It's already Wednesday - WOYWW?

Hurray, another Wednesday!  The day of the week were we all meet at Julia's to nose around the craft spaces of the world.

After my extreme bout of stash buying at the weekend (you can see the pics in an earlier post) my craft space on the floor is looking quite - empty!  I actually made some extra space around me - amazingly - although unless you visit regularly you probably wouldn't notice!!   Not sure what happened with  that tag, it's probably already been blogged, because that shot was taken a couple of days ago -
This one shows what's on my desk today (well,Tuesday night) - a couple of reject attempts at the "shabby chic" page of Tim's book for the challenge I'm taking part in on Mondays; whcih were meant to be for something else this time;  plus a WIP part of a birthday card. Wonder who that could be for?

I have deliberately left my toes in the shot cos I don't think you really believe I work on the floor!! (tee hee)

Right, I'm off to nose around you all - I think I made it to everyone last week, but if I didn't leave a comment, sorry, I tried, but I did at least visit.

CCC 4 - Shabby Chic

It's Monday so it must be time for another Curiosity challenge here at Linda's Studio L3 where the book this week has been turned to page 49 - Shabby Chic.

I've used some new stamps that I bought on Saturday at the Newbury Artstamps show. I've used sailboat blue dabber on a die cut shape (Tim's ornate alteration die) and the Owls are by Simply Stamps - aren't they cute?! The top colour is vintage photo - and yes, I know I should have done the colours the other way round to be more realistic, but when I tried that (on the other side of this!) it looks a real mess, so back to version one!!  Quite by chance I bought a distress embossing ink pad on Saturday - it has worked beautifully!

I've covered a square tag with a piece of paper from Tim's vintage shabby paper stack, to which I've added some broken china round the edges, and the japanese maple leaves (also new) are by Penny Black, stamped in brushed corduroy. The sentiment is Wendy's.

Do go check out the other entries - there were some stunners last week!  Once again there are prizes on offer so if you've got the book, what are you waiting for?

Eco Paints

I was keen to try out the eco-green paints I got on Friday. I've applied it to this circle chip using cut n'dry foam - buttermilk and lime are the colours.  They are yummy to use, apply really easily.  I wrapped some string round the circle and sprayed it with the Key Lime glimmer mist (I love this colour!) and heat dried it.

I've then stamped the "agapanthus cluster" (stampendous) using broken china - I clear embossed the middle one only - and used a couple of Tim stamps to finish it.

I think I'm going to like these paints!!

SS - Rhinestone Cowboy

Hels' Sunday Stamper challenge is "rhinestones" -  didn't have any cowboys, but do have some rhinestones!

I used some of my new Tim stamps from yesterday's "little" shopping trip, lol, (scroll down if you missed just how little!) on a tag (the set is called Going Somewhere ) and Tim's birdcage die which has been inked, shimmered and sprayed.  The bird has been embossed with distress powder and sprayed too, but it's got a bit curly so you can't see the black enamel accent I used for his eye!
I used rhinestones on the cage to meet the challenge requirement.

Off now to enjoy the Wimbledon final!

Artstamps show at Newbury - Hot Hot Hot

Well, judging by the amount I bought (see below!) it was a successful show - and I hope Alison (craftytrog) enjoyed it - I bumped into her early on - I hope you weren't disappointed, as I feel kind of guilty for putting the idea of your going into your head -  but when I review it, I don't think it was as good as usual - some of my favourite companies (LB Crafts mainly!) missing again - but see what you think:

So much I couldn't fit it all in one pic.  The (bits and bobs) - Tim's Lost and Found paper stack, reinkers, card blanks, paper packs, more mini misters, etc etc.

and a "few" stamps.... a few more bits of idea-ology, a fab female form to alter, some tissue tape...  If you look closely (and I am sure you will) you will maybe see that some of the stamps were REDUCED i.e. bargains..... and NO, (Lori!) I don't know where I am going to put it all.... lol.

Sorry about all the crap in the background of the photo (including my box of blogged tags behind.  One day I will do something with them once blogged...)
I had lots of things on my list that I couldn't get, including some tags - can you believe I've practically run out?  So when I got home, I rang Lin at LB Crafts who is sending me some, post-haste!  Thanks Lin!!  I left lots earlier than I normally do from Newbury so was home for most of the first of today's World Cup quarter finals..... and now I am settling down to my dinner and a lovely glass of Pimms....

Cheers all, and have a good evening!    Oh, by the way, I seem to be having some problems with anonymous comments on my blog and when I leave comments elsewhere (I left a comment on Hels' blog when I got home and it showed up as her commenting - although the link was back to me) so I have for the time being taken off "anonymous" comments from my blog - hope it doesn't cause you too much trouble.  I'll see how it goes.....

