WOYWW 756

Welcome deskers.  time once more for WOYWW  and to share some crafty spaces.  Week 756 sees us rounding out November, heck!

I received my first Christmas card in the post (thanks LLJ, efficient as ever!) and I've not finished mine let alone written them or bought the stamps to post them... maybe this weekend....

I was thrown off kilter on Sunday by my heating breaking down - on the coldest day of the year, obviously.

Luckily my service contract with British Gas came through and by Monday lunchtime it was fixed

but I did get some more cards made up...

I had to force myself because otherwise this would have been a very short post...

Saturday at Kew was really cold, but beautifully sunny

and the light made for some stunning photos

what a difference a week makes!

My Kew buddy Kim has finally had the cast off her ankle, but is now in an air boot for another 6 weeks so still  not mobile enough for Kew... she's gutted at having missed such a colourful autumn.

Well, that's me, thanks for visiting and I hope to catch your desks soon.  Happy WOYWW

Your cards are lovely Helen - delicate and delightful. Just need a small mortgage for postage. I bet Autumn Kew is stunning. x x Jo

What is it with boilers they just know the worst times to go wrong I'm sure. You're right, the news about Carabelle is very sad. I love their stamps and remember them first starting up but I'm sure Kate Crane will find someone else to design for. Loving the C. card designs and hope you get your Kew buddy back soon. Happy woyww, Angela x9x

So scary for the heating to break down, but glad you got it going again, and well done for persevering with the card making despite the chill! It was certainly very cold at the weekend! I wonder what that purple thing is - surely that's not a plant? Have fun this week and appreciate your central heating! xx zsuzsa #7

Oh my Helen, thank goodness for your service contract, life without heating is just so miserable. In fact on Sunday night we gave in and went to bed super early because we felt we just couldn't get warm. Meant a damn early start on Monday though, and that was also cold! Good that the cards are being done, at what ever pace...if you haven't a bunch of overseas ones to send, it's not so desperate is it!

How do boiler know when to break down? Glad you managed to sort it quickly.
I am just about to do the long haul of Christmas Cards . . . why does it seem to take so long when it is only a few weeks really . .
So pleased Kim has progressed with her ankle . . . time is a good healer.
Have a good week

LOL! Our thermostat lost it's pairing to the controller while we were away but Dear Son is always running hot and didn't think anything of it as the water tank was still hot. We were freezing for a bit till we figured out what the problem was. Glad your mate will be back to Kew with you soon!Love the backgrounds, of course.
On the day so YAY!

What a shame for Kim, hope she feels better now at least.
Another shame is the heating breakdown - what a time for it to happen. Glad Kew came up trumps.

So glad the heating has been sorted -it was minus 2 here this morning! Those autumn leaves are beautiful. Not sure what the lilac flower is, but it is a lovely colour too. Happy WOYWW. Angela #4

The purple flower is a salvia. I don't know how to edit the post on my phone ! .
