WOYWW 477

Hi, welcome back for another WOYWW.. it's still way too hot here and of course I was away at a friend's in York last weekend (pics from the weekend here)  - so no crafting has been done.

York is such a beautiful city with loads of history.  I implore anyone who hasn't, to go if you can. I love it there.

So, no crafting as I said, but shopping was done (yes, the pre-order I mentioned last week are the new Distress Oxides - still waiting for them)  but one order has arrived...
the new Paperartsy Fresco paints... 12 new colours (well, 11 new and one re-introduced but I already have some left so only needed to buy 11)

Looking forward to a play if - as they say - it is going to be cooler at the weekend (by cooler they mean a few degrees and possibly "only" 24 degrees. )
and a close up so you can see the colours a bit better!

Heatwave permitting, I'll be round to visit your desk soon!

I really feel for you. There is NO way I could go without AC. It just isn't possible.

I was looking over your new paints and actually spotted those two tubs of Paper Artsy paints. You have more paint than one can even imagine. Well more than I can imagine!!!

No number yet, and I'm just finishing my own post. But you'll probably know where to find me.

No heatwave up north. Now I know why some folks on the course at weekend were as "brown as berries" and I was just sporting a mild (fading) tan.
I agree re York, it is a beautiful city and people are missing out if they don't ever pay it a visit.
I hope to see you using those new colours of paint so I know what they are and what they look like - also what goes with what. Then there are your new ink pads - I haven't got around to ordering any but no doubt will have to pick one or two up before long.
Hugs, Neet xx

Morning Helen, ooo new paints what a sight to see and lots of new blues and yellows if my eyesight serves me right which means discovering new shades of green... I have a thing for paints and creating colour can you tell hee hee!?
Sounds like you had a great week end away & i'm sure you have taken away lots of inspiration from that beautiful city.
There will be no stopping you when the heatwave has had it's day or weeks in our case.

I love York! We used to live 20 mins away by train (Northallerton) so used to pop down all the time - it's the back streets I like best and all the snickets too. I'm glad you had a good time, the photos were great esp the Kings Cross roof, wow!

I used Frescos for the first time at my Bucket workshop...they are lovely I must say. York pics are fab missus...you should submit some for consideration as postcards. Keep meaning to suggest that for Kew too.

Some great paint colors. Hoping your weather turns to reasonable temps. It's been a mess all over the world, one disaster after another. Have a great WOYWW kind of week.

Those new paints look delightful! I can still only afford cheap craft paint, I would love to have some of those yummy colours! If I could bottle up my rain and send it to you I would gladly do it. I went to put gas in the car before lunch with my Mom, and got drenched. I might as well have taken a shower in my clothes before I left! Hope some rain comes your way soon, and thanks for your visit, Lindart #32

Hi Helen, those look like gorgeous colors of paints :) I have a little craft store about 80 miles from me and they have been pretty good about stocking the Oxides this last year or so, so. I have not actually ordered any yet, I am waiting to see them on the shelf there.
to me when I read about some of the places you all have handy to travel to it all sounds like a worth the trip thing :)

So glad you enjoyed your visit to York, Helen. We very much enjoyed it when we went there, too. It's an absolutely fascinating place. My hubby also enjoyed the railway museum there. Great new colours of paints. I haven't got any of these but always admire them - really chalky and lovely. Thank you for your visit and lol - I was sweating too, you can believe it!! All that lot will keep us going for several meals, though, so that when I don't feel up to cooking, we've always got something good to eat.

Wow,I don't think I could make it without a/c (air con), but I always blame my English genes for my heat intolerance, and you are English, so . . . I can understand, though, why English homes don't have a/c routinely. Really bad heat must be somewhat rare for you. It's different in the States. We're quite a bit south of you, and the lower half of the country is a warm or tropical climate! I've never seen York, but I've seen the new one, lol. It does sound lovely, and makes me think of James Herriott.

Hi Helen, love those paint colours - very summery. And talking of summer - it's even too hot up here. Happily, it's cooler inside than out so I'm taking refuge in my craftroom. I've been to York and, like you, I found it a beautiful city. Have a great crafty week. Elizabeth x #24
