My desk is somewhat bare this week, nothing much happening - was out the whole weekend,
Kew on Saturday
and
Hampton Court Garden Festival on Sunday.
this one's just for Jan!
I have dismantled my birthday cards and thrown out the flowers, thrown out the deflated helium balloons...
but couldn't throw away the stars that were acting as anchors.
they go quite well with the next journal page wip, but are much too chunky to use in a journal, so I will have to think of something else for them...
the leaflet at the back is a promotional thing that came from Kew and has several great pics and bits of articles inside that I want to use in the journal, collage fodder don't you know.
I have got next week off work, not got anything particularly planned, will have a day out here and there; just a break from work will be good!
I am sure you all have much more interestng things on show - and hopefully I will next week as I've just ordered some Paperartsy "mini" stamps designed by Seth Apter that were released today. (Tuesday night) and all being well they will be here by next week's desk day!
Till then, happy WOYWW

Great photos and art desk top.
Look forward to seeing your new purchases next week Helen. Enjoy next week off. I only have to go in for one day next week and then it's the holidays so I am a happy bunny too. Today is my last long day in work. Thanks for linking me up last week. Sarah #4
Ooh, PaperArtsy shopping - and Seth Apter all rolled into one. Fabulous!
So your balloon deflated - I have one (not hanging but on a stick) that I got for my birthday two years, four months ago and it is still going strong. I always thought it strange that it has lasted like it has.
Enjoy your planning for next week - great weather for you,
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Know what you mean about too chunky for journals but those stars would fit well in a mixed media canvas Helen. Look forward to seeing those new stamps hope they arrive for you to have some quality play time in your week off..
Happy WoywW hugs Tracey #8?
Was just reading about the minis at Seth's blog. I look forward to seeing how you spend your vacation next week. You know I live vicariously! Still on WOYWW hiatus.
That Kew photo is amazing, Helen - such an unusual view! Love the pink chunky stars too, and I hope you'll share with us what you eventually do with them.
Happy WOYWW,

Ooh, thanks for the hare pic, they're rather fun eh? I need something like that for me garden, couldn't you fit them in your back pack?? Lol. I think all us crafters cannibalise our cards/presents/wrapping to use afterwards!
Hugs LLJ 12 xx
Hello and Happy WOYWW! Love your photos and how wonderful that you have goodies coming. I've just been introduced to Seth Apter and love all his does. I ordered some Baked Texture but haven't had time to play yet! Have a good week! Glenda #16
collage fodder", I use it all the time! My town brings a touristic 'Middelburg' magazine every year and I take about 5 of those home every year to use the photos in my art journal! I love the bright pink stars, good luck finding the right 'thing' to use those items! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland. Marit #18
It's coffee time here so I've time to call in on my fav blogs and those who started early and have already visited me.
It's always good to give birthday cards another life. Hope you have a great week off.
Hugs,

Hi Helen, just thinking, do you have a scanner, or access to one? You could scan in the stars, then cut them out? Fab pics from Kew & Hampton Court. I think my Ant may have been at HC doing the TV stuff. Have a fab week, a break is always good. Hugs, Shaz #7 X
HI Helen, I'd bet you could paint on one of those stars and use it like a stamp in the journal to get the shape without the bulk?
just a stray thought. love the bunnies too. ~Stacy #23
So sad when all the birthday celebrations are over, but I'm sure you enjoyed them all thoroughly! The stars are awesome - you could use them a stamps, you could scan them, and cut them out to use on your journal pages, you could hang one one on the spine of your journal, or use it as a bookmark hanging from a ribbon below your journal, you could use them with a gelli plate for prints...I'm sure there are more ideas floating around out there! Have a great week, Lindart #24
Hello Helen! I think you could use them with some acrylic paint and stamp the star shape into your journal.
I love the pictures from Kew. Those bunnies are so cute. No post for me this week. But I wanted to thank you for last week's visit and pop and see what you are up to. Have a blessed week.

Hi Helen, my sister has been to Kew today and just sent me a few of the photos she took of the glass 'flowers'. I love the fighting hares too. Enjoy your staycation - always my favourite type of holiday. Hugs, Elizabeth x #25
Hope you’re enjoying your time off, at least you aren’t trapped by persistent rain...mind you, you’re probably trapped at home by the 🎾, it’s very tempting! I saved the ballon stars from my fiftieth thinking there must be a use for them. When you’ve worked out what the use is, let me know!!
Hi Helen, hope you enjoy your week off. I'm sure you will find something interesting to do but just resting is good too. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x14x
Thanks for the visit. Have a great week enjoying all the things you love. I love those stars ~! Great photos you have shared.
Hi Helen, Will be off to look at your Kew photos in a bit.
I love the boxing hares.
Like your journal page with the stars.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW

Hi Helen, sorry I'm late visiting but I knew when I saw you'd been to both Kew and Hampton Court that I would have to allow myself a goodly amount of time to drink it all in and enjoy my visits so I delayed until this morning. I too would keep the balloon weights but like you would have no idea what to do with them - hope you come up with an ingenious idea soon! Have fun with your new stamps when they arrive - I love Seth Apter stamps so I can't wait to see what you've treated yourself to.
Happy WOYWW,
Hugs, Diana x #19
Love those hares!
Thanks for visiting, Helen. Sorry you don't enjoy nuts and seeds etc. There was a time, when I first had my ostomy surgery, that I thought I'd never be able to eat them again, but I can, and I think because of that, I appreciate them even more! If you don't like nuts as such, have you tried nut butters and nut milks? It's a good way to get the whole nut into you without the texture if that's what you don't like.
Glad you like my creative space! Not that there's too much space available at the moment, until I get those boxes put away...

Late commenting again, embedded comment box like yours mean can’t comment on safari so have to wait till time and inclination to go on Firefox .. great pink stars agreed they’re too bulky the two other pics are great too, folks are very interesting in what they create, hope stamps arrive by Wed 😉
Happy belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #20

Will have to catch up on your Kew visits soon, but I've got to go and put in a day's work at the dollshouse museum in a minute (sadly it'll be clearing up Cestina's chaos rather than getting creative myself!). Love those stars - you'll have to move into 3D journalling to use them. Don't know what that is... you'll have to invent a whole new genre!

I do love your Kew photos and looking forward to seeing the new stamps too
