WOYWW 831

Hello deskers, welcome to another week's WOYWW .    I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend (well in the UK anyhow)

I bought some new (ok, more, new)  goodies...

I even had a play with the new stencils too.

Saturday at Kew was the first early for the summer,  so headed out at 6... a bit earlier than needed but a girl has to be first in line...

this is the new interactive installation (you can stand on the mat in front of the artwork and wave your arms, making the blue swirly dots move in time to your movement - there are cameras mounted either side of the piece)

the first of the poppies are coming out.

I should have done with Kim did though, and go again on Monday (I was watching the VE Day parade on tv) because I wouldn't have missed ...

....this!

so annoyed with myself, as I was awake in  more than time to go to be there for 8 again.

when we were there on Saturday we didn't think it would open quite so soon!

ah well!

it will be collapsed by now, they only flower for 24 hours.

Till next time, happy WOYWW (still not made my ATC for the virtual swap, must do that this weekend!)

WOYWW 830

Morning deskers, we find ourselves at Sarah's CraftShed again for WOYWW  - another week has flow by.

I had a great few days off work, that went too fast of course,

I added some text to the journal page from last week
I made another birthday card with Alison Bomber's stamps (and stencil in the background)
and another journal page on Sunday, which was finished off (if you can enlarge to see the text)  once Liverpool sealed the Premier League...

and started another page with lots of scribbles!

I also got in a further 2 trips to Kew - the regular Saturday one and on Thursday (combined with the Tower)

I cannot believe that it is May tomorrow - but at least that means Kew's member 8 am opening starts (even if it does mean waking around 5 on Saturdays, but so worth it)

thanks for looking - see you soon!

WOYWW 829

checking in for WOYWW again, Wednesdays do come round fast.... since last week I have finally got round to sorting the new washing machine and it came Tuesday, I have taken some extra days off this week so am at home today.

Had some more play time at the weekend in my Dina ledger journal

I started a new page using 2 of the new Dina paints (haven't learnt the colours yet) and an early piece of collage tissue (the scribbly shape) and a stamped face

I expect I'll work on it some more during the wet weather we're forecast this week

I added lots more layers to this one that I started last week, stencil and masks, tissue collage, more stencilling

After the washing machine was installed (yay for an early delivery/installation, quite by chance) I got a couple of loads of washing done and decided on the spur of the moment to head to Kew

so you get bonus Kew -  today's    and Easter Saturday's!

WOYWW 828

Welcome back, deskers,  it's time for another WOYWW hosted by Sarah .

It's been a bit of a sparse week, hardly any crafting and no craft shopping....

I did use some of the new Dina paints on a page in the ledger journal - breaking the habits of a lifetime, opening the journal at random rather than working in order, which I always, ALWAYS have done until now...

and one of the Dina bold botanicals stamps - I used the versafine clair "morning mist" which is a grey, as black would be too stark.

I wasn't going to fill the page, but I got carried away...

now it needs a focal point. words, and who knows what...
but it was the Masters weekend (golf) and I spent hours (and hours) watching it on TV until the early hours of Monday morning.. go Rory!!

Watching on TV, but with the radio 5 commentary on, as they paint such great pictures with their words, and really make it magic.  I have to say, at the end, I shed a tear..  along with half the commentary team!

There was time for Kew on Saturday, of course.  after a chilly start it turned into a beautiful day.

and because April has (until today) been so dry, it was possible to do this

for pictures like this!

and tulips are taking over (to an extent)  from tree blossom (although there was still plenty of that)
these were some of my favourites!

I'm really looking forward to a break for Easter and have taken a few extra days holiday next week so of course the weather is changing... ah well!

thanks for popping by, and I hope you have a happy WOYWW

see you soon!

WOYWW 827

Well, here we are, Wednesday and time for WOYWW with Sarah

I shopped - again!
Dina brought out some new paints, and stamps
i wasn't quick enough for the stencils so waiting for a restock,

I did get another bag of paper dolls by Tim though.

I added lots more layers to the journal page from a few weeks ago - some of them are with the new goodies above

still think it needs something - something handwritten or a big quote.

I never know how all these people who put videos on you tube come up with such good quotes all the time.

Kew is stunning currently, lots of Spring springing...
this was from last week

we're allowed in at 9 for an Easter kids thing - Supertato (no, never heard of him either)  so that's great!!

That's it from me for this week, happy WOYWW, see you all soon.

