Today saw the launch of the latest Q&L challenge from the Craft Barn... either Art, or Road.... I was going down the "Long and Winding Road" route till I inspected my Stampscapes stamps and didn't really have enough of the right kind of winding road stamps.... and we all know I can't actually draw to save my life (that's why I'm a rubber stamper, lol! )
So, even though the Picasso quote was used by two of the DT artists, I went there too..
I've used some of the new Paperartsy Limited Edition Frescos, Amethyst, Dusty Teal and Chalk. Put some drips on the page, then brayered to blend.. panicked about the wrinkles but luckily they dried out!
Stamped 'art' and 'soul' from my Dylusions 'word love' set, stencilled the solid flower in Dolly Mix and over-stencilled the dotty flower in Amethyst (stencil by Lin Brown for Paperartsy)
love it!!
My main centrepiece was made on a scrap of thin card, with the same paint colours but brushed not brayered to keep the colours darker. Stamped the Deep Red rubber quote and trimmed, distressed and edged with Black Soot DI.
did the same on a second scrap but cut it into pieces for the other page.

Oh pretty...I had, to be honest, thought at the brayering stage that it was a bit of a muddy puddle. But I should know better than to question your tactics, huh..it looks fab. And no getting away from it, however often anyone uses the quote, it's wonderful..
A wonderful page and a wonderful quote! Inspirational! Julie Ann xxx
Thanks for letting me know I wasn't out of my mind by not being able to find the Linky.
I have that stamp, or I did at one time. It never occurred to me to use it, though. I guess we both stay away from drawing because we can't, but YOU can stamp, and I dig through magazines and junk mail to find collageables. Guess we both find a way around drawing.
Speaking of which, I adore that background. Your wrinkles would have had me heading for the hills. I was thrilled to see how you worked it out, and with such beauty, too.
Great entry, and great quote. So who is this guy Picasso, and what makes him so important (joke, at least I hope you knew I was joking)?
Fab use of the stamp quote Helen, i got that same one last year.
Fab pages to go with fab quote:-) xxx
Lovely gentle piece. BJ
Lovely use of the new colours - yes, I'm starting to see I might "need" them - and the painty layers are gorgeous.

It's a truly wonderful quote that deserves being used a lot (so much so, am going to scribble it in my little book!)

I thought I'd already commented but I can't see it.It may be a quote that's been used already but you have created a very unique DPS.I love the layers and the depth in your backgrounds.
Beautifully coloured background and a great quote to go with it!!
It is a great quote and I nearly used it too, but I would not have given the justice you have,
Love your beautifull page and the colours.
The colors in this piece are so soothing. The quote is one of my favorites. I enjoyed seeing how you created your page, too!
