One of my very favourite lessons so far in the Everything Art course, was the one by Birgit Koopsen, last week. She used an image transfer as a focal point, but as I don't have a printer, I just went with the rest of the lesson.
Birgit worked over mop up paint in her journal - something I often do, but because my Wanderlust projects are all in a Kraft journal specifically for the purpose, there are no mop up pages, so I just painted colours and stencilled paint, on the page.
adding some pop of orange and yellow before adding some stamped images.
all paints except the orange, are Frescos, the orange is a Decoart
I took the large scribbly circle and the larger flower from two of Emma Godfrey's plates for Paperartsy, and stamped them randomly on the background before the scary bit..
painting white over the rest of the page to leave the pop of background layers peeking through
then comes the writing and doodling. I was doing this yesterday, on the anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, so took some of his more famous lines from plays and wrote them round some of the shapes.
and the name of the class
had a total ball doing this one and would like to say a big thanks to Birgit for a great class.

Now that is lovely and an interesting technique! This Wanderlust lark is great, you all seem to enjoy it thoroughly!
As always super artwork Helen. Hope you have a good Sunday and yes, three would have been far better.

This is a beautiful page Helen, such lovely pops of colour, you have really embraced the technique set by Birgit. I am behind too with Wanderlust, you have inspired me to crack on and catch up too. Mo x
Really lovely page - this was my favourite class too and I'm glad you had fun with this technique.......scary but in a good way lol! Xx
Looks great, but I really don't get why you would go to all the trouble of creating that fabulous background, and then cover it all up by painting all over it in one solid colour, can't get my head round that bit x
Fab page, have seen lots of these 'blacked out' but your whiteout seems more gentle yet still gives a wonderful pop x
Well done Helen....it really works! Great that you have used frescos too, which are not as heavy as the ones that Birgit used! Xx
That's a gorgeous page Helen....really love the colours that you have chosen too

Oh Helen. I love this!! Great idea to use Emma's stamps for your positive images. I wish that I had now. They work perfectly don't they? I love your colour choices and I really, really love your use of Shakespeare's quotes for your script. A lovely tribute to the Bard! Love it love it love it! Hope you've uploaded this to the members gallery and our group page!!! Birgit looks at all of them. She gave me a lovely comment!
Great page Helen...love your flowers xx
Fantastic page! Love the writing and doodles!
Loving this Helen, great technique. So much gorgeous detail too. Have a great crafty week, Angela x
Brilliant work, fabulous the Emma's images and background colours. White pen doodling and words are great too. Love this page Helen! xx
wonderful how the page transforms from full of color to splashes of color but still so vibrant, very spring, hopefully the weather will follow.
Once again I am so regretting not signing up for this -even though I know I would be trying to find time to do it! I love this page! I have just used part of a Paperchase voucher to buy a kraft journal and started a page this afternoon! Nothing as wonderful as this though! Hugs, Chrisx
Oh, how cool - this looks lots of fun. I haven't even had a chance to watch Birgit's video yet, but definitely looking forward to some catch-up time one day!!
