WOYWW 90 - more newbies!

Oh well, what can I say?  I am in this really spendy mood at the moment!! I get them from time to time ....

Welcome along to another Wednesday hop around the world's crafting spaces, courtesy of head girl Julia . Thanks for all your lovely comments last time about my corkboard. I may need another one....!

So, the newbies then.... well, on Sunday - just Sunday - I was just looking (!) at some of the new ranges that Tim is launching this year and some of which is already on it's way to the UK. And I decided that I DID need the paperstack you see on my desk today.  And once again, it fell into my online cart.... as they do.  So it didn't feel lonely in transit I got some new stamps...

At least I only bought one set....
When this paperstack came out, I thought I didn't like it - well over the last few days I have seen some blogs and tweets using this paper and what can I say - I am a convert!  SCRUMMY!
Also, Wendy at the Stamp Attic has it for a very good price.
It arrived (at work) on Tuesday - two days after ordering it - as I say, on a Sunday. What service.
So last night, whilst watching QVC's craft day (don't ask....) I played with some tags.

I was only going to do one, as there was something else I wanted to do (a challenge piece) but I decided after stamping the tag, to put it through one of Tim's texture fade folders.... Once I put the acetate on top, I decided the embossing was too much, so I did another one and left the tag "plain".
Much prefer the one on the right.
Stamped the butterflies with stazon and then used alcohol inks on the other side to colour them.
There is one advantage of working on the floor - you can do this to apply pressure to a large stamp to get an even impression!!
Actually, with the second tag I didn't bother, the stamps are good enough not to really need it, but sometimes I do it this way!

These arrived on Saturday.... (well, they were a pre-order so they don't count, do they?!)  And we won't talk about the trade show that was on at Birmingham for the last few days - and that my sister in law went to (she runs a craft business from her home, see the link in my side bar) and - erm - ordered some stuff for me along with hers.... told you I was in a spendy mood...

And yes, I did buy the TSV from QVC on Tuesday - despite going to bed well before the launch at midnight; I wasn't going to, honest - but something woke me up on the dot of midnight and I just had to check it out... before I knew what I was doing, I was on the phone, credit card in my hand.... it's Tim's fault, he is too good a salesman as well as crafter! And I'm not going to the Artsycraft session later this week, so ...... Those of you who are - well, enjoy!  Really really wish I had signed up for it now.
Anyhow, I have rambled on long enough and you have desks to visit, so - until next week, TTFN!

(Edit, Wednesday morning - my tag for the Simon Says challenge got the randomly drawn prize - more spending, ROFL!   Thanks Simon Says and the random generator!!! and congrats to the other winners this week)
My heart also goes out to everyone in Christchurch, NZ who is affected by the dreadful earthquate.Sometimes, "real life" is more important. Blessings to you all.

So agree with your thoughts for folk in Christchurch so sad, in 1930's my dad's 8 y.o. cousin was killed in school-yard in Napier, at NZ worst ever earthquake about 23 killed then as the town was nearly flattened.. but not sure this may be worse, I pray not!
Love the loot and agree with you on tag verdict well done on your prize too!

Your tags are fabulous, and I love the way you use your foot, such a good idea, lol. More goodies, they look fantastic. I went to AFTH yesterday and as I was just looking, things started to fall into my basket, so I know the feeling you have about on line shopping as well. xx

ha ha ha you stamping with your feet love it! I was also watching the QVC thing and I am afraid that my evil twin (the one that likes to spend money and accumulate stash) bought some things - had to have the cute little stamp set which came with the alcohol inks.

Am loving all your buys Helen, but wow that foot technique is awesome, is it copyrighted>>> lol Brill. Have a great week playing, or should I say stomping.... Annette x

I would have never thought of foot stamping lol. What lovely goodies you have and it was meant to be if you wake up at the dot of midnight lol. What was the TSV? QVC seems to given up the crafting ghost in the states, but the Home Shopping Network has picked it up. It's better if I just leave the house on those days though lol. TFS! #67

No no no!!! This is so not good. Why did you go and show me some butterfly stamps and a paris stamp and then go and tell me where to buy them. Off like a shot I went and of course some distress inks fell off the shelf at the same time. So now I have goodies coming to me on Friday. Yep I can't wait.

Hi Helen - hope I won't offend by saying it's good to see TH media being used in an attractive (to me) way. By which I mean the altered art method does not always appeal. I was with you watching QVC but skipped the TSV mainly because I have too much to do and lots of other ideas to explore. It's a happy busy life - we share socks too ...Shirl #106

Beautiful tags. And another "foot person", though I mainly have to do this for punches. No strength in wrists any more.

Elizabeth said...

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one to succumb to the charms of Mr TH on QVC - I broke down and bought the alcohol inks, etc., pack because I just had to have it! Your tags are lovely. Congratulations on the win. Elizabeth x #114

With all this new stuff arriving by the day you’ll need to be looking for bigger crafting premises soon in think.

Loving your ingenious way to rubber stamp too Helen but I bet it wouldn’t work in 5 inch stilettos!

Foot stamping? Now thats a new way of doing things, makes sense. Isn't it amazing how things just jump into our carts? I have that same problem. Happy belated WOYWW.

You certainly give a new meaning to the word 'stamping'!!!

I think those retro papers are great too and I'm not really a fan of distressed. They look particularly suitable for men cards too.

Sounds like you've got as much will power as me when it comes to buying new stash ;-)
