Ally Pally - Day 1

Evening all... had a great day at Ally Pally for the autumn Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show - great company, great demos and great shopping...

First stop as always is Paperartsy - Jo Firth-Young and Leandra demonstrating
looks like Jo's doing a Tommy Cooper impression "just like that" ... but was making some fab things with her stamps and paints
and Leandra was rocking the backgrounds
 this was really fab IRL
 Jo crackling an MDF J...
We did look elsewhere. This stand always has fabulously decorated mdf piecess,
and the lady was demonstrating how to make this gorgeous flower... may be going back for supplies tomorrow!
Overall impressions, where there were less stalls there, certainly less people - although it was quite crowded early on - and nothing spectacularly new, apart from some new Hot Picks..!!
but shop I did... various sizes of flat canvases, one of the new Hot Picks, some Prima bits and another Paperartsy stamp... that's the Paperartsy haul!
some chip frames and shapes, lots of stencils (although I find I have the 12x12 numbers already, lol!!
some MDF letters (going to decorate them soon.. "create" they spell.  more stencils (bargains) pad of paper (standing behind the Clarity word strip stamps - got them Sam!!) mdf shapes, some Tim stamps and other bits and bobs.

It was great to put faces to names for some more twitter followers (Lynnette and Christine - Craftyfield) and meet up again with Alison, Lin, Jo V, and I've probably forgotten some more, sorry!!

Sorry about the photos, it was very dark when I took these and had to turn the light off to avoid the glare from the flash.

I am going back tomorrow, but apart from restocking some Frescos once I have checked which I need, and maybe some of those flower/seed bits won't be spending a lot!

Lovely write up and lovely stash purchases Helen! Specially love the new Hot Picks and the stencils. Glad I'm not the only one who sometimes ends up buying something I already have! I somehow had a feeling it wasn't going to be as busy this time because I have had more reminders about it from the organisers than ever before and I'm sure one was an offer of discounted tickets shortly before cut off date for online purchase. Still wish I could have gone though. I think you might have seen my buddies Elaine and Judith who went just for today.

Hugs

Ohhhhhh. It was today :( Couldn't have come anyway - Ruby had a birthday party I had to take her to. I thought it wasn't as busy last time I went as well.

Love, love, love, LOVE, love that circle of circles stencil. That might be my favourite of your buys :)

Glad you had a good day, I think it might be worth going back just to watch the Leandra and Jo show again!

Just cam over after seeing your comment Helen (thank you) because it made me reaslise I have not been over for a while or seen any posts from you.

See there are several I've not seen on my dashboard, not idea why but might need to do what I did with a couple of others where it happened and that is stop following and start again which seemed to work there.

Another day at Ally Pally, lucky you, enjoy. And the result, it's like deja vous from a couple of years ago.

Hi Helen, great stash collection. Love the Art stencil, so useful. I hate getting home with something to discover I clearly loved it that much, I'd already bought it! So much so, I installed Evernote on my tablet/smartphone to start keeping track of what I have got. Might avoid some double purchases in future now. Hugs, Shaz xx

I stopped by earlier this morning to visit, then my computer froze up and I had to shut it down for awhile. When I came back, your second Ally Pally post was already live.

You got some beautiful stencils, and I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful things at the show.

Guess I'm lucky. I have so few stamps and practically no stencils (none from this century, anyway), I have no problems with double purchases. But if my inventory was as all encompassing as yours, I'd have to figure out a way to keep a good inventory of purchases. Of course, updating would be a bear, since you seem to buy new products daily (grin).
