WOYWW - February already??

Hello again, fellow desk hoppers. Hope you've all had a good week - and sorry, but I just didn't get to you all last time!

So. another Wednesday, another WOYWW?  Check out the links at Julia's and see just how many nosey lovely people there are checking out where we create!

On my desk today (in front of my new TV (see last week) that I got at the weekend - hurrah!) is a prize I won from The Stamp Man during their recent Blog Hop/2010 Award event - a set of 4 Stazon ink pads. I use black stazon quite a bit when stamping on metal and grungepaper, but I haven't used these new ones that come with the re-inkers much and find it hard to guage (or is it gauge?) how much ink to put on the pad at any one time - I know you don't use too much as it dries out quickly, but anyone got any tips??

At the weekend I was making a birthday card and needed to rummage in my script/sentiment drawers (yes, drawers, you know me well enough by now to know I don't do things by halves, lol!) to find the birthday stamp I wanted!! So I thought I'd share them all with you too!  origiinally one of these drawers was only Christmas, but it's got a bit muddled!

And there's another one!! (with some interlopers... I was running out of drawers..)  I love Penny Black sentiment stamps, can you tell?
I also tried to sort out some of my papers.  I had this paper storage carry bag from my sister in law ages ago, and decided that it would be ideal for my Tim Holtz paperstacks (it's not full - yet - don't worry... so plenty of room for more purchases!) it will save them from getting damaged in amongst the pile of crafting magazines they used to live with!
I am sure those of you who go to clubs and crops and things recognise the sort of thing.  Just need to find somewhere sensible/accessible to stand it now (it's very heavy, even half full.....)

Anyhow, have a great Wednesday, and I will catch as many of you as I can. I am going to the stamp show at Stevenage on Sunday (I know I shouldn't really, with Ally Pally being only a couple of months away) but I can't resist! What I am saying is, there may be some new stash on show next week!!! (some, she says......)

Oh no Helen, you need to go to Stevenage...there'll still be stuff you want by the time Ally Pally comes around, honest! I think I'm buying stamps vicariously through you - although we seem to share alot of the same ones when it comes to the sentiments! I gave up on the expanding files - too heavy and then they fall forward when not balanced and aaaagh...too lazy!!

How many stamps!! They are lovely and the paper storage looks good, I wish they would develop a paper storage system that reminds you of what you've actually got - that would be great! :-)

Congratulations, Helen, on winning those fab ink pads. That's a serious collection of stamps - you must have a greeting/sentiment for any and every occasion and I can quite see why you love PB stamps. The paper storage is a neat idea too. Thanks for sharing. Elizabeth x #96

Ooo, those new Staz On Metallics are AWESOME! I would only reink if I plan on using it immediately. If you keep the lids and that plastic inside lid on tight, shouldn't be too much of an issue. What? More stash? lol!

Kezzy said...

Congrats on your win, I'm afraid I can never get it right either as I have the White stazon, I shall keep a look out on your comments to see if I can get any tips. Lol. Brilliant storage and I love all those stamps.

Love all the storage, and congrats on the Prize!! I have a few of the Opaque Staz-on, and it may be just me, but I don't like them very much. The ink seems really thick & sticky- nothing like the other stazon pads. Thanks for sharing your workspace.

WOW wish I had as many stamps as that lol. happy woyww, thanks for sharing :)

Lol - so many stamps - do you use them all??

Lol, I think you like every stamp, not just the PB ones!! We also moved in to the realm of lat screen tv ownership for the first time last week, it's totally transformed our viewing, we were watching a show out of Australia with wonderful scenery and saw the first few episodes on the old tv and the next lot on the new one. Wow, what a difference!

And I thought I had a lot of stamps!!! Tee hee

I have the white Staz On and know what you mean in terms of not being sure how much ink to add. I would suggest adding a thin-ish layer and give it a try. It's best to keep adding a bit more than risk putting too much on at once. I do think you need to add a small amount each time you use them though, as otherwise they won't give thick enough coverage. Good luck!

Morti said...

Wow - you're as bad as me with your stamp collections.... Huge congrats on your Stazon win - wtg you! Sorry, but I can't help with the ink quantity thing though.... :-(

I like the idea of using a file folder to store the papers! I have some of the ink pads with reinkers and it takes a lot of reinker to get it wet enough to get the stamp covered. I only use half the pad if it is a small stamp. I actually put the pad in a plastic bag to try and keep it moister. I am always flipping(front to back) to keep the ink even. Friend of mine said that wasn't necessary but...
