WOYWW 383 - a new toy (or several)

Hi there, deskers and it's Wednesday again already.. time to meet up with Julia and the Gang at the Stamping Ground
Some of you have already seen the review of the Happy Stampers show (here)  the walk round Port Sunlight village (here)  and Liverpool Waterfront (here)  the latter of which just blew me away (helped in no small part by a gorgeous day, warm sunshine and the bluest of blue skies you could imagine for England in October.  follow the links if you haven't and if you want to!

But I will include a quick snap or two here for those of you in a hurry!

Shaz and Neet - I've been blogging since 2009 (golly, THAT long?!) and have known Neet 'virtually' probably for most of that time.  Saturday was the first time we've met... So pleased you were able to make it Neet, and hope you feel a lot better!

It was wonderful to meet this lovely lady at last, and it's always great to catch up with Shaz and Doug.

Sarah Anderson (friend of Chris's), Neet, Shaz and Chris (PearshapeChris)   - everyone kept congregating at Paperartsy's stand... wonder why?!

Stash from Happy Stampers... see, I CAN do minimal - shopping anyway!
and ahem. the desk from Tuesday... I am off work this week (I think I may have mentioned!)  and went into Kingston to the art shop as my bottle of gesso is getting low... I like the Liquitex one and the art shop had a giant bottle that is best part of 1 litre , so it made sense to get the biggest they had!  the price was good too.

A few other pieces "may" have fallen into my basket - some hot press watercolour paper (two for one in the pack, so obviously that was a bargain!) some more micron pens, and a small pad of 'natural' colour card - a pale Kraft.. it's nice!  and er... a new lens for the camera...

I've had my eye on a really wide angle for some time (wanted a Macro as well for all the flowers, but they were a bit lot more pricey... next on the list though!)

this one is 10 mm to 18mm focal length and this is it set at it's widest 10mm... you can see quite a lot more  of my "stuff"...  as I will demonstrate...
this is my "standard" zoom which is 18 mm to 55 mm and it is set at 18mm so this is the most you'd normally be able to see... can't wait to get it out and about to play

(by the time you read this, unless you are very early, I will be out and about with it, in London!)
and this is the view of the room at it's widest 10mm again, back from the doorway towards the window.  oh my...  think I need a radical sort out!!

Hope you all have a good Wednesday, I'll do my catching up with your desks this evening!

and if you want to see London it'll be on "photosbyh" later today!! (click the fountain at the top right)

Now I have a good idea what your entire living room looks like. It all makes sense and I loved seeing the window you leave your cards on when you show them.

Sure glad you got to spend some time with Chris. Neet looked good, and Shaz looks like she's gained a bit of weight. Might not be a bad thing, after all she's been through, I'm surprised she has any appetite at all.

MINIMAL? Maybe for you! I'm really, really drooling over all those stencils! Of course, I drool over ANY stencil.

Have a fantastic day in London. I'll try to check back this evening to see what you were up to today.

Gosh..what a Huge Stash you have. Loved seeing the ladies' photos too. Nice to put a face to a name. Over here in Oz I work by myself...sniff..sniff...(No not really!!!).
I'm not that much of a Group Person.

Love those photos of your room with the various lenses - what a difference a lense makes (sorry, that came out all sing songy).
Gosh Helen, have we known one another for all that time? To think I met up with Shaz in Oz before you when you think about it is ridiculous. Anyway, now I don't have to rely on a photo of you to remember you, I have seen you for real. Just wish I had been on top form - maybe next time you can meet the real me.
Loadsa Hugs (and have a great time with your camera - off for another peek at your room photos)

Lovely photos and so envious of you all meeting up (craft shopping doesn't factor in there AT ALL). Gosh I think you just need to get rid of the furniture Helen, then you would have more room. Have a great week off. Happy WOYWW Cindy xx#24

Wow, is that your front room? And I thought I was a hoarder! Lovely to see Neet, Shaz and Chris on your blog - I recognise all these ladies by now, even though I've never met them. Have fun walking around London. (there's no point leaving my number, so I won't bother)

Whoa, that lens is pretty impressive! I've had my camera for ages and have still not purchased any lenses other than the one that came with it. . . and I think it's broken now too. I may have to look into getting some others now that I see yours. Oh, and those goodies you got, how fun! I'm sure you'll be making some awesomeness very soon!

Hello Helen. WOW your room is truly got some goodies in there. Glad to hear that you all had fun meeting up last weekend......I mostly craft by myself minus my girls coming downstairs to chat or the saying what's for supper. Such fun it would be to go to those scrap conventions. I am so loving those monster stamps and the rest of the goodies that fell into your basket. Have a great time in London and enjoy your week. Thanks for stopping by earlier. Hugs ~Anne L#8

Oh my word... Is that all you bought? I am impressed, but then you might have been side tracked by all the friends you had around you. That 10mm lens does show your space off rather well. I will go check out your photos later of London. #41

Well there you are then, living proof that you only buy stuff if you need it. Good for you! The new lens does make a difference. I understand the room arrangement much better now, I always thought the window was on the long wall. Hope you've had a lovely day, it's been lovely but windy today, so far so good!

I started back then too and have loved every minute. I wish I could meet up with some of you ladies also and have been trying to put the pennies back but now that I am retired the SSDI doesn't leave much to put back. I am glad to see some one else's room is like mine…lots of fun stuff to play with and I love the new lens. Thanks for visiting my desk earlier and leaving a great comment. Vickie #1

Happy Belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing more of your wonderful photos. Great to see all of those smiling faces - and the stash you bought. I still say that perhaps it is good that I cannot get to the shows now, as it does save my credit card! I generally use my smartphone to take all of my photos, but charged up hubby's old camera this week and hoping to find the energy to give it a go. Ali x #26

More great photos of another great day by the look of it. I'm completely befuddled by your whole-room photos though... Do you go in and out of that door at the top right? How?!?

Brilliant to get a look at some of your new goodies too.
