The September Challenge

I came across a new (to me) challenge the other day from Anita of the Arty Inklings and wanted to take part.
You can see Anita's here  and I followed her technique - and most of the component parts too, it has to be said.

I didn't have a canvas though, so cut out and stuck a piece of sticky back canvas to a piece of grey backing from a parcel or notepad or something.

The idea is to get a streaky background by applying paint with a wide brush  - the only wide brush I have is a cheap foam one, but it kind of worked....
used Hey Pesto, Tinned Peas and Limelight for the grassy bottom...
and Bora Bora, Pea Coat and Beach Hut (plus a bit of Inky Pool) for the sky top bit...
Like Anita I used the void from an Umbrella Man die cut to apply the Grunge Paste, which I mixed with Little Black Dress paint, also for the stencilling top right corner.

So that mine wasn't a complete copy, I used a different sentiment and stencil for the remainder.
The vine leaves are stencilled with Pea Coat paint
Used Ruby and Indigo Treasure Gold to highlight the Grunge Paste, though the Indigo doesn't show up so much.
This was a fun challenge, pop over to Anita's blog to have a look and join in, there's plenty of time!

Ooooh love how the umbrella man came out, perhaps if I'd of read the brief properly I'd of seen it there first, but love the fact it's done with a paint and GP mix, looks fab.

OOOh v nice..love how you appended to have sticky backed canvas somewhere to hand! the textured rain man is very effective huh. like the serial of text in the corner too. Text on anything never did any harm, huh.

Oh I LOVE it!!! I paint canvas purses and once I got the painting part done I am now adding some more techniques, like stamping. I have never been a real stamper but all of you from WOYWW are pulling me over to your side, lol!!! Great job and I will check out the link! Have a great day. See you Wednesday, lol! Rasz
