WOYWW? 317... not a lot..

I am going to moan... I know I shouldn't, because we moan when it's cold/wet ... but it's too hot!! I don't like the intense heat we have at the moment.... so there's not a lot on my floor workspace to share with Julia and it's certainly too hot to do anything!  plus the tennis is keeping me occupied..

I think most of this was there last week... it's barely moved!

My finished canvas from the weekend before last (full details here if you missed it)

So the high temperatures do not suit me, but we have had some stunning sunsets lately.. I caught this one about ten pm , just as I was going to bed a couple of nights ago.. and yes, I did get the long lens out for the camera to take this! Had to hang out of the bedroom window a bit...

And this is tonight's (oops, Tuesday night's)

and if you like the photos from Kew, I went again last Saturday

So, not much on my desk, hoping for more to share next week... although I won't be around much next Wednesday as I'm going to Wimbledon for the tennis (thanks, boss!) Really hoping it's not going to be quite this hot...
Happy WOYWW!!

So how hot IS it? Are you sure it's not just the afterglow of a birthday? It's been 100 F (39 C) here for several days. Thank goodness for the AC, or I'd be dead about now. Like you, I don't do well with heat.

Wimbledon? How fortunate for you. Thanks for the Kew heads up. I'll drop by there after I link up with Julia.

Oooh, am very jealous about Wimbledon!! Your boss has come up trumps again :-) really hope this heat has calmed down before then, I can't cope with it either! Maybe we have Viking blood or something , lol!!

Fortunately I was not in the heat yesterday - was hot where I was (inside at a workshop) but at least I did not have the sun bearing down on me. Funny how the weather affects us - trouble is it is so inconsistent here and we are not geared up for the few days of intense heat like at the moment.
Enjoy the tennis.

Stormy but cool here in Michigan. Tornadoes hit south of here tearing up a small town. Clicked on the link for the canvas. Just love it. So much so I want to learn metal working. Diane #34

Hello, Helen. I love your canvas and was quite interested in the process. My Mom and sister did copper work years ago that was similar to what you did, and it always looked beautiful. They put plasticene in the back of the raised areas to keep them raised, and framed the finished work. My nieces have inherited my sister's pieces -- they still look beautiful after all these years. I cannot tolerate heat like that either, and we have had it for many summers now. I hide indoors in the a/c. So far this summer, we have had much needed rain and cooler temps. I can get outside more, my gardens are thriving instead of dying and I'm much happier! Happy WOYWW. Nann4 #38

Your canvas looks beautiful. I went to night school years ago and did some metal work. I remember the stippling taking a long long time. Enjoy the tennis later. That's what I shall be doing inside keeping cool. Have a good week. Barb xx #36

Loving your beautiful photos. And I really like the blue board. Live, Life and Be Happy !! Anxious to see what you do with the window shape chipboard on your desk. Thanks for your visit. Enjoy the tennis match, how fun.

Beautiful sunsets! You don't get those very often do you.
I agree about the hot weather and I sincerely hope it will have cooled down by the time Wimbledon starts. I hope you have a great time.
Have a great week,

I've just left a comment on your post about the canvas, Helen - stunning work! I really love it. Your floor looks very busy lol! Do you sit on the floor to work? Not sure I could do that! Beautiful sunset pics too. Like you, I can't stand the heat, but down here in Torquay it's not been that hot so I've been quite comfortable.

Thank you for your lovely comment and your good wishes for my treatment - next one on Fri. I'm seeing the oncologist tomorrow so no doubt we'll chat about how I've been since the last treatment (rubbish) and maybe she'll adjust the dose. I'm glad I managed to have a little time in the studio to do things because this 3 weeks has been a complete washout. So glad you like my masterboard and the wings.

Happy WOYWW,

Oh how I could do with some warmth right now it is cold here and I was in Canberra earlier this week for a funeral and it was below 0 and way below, I don't like the cold. It does look hot there at least your days are longer and you can get more done. Not posting this week no time, just visiting a few.

Happy WOYWW

Not so hot today, phew! Wish I could bottle the cool breeze to open it up on Saturday...

Love your canvas and your photographs. I am too hot and the "roasted tomato" look is not flattering! I have a question for you and it is why do some ladies look lovely in the summer while I just look hot, miserable and fed up?? Roll on Autumn!!!

Stunning sunsets... I'm with you on the heat - it's fine for doing nothing in (especially if there's a swimming pool and a good book nearby) - but no good if you actually have tasks to achieve! Still, it's a bit cooler today...

Hi Helen, thanks for popping in on me. Your sky pics are gorgeous and I love to see your metal work and canvas. I enjoyed doing those myself. Hoping my second poppy manages to bloom quickly as I'm off tomorrow to stay with Dolores! woo hoo!