Tag Tuesday - Summer

This week's Tag Tuesday challenge has a theme of "summer" and is open for two weeks.

I have used Paperartsy stamps with some Wendy sentiments and a Hero dragonfly.

The tag is coloured with rusty hinge with a little vintage photo round the edges, and I've stamped the Paperartsy flower with rusty hinge, the criss cross is wild honey.
The little paper flower at the top is from petaloo, coloured with wild honey and covered with some glitter.

I had my delivery of eco green paints yesterday - just look at all their lovely ice-cream colour loveliness.   I thought I was very restrained to limit myself to these (9) to start with....!
I can't wait to use them - but in reality it will be Sunday as I'm out all day on Saturday at the Newbury "Artstamps" show (can't wait, so excited, got a huge list, that is growing by the day, that's before I get there... lol)

Thursday's July - so today's WOYWW

I am saying nothing about it being 1st July tomorrow. Nothing like "it can't be", or "where did the first 6 months of the year go" cos that would be boring and show my age!!!  So we'll gloss over that.

Thank you all for your warm wishes for my birthday last Saturday.  In the end what with the heat 'n all, I just chilled (not a good choice of word in the circumstances!) in front of the TV - Wimbledon tennis and World Cup football, - although the less said about THAT the better!  I'm still glued to it now... Apart from some fab cards (Hels, Julia, Lynne, I'm talking about you) one of the best things was that I had an email from "SUZE melt-pot Weinberg" in response to a comment I'd left on her blog, wishing me Happy Birthday - how cool is that!!

Ok, on to what you're here for (probably!) What is on my workdesk this Wednesday?  Strictly speaking, not a lot at the moment (due to my early starts for work I'm prepping this on Tuesday, (yes with the footie on next to me) but by the time I get to the end I may have got something going on!

I mentioned on Saturday that I bought this beautiful set of drawers half price which is now adorned with Hels' card (still loving it!) and I was teasing you about what I may have decided to put inside by hinting it was "something dear to my heart".  There were a couple of good guesses, but Carmen got it right - sorry, there's no prize, Carmen!! so without further ado - the reveal!

Yes, it's my Timmy Idea-ology collection!  Still in their packets for the time being as I haven't found any little containers to transfer them to - and if I do, they may come out of these drawers!  There are too many to have them single layer so some of the gorgeousness is hidden - under more gorgeousness!  But at least I found (cleared) a space on the computer table that was meant to be my craft table for them so they are perched right about my craft mat-on-the-floor where I craft.  It's made a bit of space in the box where they used to be - so can go shopping, correct?  Isn't that how it works?!  Make some space, fill it back up!!
What else is going on chez H?  Well, I got (thanks again to Carmen for the web link) some samples of fabric to try in the tattered florals die - they arrived this week - haven't done anything with them yet.  The white looking one has an embroidered flower pattern on it.   I ordered 5 (the maximum) but there's only 4 here - I may be going mad but I am sure there were all 5 when I looked originally - but maybe not, cos the "missing" one isn't hanging around.  I can't find the web address at the moment but if anyone wants it let me know and I'll hunt it out.
I've ordered some Eco Green acrylic paints from The Craft Barn that Lin and Leandra were using at the demo day a couple of weeks ago, but which I missed out on at the time, that are just back in stock -hopefully they'll come soon!! I know I'm going to Newbury on Saturday and will be spending..... "some" money.... (yeh, and the rest, you should see the shopping list!) but they may not be there, so.....

Finally, I was messing about after I had my hair cut and highlighted yesterday (I thought if I could get a semi-decent pic I could put it on my blog but .....!!)  I NEVER look good in photos (nose is too big, big bags under my eyes, etc etc and I know that no-one ever likes pics of themselves, but you haven't seen some of mine!!) but I do like the skirt I'm wearing - it's my fave-est ever (Per Una at M&S from at least 2 years ago - I'd wear it every day in summer if I could)  This was taken in the mess that is my bedroom after I finally worked out how to turn off the flash - despite it being quite light still at the time, the first few were rather obliterated by the flash in the mirror, lol. Those are all books behind me,yes - they won't fit in the shelves in the dining room (and where the table is covered in books too!)

Anyhow I've burbled on far too long as usual, so head over here to our beloved leader Julia's gaff, to find out what all the other W'ers (shorthand now!) are doing this week!

Hopefully next week will have lots of new stash to share with you (in picture form only, of course!)
