Dylusions - what colours!!!

Well, just for Carol my twit buddy, here is something made with items from my new Ally Pally stash!

I really do need to get a different journal though, as this one has quite thin paper pages and the sprays do go right through.... I didn't prime this one with gesso, to see just how much.... suffice to say, even after painting the other side with gesso, you can still see the colour through...

So, I used two of the Dylusion sprays I bought (obviously I wanted them all, but limited myself to 5)  These are pure sunshine and vibrant turquoise. I blended in the gaps with some distress inks (mustard seed and evergreen bough).  I used a thin watered down wash of gesso over the densest part of the turquoise, so that what I wanted to do on top had a chance of showing up.

Then, I took two of the wonderful Dina Wakley stamps (boys star and grungy circles) - these aren't new from Saturday though  - and stamped them on top.  First of all I used the circles with picket fence distress stain, and I didn't think it showed up till I've photographed it!!  Then I used black archival for the stars, and cobalt archival for the circles.

Finally I took the Silhouette Script girl which I stamped in black on a piece of white card spritzed with the pure sunshine spray and cut her out.  The text is one of Dyan's Dylusion sets I got on Saturday, just stamped on white paper and cut up and stuck on. I wanted all of them too, but only got one set. So that's doubled my Dylusions stamp sets!! slowly, slowly!

Hopefully tomorrow I will also be in possession of the Dylusion stencils as a packet came today that needed signing for, so of course I was out, and will pick it up from the sorting office on my way to work tomorrow morning.... watch this space as they say!

So, Carol, this is for you!  I'm just off to test out my craft scrubbie!!

Oh Helen, that is so sweet - thank you! Just love the colors, and that stamp is One of my favorites! Those circles really do show up as well - I don't have any dylusions sprays - have glimmer mists tho! Totally know what you mean about journals as well - I've had that problem! Can't wait to see what you do with you're new stencils!

You need a good sketchpad with nice thick pages :)

I love these colours, you've sold me on them. Now to save some pennies!

Brilliant page, Helen - love the colours and the stamps. I limited myself to five, too and find I have quite enough with those. I don't have those stamps, though... x

I really like those colors. I don't think we can get the Dylusion brand in the US, at least I've never seen it. The colors really ARE vibrant and beautiful. You did a good job of buying wisely at Ally Pally. You may have spent a lot (from previous post), but it was all things you will use. In the past, I have bought things, put them away, and never used them until they had dried up or lost their potency or were too dated to use with any success.

I applaud you for what you have made in your journal, too.

Super page Helen.. If your pages are too thin you need to do a coat of gesso THEN a coat of a product called absorbent ground {made by golden} its designed to work with wetter products such as stains and sprays.

Lovely, if bright, journal page Helen. I have been fancying some of these sprays and now I fancy even more!! Maybe try thicker paper or try Minxy's idea!
