What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday - 97

Mornin' all! Hope you've had a good week?  Once again it is time to join up at Julia's to snoop around the various workspaces of the world.  Sorry I didn't get to as many of you as I'd have liked again last time.

So, what have we here?
My tag for this week's Simon Says challenge details for which you can see here

Some odd bits and pieces tht I was messing about with - the "dream" mover and shaker die (I got hold of a base plate to cut it in) and just tried it on a couple of things (spare bit of tag, grungepaper) just not sure what to use them on....

and my draft CV - looks like if the job doesn't fold it will be much changed from what I can comfortably do and am thinking I may have to look around for something else anyway!
I am totally rubbish at interviews - only ever had 2 jobs so it's not something I have much experience at, and I know everyone feels the same, but..... still we'll see!  So if anyone knows of a company close to Sutton (bearing in mind I don't drive!) that needs an ace office administrator - full time, and preferably paying megabucks! - let me know, LOL!!

Anyhow, I have waffled on long enough, you have places to go and desks to see - be off with you. Have a good WOYWW.

The butterfly tag is beautiful, really light and airy like its subject matter. Good luck with the job search; that's a nice crisp looking CV you have there. In my previous life, I did a lot of recruitment (including weeks of interviewing), so if I can help at all with what to do at interview , do let me know.

You know what they say Helen - "picture the panel sitting in their undies" when you are in the interview. Not tried it myself but it might work. Sorry to hear about the job.
Love your tag - nice colours and those butterflies and the text look rather good to me. #26

I'm loving that tag, but worried since I read about your job. I hope things work out well, and I know what you mean about interviews. Not sure I even know how to handle them. I sincerely hope all turns out for the best.

I love your tag, it's fabulous. Really must start doing stuff with inks. (still haven't got any just the pads) I haven't been on a job interview in a hundred years... in my last one, I was asked... if you were a domestic appliance what would you be? A washing machine? no a tumble dryer,ah! an iron, no, don't do much of that! ah, but then maybe I would...oh I could be a hoover..vacuum cleaner (I thought I'd better call it by it's right name) anyway...I went on and on and on... Good luck, don't worry, this first one counts as practise for the job coming up that you really want! Happy WOYWW!!

Just went to my blog and saw your comment about the gift. You should have gotten it by now. I know it's not here and it didn't come back to me. I will make you something new if you don't get it soon. I'm really, really sorry this happened. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I like the dies..but I want different words..maybe an alpha....no doubt you'll do something and I'll change my mind! Gah, sorry to hear about the job..also while they're in their undies, remember that half of them aren't as experienced as you...I once had to help a panel interview for a new MD..3 of 4 of us had no cluse as to what we were doing. Very common apparently.

Oh the background on the tag looks lovely. And heck, if I could pay you in spare stash, I could use an office manager for my LIFE. It's just too chaotic, esp. with the kids home underfoot (sick during the holidays, so poor them but YAY for me as they would be home anyway LOL!)

gorgeous tag!

I interviewed a lot in my last job. Sometimes you have to remember that they are as nervous as you are - they dont want the wrong person, so just try to build rapport. If you want some other tips drop me an email and I'll try to help if i can.

have a fab wednesday

Gorgeous tag you have created! Love the butterflies!
It's been over 15 years since I had to do an interview, so I don't have any good tips besides just try to let your winning personality shine through! Best of luck to you!

Darn! I need one of those base plate thingies!!!
Is there anyone (apart from my dear departed DH who used to apply for a job just for fun sometimes!! I ask you?!) who likes interviews?
Perhaps that's the key, make it fun...part of the nerves I'm sure is because so much rests on having a job in the first place!
I'm sure there is just the right job waiting for you. Good luck

Love the tag ...and the 'dream' would look great on a LO.
I only had two jobs in my working career ...the second was a total switch after being a mum for 12 years. I had 5 interviews for jobs I could have done standing on my head ...by the fifth I had worked out why I didn't get the others and made sure there was nothing they could fault me on. Good Luck xx

Nice looking desk. Very nice tag there! I worked at one place for over 23 years and had to change jobs a couple years ago and didn't like having to orient and redo everything. Hope it works out for you so you can stay at the same place. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #78

Fab tag... .channel your energies into your art and don't worry. Sometimes the change is for the best. I was made redundant and ended up in a totally new career I loved.
For the interview get a spray of Dr Bach Rescue Remedy... works great for stress, panic, nerves, worries etc.,... Natural remedy too!

Hi Helen - love the butterfly tag!

If you want any hints or tips on CVs or interviewing, drop me a message or something - I'm in HR so can probably help you with your job hunt from a preparation point of view. First recommendation is to have several CVs tailored to the jobs you're applying for! Thanks for stopping by...

That background on your tag is really effective - suits the little butterflies so well, echoing the black print. Good luck with the job hunt/CV - are there any craft businesses that need a really good administrator?

Gorgeous tag! About the interview, I found it helped me to go on "practice" interviews. Jobs I liked, but didn't think I'd get offered. That way I got practice at answering questions without the deadly pressure of geeeeeeeeeee I want this job. Your mileage may vary of course. #8

Tertia said...

Lovely tag! Don't sweat the interview, I am sure you will be fine and the job will be yours, thats if it pays enough to keep you in stash of course! If not this one, my mom always used to say its because there is something better waiting and she was never wrong.
Happy WOYWW

Ooooh. I do love that dream die. Like several of the others I've done quite a lot of recruitment in my time, so do get in touch if I can be of any help with hints about applications and interviews.

Lovely butterflies and tag. Good luck with the job hunting. My last interview was a disaster, so I do not think I am good for advice, apart from - be yourself and remember that if it is the right job for you, it will be yours.
