WOYWW 707

Good morning fellow deskers and welcome to the last desk before Christmas....I'm still not ready!

But, tis Wednesday, tis time for WOYWW  and time to meet Julia and fellow deskers to see what crafty wonders they've been up to...

I am sharing the "desk" this week, slightly stages with a wrapped gift ready to have a label added,

and I folded a scrap of leftover masterboard I was using for Christmas cards, to fashion a little "purse" to hold a monetary gift for my niece.. loosely tied as I haven't yet got the cash from the bank to add to it!

had the light been better when I was rummaging in the ribbon box I might have found one that matched better....

I've had a last minute invitation to my brother's for Christmas (he's quite local, but due to Covid we've not got together for the last few Christmasses...) so my planned Christmas dinner for one will wait until I am home again.  It will be good to catch up with him, my SIL, niece and nephew and my SIL's parents..

Last Saturday was the last pre-Christmas visit to Kew (they are shut this coming Saturday, Christmas Eve)  and there was leftover snow and much beauty... here's a sneak peak in case you don't have time to visit the whole blogful!

the dogwoods round the pond were stunning in the wintery sun
loved the icicles on the statue's hand
my mate Kim and I did laugh at the gulls sliding on the ice on the lake as they landed!

so that's all for this week,  just time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and good wishes for the new year - hope to see some of you next week in between the festivities.

thanks for visiting.

WOYWW 604

Good morning and welcome to the final WOYWW of 2020 (thank goodness 2020 is over!)  WOYWW is the brainchild of Julia at the Stamping-Ground    I can't say I will be sorry to see 2020 come to an end, although it doesn't look as if 2021 is going to start off much better with COVID numbers shooting up again here.

I hope you all had a happy Christmas and were able to spend it - if not exactly how you wanted - doing what you wanted!  For me, that was a lovely roast dinner (for one)  and lots of tv.

I had a small pile of gifts to open...
which I meant to re-photograph in daylight but forgot

the box just off shot to the left is a bath/shower set (part of the gift from my boss Monica, with the pashmina/scarf  and a gift voucher ) and the box on right  holds a stencil and some mixed media "souffle" texture paste; from my sister in law and brother

I've intended to do lots of crafting over the holidays - I am off work until next Monday - but not got a lot of it done yet..

but I've added some stencilling over the A4 journal page I shared a couple of weeks ago when I played with some of the gloss paint sprays

the stencil is Dina's too...
and my smaller, normal journal - a mix of Dina stamps and stencils and some added Paperartsy leafy stamps (in the dark green)

I may not get to link quite as early this week as I've been enjoying lying in and not waking as early as normal but will have plenty of time to visit your desks during the day. (I'm writing this and scheduling as normal on Tuesday night)

WOYWW 447 - and it was over!

Happy two days after Christmas deskers!  Blink and you missed it - Christmas, that is...
time to re-group for WOYWW with Julia and the gang - link and info (should you need it) is here

So I hope you all had a very Happy Christmas- that your day was filled with fun, family and food... not necessarily in that order!

It was quiet here, but I had a good time, in sole control of the remote and plenty of Christmas dinner!  (I cooked my favourite, roast beef, of course and there is plenty left for the rest of the week.

I cleared a (small) space on my craft space (i.e. I picked up the craft mat - hoovered up all the dust and fluff) and created a little bit more leg room....
I had stocked up in Waitrose (UK supermarket for non UK readers) on half price boxed chocolates a few weeks before Christmas... I think I have enough to survive a seige....
I had a small bundle of gifts to open on Christmas Day...
a Gardens calendar, Jamie Oliver cook book, M&S gift voucher (all from my boss) a canvas design to colour, a lino cutting knife and some lino blocks (the round red thing is a finger guard)  and chocolates from my brother and SIL; some bath goodies and a new purse from two of the girls at work, and some licquer chocolates and a pretty tea light from my cousin; and some really pretty Nottingham lace and a little lace scented sachet from my friend Lesley who had a day at the Chatsworth Christmas fayre.

