WOYWW? 162

So, what is on your workdesk Wednesday? It is time to spill the beans... Queen Julia will be inspecting later...

I went to Newbury (in the rain, of course, this being the wettest British summer I can remember.... I have been going to the Artstamps show at Newbury for years and years - and NEVER remember rain - it is normally such a gloriously hot day.) However, I went.  I am not sure if it's my style that's changing but there wasn't as much there this year that grabbed me.  I may not go next year....then again I might!  It may be that I had such a fab time the weekend before at the Craft Barn...There were certainly fewer stands than normal..... but here is the stash pile (well, you have to, don't you?!)

But it's put away now - well, as 'away' as anything gets in my flat! On my desk today (well, Tuesday night as normal, but it will still be there in the morning  today) is a journal page in progress for Simon Says challenge and these Artistic Stamper stamps I chose as a random prize for a card I entered in a challenge in June
I just forced myself to mount them so they are ready to use soon! (don't you hate that job?!)
Lastly is a new tier to my blending tool spinner! a few gaps on it so I need some more blending tools, but I will rectify that soon...

Anyhow, you have desks to check out so be off with you, I'll catch you later.  That old jar of paintbrush water behind it needs changing, it looks a nasty sort of yellow colour (from the journal page above, obviously, it's not a specimen jar..............)

You may send some of that water to me. We are in 100 plus F (38 plus C) heat wave and a drought. I only wish the earth could figure out a way to equally distribute temps and water.

Sounds like your weekend was a disappointment, but you got a few nice things. And, no, I don't hate mounting stamps because I don't do it (grin). I throw some wacky tac on the back and wait for it to dry. Then I use a clear block, after which I pull it off, wash, and the WT sticks so you can use it over and over and over. Happy WOYWW from #1

I think we all have similar specimen jars on our desks. It's when you drink from them instead of your cuppa that it is cause for concern. Quite a few of us have admitted to that late at night.

Of course 'you have to' that's what it's all about, having fun. Love the word stamps, need those, and your journal page, great colour despite the 'specimen jar' water.

Wow, I love that extension to your spinner, it looks great and so does your journal page. If you got all that stash at Newbury then perhaps it was not so bad, but am guessing you got it at he Craft Barn, so many people enjoyed that weekend, I am a bit envious! Happy WOYWW, Anne x #54

Thats a pretty good haul considering you weren't very inspired!! Love the pretty snowflake acetate. I didn't realise you could stack the twirly ink blending tool stand - do you have to buy a whole stand or is their a tier kit available? Your page reminds me of honeycomb - fab chicken wire background. WOYWW Hugs from Helen 69

Oh I just love seeing people's stash. Your journal page could do with my new £1 stamp from Hobby craft of a bee - LOL BJ#80

Oh love the warm journal page (unlike the wet and cold summer day LOL!) I was at Newbury on Saturday - wearing my WOYWW badge - but it was suck a crush of people and I had such a short time there I only saw two people I knew to chat to. And it was a bit of a misery, wasn't it? It's like they mention a hose pipe ban and it's been raining ever since ....

Lovely new goodies H, it looks to me like you're thinking of Fall and Winter! Have you given up on Summer completely? Hopefully you'll get a lovely Indian Summer like last year. Great stamps, always nice to win something, I've been a bit bereft in that department this year, at least my card is making up for that!

Hi Helen, I wonder if it was the nasty weather that accounted for the lack of participation at Newmarket ... the rain stopped just about everything else last weekend. The sun has come out to play here today - yippee!

You still brought back lots of lovely goodies - I've spied a Graph45 paper pack and some pan pastels ... lovely :) I reckon you'd need quite a sizeable new stash box/basket for your desk :)

Thanks for visiting and for the tip about adding more water to my inky backgrounds - will give it a try.

Whew! Good to know not a specimen jar. We were starting to worry about you. Look at all that fun, fun stash! I love getting a haul of stash like that but then I never know where to start. I hope you jump in soon! Great journal page, too.

Fabulous stash. But your background really stands out. It's great. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thank you for stopping by and loving my backgrounds! Happy WOYWW. rachel, #11

I am so disappointed you said the Newbury show wasn't very good. I went to the one in Chepstow last year and it was the same. They have moved it to Swansea this year and I doubt I will be going as it is a little far! Nice that you still got some goodies though!
I see we are both sporting new tiers on our spinners this week too! I need to get some more blenders but that doesn't take long now does it?
As for my cleaning your room, I will if I can remove all items I take off your desk into the boot of my car as payment!! LOL!

I am jealous yep to be able to go to a craft show and purchase, they are always happening on fridays or weekends and people like me work these days predominately and it is not fair but then again think of the money I am not spending. LOL

Seriously lovely stash and that spinner I have just purchased one it is still in the post and I cant wait. In time I will want another tier I am sure of that.

thanks for sharing.

Flippin' heck missus! How much did you buy?! Sorry. That was rude. Flippin' heck missus - anything left on the list?!!!! I think I might make my spinner two high instead of two side by side. More room! Should have been clever like you! Mwah!

So glad you still managed to spend Helen.
Know what you mean about mounting stamps - a job I detest, but you have a lovely page there.
Sorry I am late this week and thanks for the good wishes. Hugs, Neet #47 xx

Glad you cleared up any potential confusion over the water jar/specimen jar.... tee hee....

Nice haul you had there! We nearly went to Newbury, kept wavering back and forth, but decided against it and are saving our pennies for another time. Or for a spree on the Third Coast website...

Thanks for stopping by!
