gin box if you smacked me upside the head with it lol. I tend to only have my glasses on when I am staring at numbers on the screen at work all day. The Americans I know who are following the games are excited they are actually playing them here this time around. ~Stacy #36

LOL What fun, that you are going to the game! Our son is a great fan of it, and never misses watching it. I guess one computer for his work and one for the World Cup! Happy WOYWW! #36

Hi Helen, I'm sure you cheering them on last night must have helped them get through and there can be no bigger fan if you are willing to alter your plans for the weekend. For me, they are competing with Wimbledon but I will do my best to keep up. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #32

Talk about a nail biting match! Such relief when for once we didnt fail the penalties (I couldnt watch - far too tense). Love the bright colours on that journal page and I look forward to seeing the finished page. Thanks for sharing. Caro x (#38)

I'm not watching the soccer but DH is! I often hear him yelling at the ref (he used to ref soccer!) I did see a you tube video of a very flamboyant referee that was great! Have fun, I hope your team wins! Your desk looks lovely and busy - so much nicer than mine! Have a great week, Lindart #41

Wow! Love that neon page! I love neons but don't use them much! I still have to catch up on Kew and now you say you are going to Hampton Court too!! Hugs, Chrisx

Not much of a soccer fan but I guess also because NL isn't playing this time it's not as much fun to watch the games. No desk shot for me this week, catching up on everyone just to say hi as the whole week just rushed by in an eye blink!! Thanks for stopping by last week xo Cheetarah

Happy Belated WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit. Football - being avoided in our household. We are F1 and cycling fans, so a busy weekend in front of the tv, with the British GP at Silverstone (we could not go this year, as Rich cannot get away from the farm) and the Tour de France starting. I will be having to find some crafty projects I can do in the living room for every afternoon for the next 2 weeks, as I like to watch as much of the cycling live as possible. May even get the knitting needles out! Ali x #27 (ps I have a discount code for Bon Marche, if you would like to shop online - I ordered 3 dresses to try in their sale today - email me at teddybob@live.co.uk)

Well, I guess you're doubly happy with today's result to add to the penalty shoot-out win! Looking forward to seeing that neon page close to once it's done, though I may need my sunglasses for it... Hope you're having a lovely weekend.