I am hoping to get some crafting in this week before I go back to work, so the space on the floor may be back to normal very soon!
In the meantime I wish you a very happy Rest of Christmas and New Year... hoping that 2018 is happy and healthy and creative for us all!

WOYWW 446 - the one before Christmas...

Welcome back - ready or not, it's nearly Christmas!     Time for another WOYWW where we share our crafty spaces at the Stamping-Ground
My "desk" this week is an early one, as Tuesday evening sees the annual office Christmas party (dinner at the Trafalgar Hotel this year) and I am not sure what time I will wake up on Wednesday morning... (early, probably, I always do; but you never know) - so I couldn't leave it to chance that I'd have time to write up a post when I got home from London!!

anyway, my "desk"  -  not crafting as such, although there was a bit...
Christmas present wrapping... Secret Santa gift had to be ready to take in for Tuesday, so I decided I may as well do the rest as well, seeing as how I finished buying them on Sunday!

a pile of prettily wrapped gifts ready for delivering...

the crafting included finishing my brother and sister-in-law's card ( and I am really really hoping she won't have time to see this before Christmas!!)

I put into action the new Timmy dies I bought last week along with the Timmy Tree Line stamp set (bought specifically with this in mind)

The other crafting was for some gift envelopes for my niece and nephew only I haven't photographed them on my camera - only on my repaired phone!!

but I have managed to download it!
Used a different Timmy die for them (I was a bit bored of wrapping by then so rushed them a bit!)

Ah yes, the phone... got a message to say it was ready, went to pick it up first thing Saturday morning.  Finished my Christmas shopping, came home, set up the phone.... phone told me it had detected a new sd card.... didn't really think anything of it... happened to see I had some photos on the phone..... but they told me I'd have lost them, and I knew they hadn't backed themselves up... Looked a bit closer.... Don't know who these people are I thought..... obviously somebody else's SD card got put in my phone at the repair place.... unless of course, it's not my phone (it is) so had to trek back down to the Carphone Warehouse to moan, and get them to take the sd card out..... good job it's only a 15 minute walk to the high street!

but at least I have a working phone!!

Let me finish by wishing you a very Happy Christmas and healthy and happy New Year - see you at a desk near here very soon!    Before then, there will be photos in a separate post from the office night out!!

edit.  I wrote the party post when I got home so it's here if you're interested/nosy

WOYWW 291 - Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all, hope 2015 is a happy, healthy and creative one. I hope you are sitting comfortably, because I've had a bit of a tidy up... sorry to shock you!

I had Christmas at home on my own this year and decided I wanted a bit more space to sit in, so as I was off work from Christmas Eve, set to then...
look at all that space round the sofa! (I also turned the fraying rug round to hide the ragged ends) My space on the floor is tidy, too - the MDF chest I painted over the weekend is still there as I haven't decided where to put it yet. (see previous post for more info about this)
(the scraps box has been purged and tidied, the two boxes stacked, next to the craft mat holding 'essentials' has been stripped of unused and useless contents and also tidied)
Had a very lovely pile of presents to open on Christmas Day - savoured them and spread out the opening over the day!
and what a lovely pile there were - the handbag, scarf and the day's photography course (at the local adult education centre) are from my very generous boss)
this gorgeous box (Prima - my sister in law knows me well!... she knew I'd want the box too!

contained a lovely pile of crafting goodies...

Now, you probably know from previous week's reveals that this newly found space means a lot of things had to go somewhere....

the dining room!!!  EEEK!
This is the view from the doorway (which, due to my Christmas Eve clear out, also included a couple of bags of clothes for the Charity shop, means I can get through the doorway, without ducking, which is nice!)  That IS a dining room table there under books...)

As you can see from the first picture, I haven't brought back all of the stuff that I moved.. I will probably not either, but will try and sort out some of the piles in the other room, before too long... or at least next Christmas, lol!!

Well, I haven't been short and sweet, but hopefully Julia will forgive me... now, you have other desks to visit, so hop on over to the Stamping Ground for the rest of WOYWW and see what you can see - I'll catch you there soon. Oh, and if you like my photos from Kew, there is a post on the other blog from Monday, when I visited (click the picture of the fountain at the top of this blog)
