WOYWW 572 - happy birthday to us

We made it to another anniversary - who'd have thought when Julia started this weekly blog hop with a simple question - "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday" that we'd still be meeting, sharing and enabling after 11 years - 572 weeks later!

We normally celebrate by swapping atcs but with the Covid 19 pandemic still rife, and causing havoc with daily life, Julia thought it best not to over-burden the postal services.  Instead she set a challenge - find and finish a project - a UFO or as some like to call them, an unfinished symphony.

Well I showed you a canvas I had a couple of Christmasses ago, that hadn't been touched.  I doubted that I would a) want to do it; b) start it or c) finish it....

Well ye (and me) of little faith...

I had some better photos saved on the computer but blogger won't add them!

That was Saturday afternoon - I used my Pitt Artist pens (indian ink)  which I love, and need some more colours!

Although I don't really enjoy colouring per se, I did have a couple of fun hours doing this, you were all right!

I was on a bit of a roll then and on Sunday had a play in my journal
for some reason blogger won't preview the photos that are stored in my google photos file but will actually add them - hopefully when I publish this you will be able to see them too!
I had hoped to add some more photos but can't persuade blogger to play  nicely so will leave it at that!

Happy WOYWW to us all and especial thanks  to Julia for keeping it going all this time, and to everyone who has taken part, shared desks (11 years on and I am STILL on the floor...)  and enabled* week by week...
*light bulb moment... I have enabling for you..
chickens!  I haven't used any of these yet - maybe by next week.
where was I...  thanks to the friendships, both real and virtual and the support and the encouragement

See you next week for the start of year 12!

Lovely feeling I bet to get that colouring out of the way and blimey, you pulled the anniversary boat out and did a journal page as well. Well done Helen!
Of course the chickens had to be bought for the anniversary right?
Have a good week.

You finished something you were dreading, and did a remarkable job, too. You even added a lovely journal spread and did it in no time at all, unlike me, who used a ton of photos to create my UFO. Thanks for welcoming me back. I am glad to be here, even if it's just for a week or three. Like you, no # yet.

Morning Helen! Happy 11th anniversary. Well done you! It's now done - and can be crossed off that list of fear and dread. Glad you even enjoyed it. I love your journal page, and as for those chickens... great - they remind me of the ones in Chicken Run - one of my favourite silly films.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Well done on completing the canvas.. see there is always a CAN in CAN't... hee hee now treat yourself to some more colours of those pitt pens for all your fabulous work. Love that journal spread and those chicky stamps look very fun, hope you will soon be sharing what you create with them, don't let them become future UFO's. Happy 11th WoywW Anniversary Helen & thanks again for being one of those that pushed me over to the stamping ground to take that first step over 2 years ago... Take care HUgs Tracey xx

Yiour canvas is beautiful, Helen - I love the design with the two birds! Also your journal page. You have been very productive this week! Well done. There certainly is a lot of satisfaction in completing a UFO; a feeling I get all too rarely, it has to be said. Sorry Blogger is playing up regarding your photos. It was because of this that I abandoned Blogger altogether, after it managed to lose all 8 years’ worth of blog photos. Wordpress is working much better for me.

Happy 11th anniversary WOYWW,

Re blogger. Chrome web browser is best..
I use android mobile in Chrome app to add all pickies, but write post in Chrome app on iPad. Only way it will work. I'm now commenting on mobile as Safari wont let me comment on iPad have to use DudckDuckGo browser. Just in case it helps. On computer use chrome or Firefox.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love, in these different times.

Happy anniversary to you too, Helen. My abiding memory of you from my first crop last year is you sitting on the floor near a socket so that you could use your heat gun to dry your journal pages. Catriona

Hi Helen, congratulations on finishing your UFO, especially when you clearly weren't keen. It's beautiful. And you did well to fit in a journal page too. The chicken stamps will make fun pages/cards. After reading about your problems with blogger I have to consider myself blessed as I had no trouble uploading photos today. Here's to a better experience next time. Hugs, Elizabeth x #36

Hiya Helen, Happy Anniversary!! It's hard to imagine you have been crafting on the floor for 11 years (and probably longer....) I know, I agree it doesn't seem that long ago we went to crop! I was quite shocked when I was trying to work out why I didn't have things for certain years to discover quite how long I was missing - In my head I have always been a WOYWWer - but I think it was a blogger issue that put me off initially and ironic to see you have been having problems this week. Well done on sticking with the colouring!! Thanks for the visit, Happy WOYWW Anniversary, stay safe, stay well, Cinfy #26

Thanks for visiting, Helen, and for your good wishes for our anniversary on Sunday which we will celebrate with the kitties on their birthday. Maybe you should dig out those cross stitch projects again! Just getting my UFOs out to photograph them has inspired me to get stuck in and finish at least some of them! I think it's got to be about balance really - not stopping oneself doing anything new or spontaneous just because one's got UFOs to finish first (that way leads to frustration and lack of joy, and probably not doing anything at all!) - and not simply forgetting about the UFOs and forging ahead always with new stuff. Perhaps a bit of this and a bit of that? I am sure I shall end up achieving more than I expected!

Well, trust Blogger to mess up on a day when more photos is a good thing! I love the canvas, and more, I love that once done, it kicked you into doing more of something! Great stuff and now you can gift it as a finished picture to the person who gave it to you!! I love the chickens, they speak directly to me and I’m feeling a bit stamp deprived all of a sudden! Happy Anniversary, and sorry I’m late!

Hello Helen! I love the canvas. It turned out beautiful. Oh but I really love the purple journal pages. They are so pretty. I love the pattern and the shade of purple. I felt the same way when I first pulled out my UFOs but after I started I remembered how much I loved them. The weather is gorgeous today so I am in my garden and then going to work on my deck. Thanks for the visit. Have a wonderful weekend and stay well. I will see you next week!

Great picture, especially as it's finished!
Love those chickens, gonna get myself some of those. My 'local' shop won't be having them for a while but I found somewhere else to supply me . . .
Stay safe and take care

So happy you had fun with the canvas after your doubts - and it looks so pretty. I have a couple of Pitt pens, but I'm not sure they're the same sort as you're talking about... I mostly use them for writing. I love the art journalling background - amazing colours... and looking forward to seeing the chickens in action!
