WOYWW 167

Welcome back to What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday. The lovely Queen Julia's brainchild which sees us all hopping round snooping - there is no other word for it -  at workspaces.

Now that the Olympics have finished (boo, I'm missing it!) I am hoping to get some crafting done again, but haven't got there yet!

I spent a lovely day on Sunday at the Stamperama show in Stevenage, meeting up with some lovely crafty bloggy tweety friends! I had a very restrained spend
See! I can do small stash purchase!
I met my friend Kirsten in London and we then travelled to London's Kings Cross station where the refurbishment work that was causing such chaos last time I was there, has finished - look at this fab ceiling structure!

We both had to take photos like a couple of tourists (just as well the Olympics are on, people with cameras everywhere!!)

Leandra of Paperartsy fame was demo'ing a fabulous image transfer method so when I got home I jumped onto her website to get some... so when I have time, I'll try it out.
I'll leave you with a birthday card for my nephew on Friday (hope he doesn't see this before then!) he's 16 and just done his GCSE's so his future is ahead of him, so I thought this appropriate.

See you next week - hope to visit as many of you as I can!

It would have been my Dad's birthday today, so he is in my thoughts.

Sounds like you've had a good time, Helen. That building is amazing - I love curves created from straight lines!

Like you, I'm really missing the Olympics! Strange to find something else on the telly when I come down in the morning! Still, not long till the Paralympics so I'll get a good fix then!

Happy WOYWW,

From the look of it you spent more on the ticket and the travel than you did at the show! That doesn't make any sense, lol!! Like the refurb photos Kings Cross didn't look like that last time I saw it, but it's been a few years. Great card for your Nephew and it's good to keep our loved ones in our thoughts, I still think of my Dad a lot too.

I'm missing the Olympics too. There were quite a few late nights and early mornings though so maybe we can get back into a routine now.
I think your card is perfect for something about to take flight in the next chapter of their life.

Love the balloon card! It's very apt for the lad at this time.. I know, my G3 is waiting for his results too next week!
I adore that ceiling at Kings Cross - it's reminiscent of the Great Court at the British Museum, I think. Fab pics!
And I think we are both afflicted by O.W.S - Olympics Withdrawal Syndrome!!

Having just yesterday celebrated a birthday for my Dad that we thought he wouldn't see, I hold you dear Dad in my thoughts too - they are so precious. Wonderful pics at Kings Cross, it's a wonder people don't spend a lot of time craning their necks and bumping into each other!
Weren't the Olympics fab fab fab, I understand the shopping, it's withdrawal therapy!

Nice to have had some retail therapy - the new LOTV paper pads have just gone on sale online, soI may have to visit there today! I know what you mean about your Dad - my Dad would have had his 72nd birthday next week but passed away very suddenly last Autumn - its still hard to take in,

That is an interesting ceiling structure there. It is definitely picture-worthy. I could look at it for a long time. I'm impressed with your restrained spending. Don't look at my desk if you are looking for restraint. Love the card for your nephew!

Thanks for your visit, Helen - not sure I envy me my creative space at the moment because it's so disorganised and such a tip! I can hardly move in there... My dream is to have a really wonderfully organised, large and beautiful space where everything is in reach, and I can find everything easily! (Isn't that the dream of all of us?) One day...

Under a week till the Paralympics start, and then we can get a fix again lol!!
