WOYWW 326 - a wet Bank Holiday

Not sure where the week went to (again!) and it's September too... shorter days and dark mornings... autumn is on the way!  it's time for another WOYWW
Last week at work a client sent us a hamper of wine and food to say thanks - we shared the contents out but my eyes were on the hamper... of course!
Nice, isn't it?

and I reorganised a couple of boxes of packets of bling and chipboard bits and pieces...
and here it is, in situ!  it does get a bit in the way of the keyboard but I've pushed it over a bit now!
so, the wet Bank Holiday yesterday (oops, the day before on Monday I mean) - I met up with a couple of (nonWOYWW) friends in Richmond, London... close to me but I've never been..it would have been  better in the sunshine of course!
but we had a good time!
it the Thames always looks good!
of course a little shopping had to be done (Tiger, a mixed kind of shop but some decent craft items were found...) Wasn't sure if the roll of tape measure tape was paper or plastic (the latter) but only £1 and it will make great background features, and the house shaped candle I have an idea for already!
Alphabet stamps - you can never have too many!

Glad you enjoyed my guessing game last week.. one of you was quite close... but you won't find out till the weekend!

So that's my desk - well, not much of a desk of course, but I'll see you at Julia's for some more desk hopping.

Great basket you snaffled there! Very ha dy I deed. I remember when I still worked and patients would give us nurses a tin of biscuits, I would always ask for the tin. I now have so much supplies housed in those tins.
Thanks for showi g us photos of your Richmond outing. Shame about the weather.
Have agood week,

I'm as bad as you, every decent box, basket or containers of any kind always find themselves stuffed full of crafty goodness. Yours looks a lovely size. Great photos too hope you had fun despite the rain. Hugs Debsxx

Can understand your excitement at the basket - I would have been there too.
Shame about the weather when meeting friends but it is what we are used to - rain on days we plan to go out - still it did not dampen your enjoyment.

I guess in England we have learnt to make the best of a day out and go out prepared for rain so I'm glad you had fun. I really love your hamper basket.....I would have been the same but not sure what I would have put in it [so much of my stash has been boxed up for about 2 1/2 years so I'm not sure what's in a lot of them] :-)
Have a great week,
Hugs,

I love Tiger...especially the tapes. They stick, which is more than most of my washis! Great score on the basket..made me laugh that it was a bit in the way of the keyboard...as in - you FORCE it to fit rather than reconsider it, so me!!

I really enjoyed your photos. Living here in texas rain is rare and when it does it is torrential. No walking in the rain for us. Yes the basket is a wonderful idea for storage.

Baskets are always such a nice find and a great way to store "bits and bobs". Glad you had a great day out - I have only ever been to Richmond in Yorkshire! x Jo

That is a fabulous basket. And so useful for you! We have a sandwich shop that caters and used to bring their food in these wonderful baskets. They'd be by later to collect them but so many vanished before they got back so no more basket catering for them. Wet day or no you and your friend look like you had an enjoyable time and did a little happy shopping.

I'd have been eyeing up the basket too, Helen. There's never enough containers for a dedicated crafter. Lovely photos from your weekend get together - despite the rain :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #37

Well, it didn't rain (for once!) on August Bank Holiday here in sunny Devon!! Love the hamper basket and lol - just like in this house, things have a habit of disappearing into my studio!!

Thanks for your lovely comment - so glad you liked my tiny sneak peek. I've now got permission from the publisher of the book to show it on my blog so I'll be uploading it tomorrow for your delectation and delight. Enjoy!

Happy WOYWW,

I think you got the best bit of the hamper. That basket looks fab and so useful. Bummer about the rain but the Thames sure does look pretty. I have no idea what you plan to do with that candle, the mind boggles!!
