WOYWW 685

Hello, welcome to WOYWW  time to join Julia and the gang again - there is even less on my "desk" this week..

two reasons - one several of you saw on FB -

yep, it got me!  tested on Sunday after feeling when I got home from Kew on Saturday that I had a cold, sore throat... but no...
I reckon it must have been Wednesday, in London that I caught it, it was one of the hot days when I only wore the mask on trains, not inside the Abbey or anywhere else....

so I've been isolating at home, and now working from home,...

the hottest day ever in the UK  so this is my workspace today (well Tuesday as I write this)  ...

it's been following me around the room trying to blow air - hotter than I would like - at me...

the only plus side of working from home is that i didn't have to go outside to get TO or from work!

I'm hoping it will go soon - I don't feel bad now, the first day was pretty coldy but no aches and now it's like the end of a normal cold.

so hopefully I will be negative by Saturday or I will have to miss Kew!

so I'll leave you with the link to Kew from last Saturday

and a happy sunflower to cheer us all up.

Oh I do hope you are better soon Helen - what a nasty way to finish your time off work. Glad you haven't been too poorly though. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

So sorry to hear that Helen but you've proved to me that we're not the silly ones in the supermarket that still wear masks. We've carried on in order to try and protect my mum but there's hardly any one else wearing them. Hope you're better soon. It's breezy at the moment but I know it's going to be hot again, wish it was snowing Lol! Take care and stay cool, Angela x10x

The thing is you can catch it anywhere, numbers are going up here loads as well. I’m desperately trying to avoid it as we’re playing in the Eisteddfod in two weeks time! I’m glad you’re on the mend now, you must have been grateful for not having to go on public transport in that heat.

So sorry you have covid. If you feel exhausted and achy, the antihistamine Cetirizine can help, along with Vit C, D and zinc. Caro’s GP friend recommended it and I took it after consulting my GP. It helped me anyway.
Your Kew photos were beautiful, especially the sunflowers and the water lilies.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Yikes. Glad it sounds like a mild case. My friend (with asthma)has long covid and she really suffered. She was very unlucky to catch Delta right at the tail end, before the milder Omicron took over. But poor you, having it with the horrid heat as well! Hope you soon feel back to your old self and back to Kew.
Happy WOYWW!

Oh poor you, not being tip top in this weather is hard anyway, but Covid gets you in weird ways. Hope you’ve been able to sleep. Seems the big heat is over for now, although todays temps are more like our good summers days! Take care, fluids and pills and sleep for you. Xx

Sorry to hear that, Helen. I do hope it is going to be better very soon. We can not do anything about the weather, unfortunately, we have nearly the same temperature here in Denmark.

I wish I could visit Kew Garden, I missed the visit last time I was in London.

Thank you for sharing.

How good that it sounds as if it is a very mild dose of covid, hope it soon disappears and you can get out and about.
Fans just spread the air that is there so not much relief in heat like we had - I never thought I would craft in the wee hours again but I did.

Best Wishes, so you can return to normal quickly. Not fun to deal with a sore throat, and aspirin helped me. Seemed like a summer flu here, but I think allergies with this weather etc can cause lots of issues. We are trying to keep water available for the animals/birds during this heat. We need rain for the crops Enjoy a good week

So sorry your week was spoilt by Covid. Really hope you shake it off very soon. We have fans in nearlt every room and aren't they a blessing? We hang a bottle of ice in from of ours to reduce the temp it's blowing and that helps.

Hi Helen, sorry to hear you have Covid and hope you are able to go to Kew on Saturday. Is this your first dose? My sister and her husband have had it three times. Thought there would be less cases in the summer, but apparently not. Wishing you well. Happy WOYWW. Angela #9

Sounds like you're well on the road to recovery. And hope you're able to keep cool! It's very hot here, too. Ugh.
Thanks for popping by and get well soon!

Oh what a pickle getting Covid, but that seems inevitable vaccinations or not these days. Hope you are feeling better now and testing clear. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it again having been with 1000's of people at the graduation ceremony, if the amount of people wasn't bad enough!! So glad the heat is over although I'm still struggling with it all. Hugs BJ#8
