(I am sticking with my count of the desk weeks..) Hello deskers, it's time again for another WOYWW
I am on holiday from work this week and so far had a day in London (here) and Kew with my cousin (here) so far I haven't had any time to do any crafting - although we are forecast a wet day on either Thursday or Friday, so it may happen then.
Last week I said I'd ordered Seth's new "minis" for Paperartsy and they duly arrived...
and I have had a little play with them on the journal page we last saw on the desk last week under my birthday balloon stars.
I started playing with the stamps, using inks in the same colours as I had been using with the stencils - picked raspberry and mermaid lagoon distress oxides
then I added some more stamping in hickory smoke
then using watering can and vibrant fuschia
I have added a stencilled layer of modellng paste (little squares) to complement some of the stamping - but it is very hard to photograph as it's picked up some of the ink colour
and that, deskers, is as far as it has got.
no idea what stage will come next...
I might try and enhance the stencilling so it shows up more, or I might just add a focal point
Whilst I have been waking (no alarm) early during my week off, it would be typical (when I want to), if I sleep in tomorrow (writing this Tuesday night) but will link when I do, and visit when I can - am intending another day out but it was SO hot today and forecast to be again on Wednesday, might not be very sensible to have another day out in full sun! Happy desk day!

You are certainly experiencing better weather than we up north, although yesterday was sunny and pleasant. Caught up with you at Kew and in London but have the cousin visit to view as yet. Being as I have only had an hour's sleep (tinnitus of all things kept me awake all night) I may as well see how your trip went with your cousin and then go to sleep.
Have a good day as what you do.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Loving the page so far Helen. The stamps look very useful for creating layered backgrounds. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of your days out. Hope it isn't too hot if you do decide on another one today. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
Ooh, those look fun! I must check them out...

I'm so pleased you're having a good break, the weather so far has been amazing. The new stash is amazing and I love the colours on your journal pages (though the Oxide names still make me hoot! Old Bogie, anyone?)

I love the stamps Helen, and I love what you've done with them. I treated myself to three of them this week but it will take me ages to get round to using them I'm sure! Hope you ejoy your time off - I thought you might be on holiday when I saw your were all the way down at #6 today!
Hope you have a great week, I'm off to Kew now!

I do love your new stamps and it looks like you had a ball with them. I'm hoping for a rainy weekend too, so I can get back in my craft room! zsuzsa #23
I came to visit your desk, then realized I had not seen your day in London. Nice that you got all of Seth's latest stamps. You are SO lucky to have such a large (and seemingly endless) art budget. Color me impressed, dear.
I love the grungey look you've achieved with Seth's new stamps, Helen, and your colour choice is gorgeous! Enjoy your brief holiday from work, and I hope the weather stays fine.
Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoyed my watercolour doodles. The kitties are a hoot in the bin, aren't they! Ruby was in there again this morning - obviously the new favourite place - but Lily, who seems to be going through a really naughty phase at the moment, was all over the desk, the dressing table, the windowsills... everywhere she isn't supposed to go! When you tell her off, she answers back!

Hi Helen, in between visiting the desks I've been gardening and what a job it is! I love it but sometimes wish it was smaller. Anyway I'm here now and hope you're having a nice day. Loving the new stamps and look forward to the next stage of your journal page. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x13x

Wow, awesome rubber stamps!!! Those are great for making beautiful backgrounds. They give me itching fingers!
I like the pages so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how you complete them.
Hi Helen, I've spotted that you're enjoying your time off work. It's a law of holidays that given that you have no need for an alarm you most certainly will wake early as usual! Those stamps are perfect for your art journaling. Enjoy what's left of your time off. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24

Morning Helen, so sorry i'm late, had an unexpected visitor when I got back home yesterday so trying to pay a few visits before off to do my Thursday care duties. Glad that your had a wee chance to stamp out those fab stamps, I love watching pastes steal colour from the page it's like magic to watch. Watering Can is a super contrast against those bright colours.
Enjoy the rest of your week off and make the most of outside time taking in the fresh air. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx
Here in the Southern US we are experiencing the hot and muggy dog days of summer! It has been hot and rainy and just hard to spend any time outside! Loving your journal page it is coming along to be beautiful!

Hi Helen, have a wonderful week off work. I've just over another week to go, and then my week's holiday starts. Great colours for the art journal, they go so well together. I've not come across Seth's stamps - seen them mentioned on a few blogs, but not invested in any ..... yet! Love what you have done with them. Have a lovely week, hugs Heather xx #11