WOYWW 826

Happy April - and WOYWW.  Head to Sarah's for the link up and nose-round!

we'll start with new goodies!
and a card I  made with some of the Alison Bomber stamps from last week

the card base is actually cream but the phone doesn't pick it up well.
and a journal page with some of the Paperartsy tissue (the stuff they used as packing filler before deciding they could sell the stuff!)

I coloured the pieces with Neocolour II crayons.
how long is it since I used them... ahem!!

it's a WIP of course!  they need work to make them seamless and blended.

Had a lovely walk at Kew on Saturday in warm sunshine...

it was packed, as it was 10k fun run day
cherry blossom
pasque flowers

sunlit magnolias.

Thanks for dropping by
I'll be round when I can!

WOYWW 825

Hello deskers, another Wednesday has rolled round... Head to Sarah's for the link to WOYWW and share your crafty spaces..

the new goodies I was expecting last week, duly arrived at work on Wednesday

I opened the pack of tissue so you could see some of the design, it's Alison Bomber's tissue along with one of her new stamp sets and 2 of her stencils, and the smaller one is a Stencil Girl stencil by Seth Apter.

I probably shouldn't have caved in, because Paperartsy have new releases again this week and yesterday (at the time of writing) I splurged ..... badly... again!   Hopefully they'll be here for next week!
I used Seth's stencil in a square journal and then a couple  of his stamps that came a few months ago. round the edges.
I also stamped the lavender on watercolour paper and used a purple Mattint to colour them,  along with the leaves.
I've since fussy cut them out ready for use somewhere!

Kew wasn't exactly bright and sunny on Saturday, but it was mild... and the blossom was much more present.

all very pink! but beautiful

Can't promise lots more crafting next week, but probably new goodies!!

Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 824

Who can believe it's time for WOYWW again already?  Work is crazy-busy and the days fly by... and it's Wednesday again!

Sarah is head- desker and you can join in with us here

Well, you all know me so well.. I caved in at the weekend and ordered some of the new Paperartsy bits...I was watching the football and Liverpool losing the cup final so needed cheering up...   sadly the mail hasn't arrived yet so you'll have to wait to see what I bought for next week!

I did make a birthday card though for Kirsty at work, it's her birthday at the end of the month (go me, really early!)

I'd watched an Alison Bomber you-tube video on Sunday morning which inspired me - she did a tag, but I knew I could adapt it to a card.

took a piece of patterned paper and added some stamping and a Tim Holtz paper doll and a piece of cheesecloth.

I am determined to use up stuff so this was a good start!

Had intended to do some more work to the "birdy" journal page but that didn't happen.

my Kew buddy Kim and I had sunshine at Kew last weekend, though it was cold...

the sunny week had been kind to the magnolias

and so was some of the blossom.

Looking forward to seeing what's changed by this weekend (except it might be wet...)

that's it for me, happy WOYWW and see you soon.

WOYWW 823

Another week has flown by and it is time again for WOYWW to share our crafty spaces...Sarah has the link

I put this page on FB  at the weekend, it was a bit of a failure in various stages....

but the image (Lonely Girl by Dina Wakley, one of my favourite of her stamps) in 2 shades of red Versafine Clair and then a pink one on collage tissue.
words by Seth Apter for Paperartsy -I sort of like it now.

it started like this, with patches of paint (Paperartsy frescos) which I really didn't like
so knocked it back with gesso, then stencils and stamps, by which time I really didn't like it...

then more gesso and stamped the images (in the top picture)

so after that I took to the new Dina ledger journal and started another page

circles are scribbled with  a neon scribble stick and the birds are from a newish release of collage tissue.

Kew on Saturday was glorious - warm, sunny and SPRING.... shame it's getting colder again

but the blossom is back,  and the magnolias won't be long (they are late this year)
the crocus were loving the sun

thanks for visiting, I will be round when I can - happy desk sharing!

WOYWW 822

Welcome again fellow deskers - another WOYWW has rolled around.. Sarah has the link details

I've even less to share this week,  I managed to NOT buy any of the new Paperartsy stamp sets that were released last week... I know, right?!

but so that I have something to show for my week, I made a card...

I did mean to stamp some words and put them on it, but kind of .... stopped!

Some of you saw the photo I put on FB as I was on my way to Kew last Saturday...

it was really cold too..

but (and for once the forecast was right) it got better...

and we found blossom - Spring is coming!
huge shadows and blue skies, yay!

and my favourites!

thanks for looking, see you soon, and happy WOYWW
