Hi all. Well, got the phone fixed, so I am in contact with the world again. (ok, so I had my mobile (cell if you prefer) but I am not a big user of it.) Anyhow I managed to get an appointment for Saturday afternoon, so I didn't have to take any time off work which is always good.
It also gave me Saturday morning to do the weekend shopping chores and - erm - move some of the stash that lives in the way of the phone socket. You may have seen in the post from the time, the stuff I had to move - most of it went to the bathroom!
And the living room window cill
Just so the engineer could get here :
(You didn't know I had carpet did you!)
then it all had to go back. I ended up moving some of the stuff around a little so the drawers of inkpads are at the other end nearest the TV now instead of towards the doorway, but that's all. (the shock of vacuuming was too much, I couldn't reorganise the stash as well!!)
But the piles do look a bit neater for now (and the dust has gone off the Melt pot so may get to use that soon!)
This is meant to be a chair for sitting on! The box contains all sorts of "stuff" some of which you've seen before but has become a bit of a pre-altering dumping ground!!
So, what IS actually on my desk this Wednesday? Well, my nephew Robert is going to be 21 next week, so I have made his card (yes, I know how early am I?!) But I will be away as I am going to stay with my mum for a few days at the weekend - it is her birthday on Saturday - so I had to get this done early
Rob is autistic, he has Aspergers syndrome, and shares a house with other boys (or maybe boys and girls) under supervision. My sister, his mum would be so proud of him.
And because I have used (although not much, admittedly) metal - this is my Simon Says "metal" challenge from yesterday's post.
I may not be back in time from Mum's to join in next week, although I hope to.
In the meantime, if you need to check out what I have been showing you all these weird pictures of boxes and patches of carpet for, hop over to Julia's for all the info.
Have a great Wednesday

My back hurts just thinking about all that work to tidy. Poor you. But the card is fab - I love the soft colours and that stamp of man-with-umbrella is one of my faves.

Sorry, I think you used a foreign word there.... hoovering....what is this thing? The dust bunnies have taken over my house and are so advanced they are now a sentient species so it would be a crime, genocide even, to get rid of them!

Your card is lovely, Helen, must catch up on your other posts as well, and it really stinks to have to move stash around, I forget where I put everything, then!

A horrid job having to move everything about, but an impressive sort out.
And a super card.

I can empathise with the 'stuff shifting syndrome' we've been emptying our loft so that it can be re-insulated on Friday!
Well done on all the sorting out!
Chrissie
What's this "hoovering"!!!!! Not sure I have come across that before. Blimey you have been busy, I hope the engineer appreciated all you did for him.
Your card is absolutely stunning. I love The Umbrella Man and he works so well with all the other images you've used.
Enjoy your weekend with your Mum.
hugs Lisa (122)
Great post Helen! Am really liking the wooden drawer setup you have. Lots of treasures - big "to do" list in your box and Happy Bday to Rob:)

Sometimes we r forced to look at our stash and we find things or better places to put things, as in your case, so it's all good, isn't it? Your desk looks like fun times ahead. Nice card! Thx for commenting on my blog. Have a nice WOYWW.

Fab card Helen, I'm sure your nephew will love it and as for hoovering......that's such a rude word!!!!
oh you reminded me of the time the phone engineer came unannounced and pulled out my sofa to check the connection and it all happened so fast I just pretended to be someone the house owner has asked to be in for the house call because the mess under and behind the sofa was so shameful, as soon as he had gone I hoovered and cleaned only to hear Niall yelling 'Its too Late Now He'll tell EVERYONE he knows that you have the worse behind the sofa mess in The Whole Universe...." and " he never fell for your 'I don't live here' ploy either... shame shame I live in shame!

You do what I do put stuff on chairs and alter them. LOL. Thanks for the snoop.

Well Helen, I'm not early this week. Had lots of blogger 503 errors today, that's why I'm late. You moved a mountain of stuff, but I realize you have three mountains you didn't have to move. Bet you're glad that's over. Have a good time with your mom and wish her a happy birthday from number 2 this week!
I am so in LOVE with this birthday card...OUTSTANDING!!!! thanks for stopping in today too...have a good visit with your mum! Sue #25

That's the first time I've ever seen a stash of crafty goodies in a bathroom - lol - still, needs must and it looks as though you're getting back to normal again.
Your birthday card is lovely, bet Robert will love it!
Hope you have a lovely time with your Mum and that she has a fab birthday.

Love your Simon Says "metal" challenge entry! Thanks for visiting my blog. Aisling # 139 who failed to be the last one in the list. A total of 151 participants, can you imagine?!

You are soooo funny! I agree, doing the carpet and desk in the same day would be too much of a shock. The stamps might run hide!
Thanks for sharing a look at your stuff, and the card is great!
Hugs, Pat Smith
I'm the same as you with a whole sofa covered in stash! I did get some shelves to put the stuff on instead, but somehow it still migrates back to the sofa... Great card, hope you have/had a good weekend with your mum
Alison #62

Lovely stash and card! I know I can't reorganize if I have done some other of cleaning lol. Hope you were able to sit down and create something whilst recovering! TFS :D

Love Robert's card, really nice images. Actually, I never thought I 'd say this on anyone's blog, but I do love your carpet! I think that you're right, the shock of hoovering is enough for now, and for me the shock of thinking you'd started taking over the bathroom!!
Crafters have s secret rule... Without Chaos and disorder there is no creativity!! I love the card you made for your nephew.
