It's my dear dear friend Gabrielle's choice of theme for our tags this fortnight, at DragonsDream... she wants us to use the letter B and flower. I went for layered flowers - and bird .
I started with Stone mixed with Tikka Fresco paint (blending on the tag with a brayer, tag spritzed with water to help the blending process.
the bird is on of Dina Wakley's fabulous Scribbly Birds, stamped onto the tag and then the feathers "painted" on afterwards.. I used a piece of the twiggy bits my friend Lin gave me ages ago, for the bird to sit in.
the flowers are from my stash - the large one, I sprayed with orange spray (probably Dylusions, but I did it so long ago and put it away to save, that I can't remember...) it's got a flourishy type stamp stamped on it too.. again, no idea, was at least a couple of years ago I did this! Layered it up with some other flowers and a brad for the centre.
the little birds are stencilled (one of my Paris stencil haul!) and the sentiment is from the Scribbly Birds set.
We look forward to seeing how you interpret this theme - don't forget you must use at least one real stamp, on your tag. Have fun!
The increasingly inky and painty ramblings of a stampaholic, whilst kneeling on the floor. Yes, my knees do protest!

WOYWW 253 - the post Paris edition..
Bonjour, mes amies - and Happy Wednesday to you all Welcome to another WOYWW hosted by the lovely Julia...
Well, Paris was fantastic, and the Version Scrap show, whilst small, was fabulous... check the post here for details of the show and here for the start of my adventure on my "photosbyh" blog - I'm splitting the posts into small (but loads of photos) chunks and haven't finished yet! I reckon there will be 5 in all by the time I've finished... three so far.
And yes I bought a few goodies (you can see them all in the Version Scrap post linked above but as you can see from this photo (taking lolling on the sofa last night) I haven't had time to put it all away yet...!
I'll leave it at that for today, hope to make more of your desks this week, although as I'm behind on challenges and off to Ally Pally Stamp and Scrapbooking show on Saturday I can't promise!! If you're going, hope to see you there.

Version Scrap - #PATwits on tour!
I've just got home from four days in Paris with my good twitter/blog friends Sam, Emma and Lin. We were lucky enough to get tickets to go to the Version Scrap show in Paris and decided also to sign up for a class whilst we were there... Warning - picture heavy post (one of many!) ... the photos of Paris itself will appear over the next few days on my photosbyh blog (link to the right, click the fountain picture) but this post is about the Version Scrap show and our class. The show starts properly on the Friday but has a "VIP" night on Thursday, and we were kindly given tickets to that by Leandra.
We walked through this pretty park (Parc de Florel) to the venue for Version Scrap though on the show days proper, there is a little "noddy train" that takes you up the road from the Metro stop.
where we found some familiar faces!
it was lovely to meet Sally, in the middle here, from twitter - she lives in France and goes along as interpreter for Lin and Leandra.
Leandra and Lin both working hard away!
The stands are beautifully set out, they seem to take so much more trouble than here. (Read the Paperartsy review here)
Lin off on a shopping mission!!
I think I surprised her with this one, lol!!
You can't actually see from this very well, but these are all hung on a sort of tree...
lovely!
and there are huge pieces of artwork on display - they were fantastic!
On the Friday, we went back to the show, where we spent 3 inky painty messy hours doing a tag class taken by Birgit Koopsen Here we are setting up our spaces..
I can't get this the right way round, even though it is rotated in my pc!! As you can see, even away from home I make a mess quick!! These inks we used were fabulous!
and look, Sam journalling!! (admittedly, only mopping up some spare ink in a little journal Emma had bought, but hey, it's journalling!)
PATwits - the 4 of us and Linda and Christine standing, thanks to class teacher Birgit for taking this one!
and then it would have been rude not to shop !! - gorgeous 12x12 papers
stencils (and class kit to the left - unfinished yet, so I haven't taken it out of the bag!)
those are the inks we used... stamps, another stencil (Memory box) and some glass pebbles on the red mesh bag.
some wooden bits and pieces - Lin and I both loved the book with the flexible spine.
and some bits from Paperartsy - ATC cards, Paris ones, fabulous! flowers, little birds, oh and more flowers!
I don't go back to work till Tuesday so will try and blog some of the sights we saw round Paris tomorrow...
I highly recommend Version Scrap if you ever go to Paris in April (which I also recommend!!)
