WOYWW 698

Not sure how it's Wednesday already again - but here we are meeting for another WOYWW - week 698.  Do come and join in the fun.

You'll be surprised that not a lot of crafting has gone on since last week... just a start to another journal page.  i suppose it's better than nothing.

there was already the sage green stencil (reverse stencil actually, from the leftover paint on the stencil from something else)  on the page

I took one of Dina's stencils which has lots of different circles on it and used one of the larger ones with a graduating orange colour

added some black blobby dots from another Dina stencil... and kind of got stuck!

the intention was to do more on Tuesday evening but Bake Off won out....

the orange paint I used is one of the newer colours, Tangelo, from Dina's range,  and added varying amounts of white, before realising I should have started top right with the  most orange, so had to try and darken it!

It has struck me since that it has a kind of halloweeny feel to it, not that I really "do" halloween, so might have to try and use that to finish it off.

Last Saturday was another beautiful autumn day at Kew.. check here

lots of shadows... double shadows as regular Kim and I often walk round together now..

I'm the bulky one on the right with my large rucksack full of lenses and stuff I lug around with me!

Having seen the forecast for this weekend (and indeed, the next one too) I am not sure there'll be many shadows - more umbrellas!

but it wont stop me going and getting out in the fresh air!

Happy WOYWW  - see you soon!

God for you not being put off by the rain. Hope the rain holds off everywhere this weekend so that those who work get out and about and stay dry.
Love black with orange and it definitely says halloween. I love a bit of halloween and must get my display up or it will be time to take it down before it's up.

The sage green looks like marbling, I had to look very hard to see what the stencil pattern was! a loving the orange and how manipulatable it is in terms of light and dark. Not sure that’s a real word, but you’ll understand me! I really like the photo of you and Kim, her pointing into the real distance by shadow! a made me laugh when you describe yourself as the bulky one - I underrst2nd why you did, but I had to smile, you’re probably the least bulky friend I have!

Your Kew shadow pic made me smile! You are the least bulky person I know so we’ll blame everything on the equipment, much the best thing to do. Like the journal page, very autumnal!

Wellies and macs make for a dryish walk in the rain but I don't know how you keep your camera dry . . . . do you have a camera brolly?

I'm liking the start of the journal page - orange and black are a favourite colour combo of mine, and not just at Halloween! Love the shadow pic - are you wearing the dress from Jan's blog! - it may look bulky but definitely worth carrying all that camera equipment for the fantastic shots you get.
Hope you have a lovely week,

I think you could make it Halloween if you wanted to but I don’t think orange is necessarily Halloween. It’s a nice orange though. I hope the rain keeps off for you on Saturday. Happy WOYWW.Angela #11

The orange and black does look very Halloweeny! You could go either way, make it a Halloween theme, or maybe a fall theme. The leaves are beautiful where you are too, nice! We are having a week of rain, but the weekend looks good. Hope your rain doesn't last too long! Fall rain can be so bone-chilling! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #20

It's been a full on day of sewing plus we have the twins before and after school every Wednesday so I've had tea to cook for us all after my day's work....I'd rather feed them for a week than a fortnight [you forget just how much growing kids eat]. It's my time now so I'm visiting all my favourite blogs.
I love your latest journal page...the colours really lend themselves to Halloween.

Thanks for your visit. We too will have rain Sun/Mon but we need it bad Burn Ban in effect. But temps are up to 60 now and no winds so I am enjoying outside time. Great colors here. 19 degrees 2 days was pretty much an oddity this early I like your orange stenciling. Time goes so fast, I've so many things on my list to try. Enjoy a great week.

Good luck with the forecast! And yeah, gotta laugh, cause who else would nod along to the addition of "black blobby bits..." to a piece of art? Why just us WOYWW folk right?
:)
Late again, but buy buying cat toys… :D

My first thought on your journal page beginnings was AUTUMNAL, certainly don't do the other thing you mentioned either. I'd definitely add some leaves to it and wording to match. Sorry I didn't make it round last week, I was totally out of it, still "jet" lagged yesterday and trying to get back to normal after COVID too. Did you find the words for last weeks journal page, love it too. Hugs BJ#6

I love the Autumn colours - your comment about your bulky self made me giggle - since when have you been bulky? lol Shadows do funny things. xx Jo

That page does have an autumny feel Helen. Hasn't the weather been glorious? Even the days when it has rained a lot have had their moments. Hope you get a dry visit next week despite the forecast! Have a great week!! Love n hugs Cindyxx #14
