WOYWW 472

Well I think it's 472... there was a bit of confusion at Head Desker's last week... anyway link this week's desk here   Link?  What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday.... I'll show you mine if you.....

Recently I had the chance to buy a journal kit from France Papillon - it came in super quick time - based on her Journal on Monday videos she does for Facebook/YouTube  - I will keep it nice somewhere until I pluck up the courage to use it!
the little airmail envelope (which I'll be saving to use on a project, obviously!) contains the needle and some thread to fix the pages together..

I've had a somewhat tricky birthday card to make for one of my cousin's, who's birthday is next Monday, the day before mine; she's been going through a tough time mentally recently.
There is no chance of her seeing this so I can share what I came up with..
Wasn't appropriate to use a "happy" birthday sentiment; luckily my friend Lesley suggested this alternative (could I find one?  no,  but I did unearth a gorgeous alphabet set I'd forgotten about!) (Penny Black if you're interested; probably long discontinued)
Can't quite believe that next Tuesday I'll be entering the last year of my 50's.... where did that time go???

Anyway, I promised you Kew photos from last Saturday - only took 500 this time... so if you have a while (ahem) there are some on the post here

Hi ya Helen.. I was a little confused by the numbers too last week so i'm sticking with the 472 (I think too?!)
Nice journal, hope you don't keep it too safe you can't find it. The little airmail envelope is cute, reminds me of the old milk money envelopes we used to use at school hee hee!
You cousins card looks perfect to me, hope it cheers her up and she is getting the support she needs..
Happy Birthday for next week if I don't get chance to say it before, hope you get lots of cake!!

I just finished my post, and I also wondered if it was week 472. Thankfully 'm not the only confused person today.

That new journal looks lovely. You are brave to put it together.

I want to be one of the first to wish you a very happy birthday next Tuesday. I hope you celebrate in style, just like your desk today. Happy WOYWW from ?. I'm sure you know where to find me, though!

Morning Helen. Firstly, I trust you have a very special day for your birthday next week. A mere youngster compared to moi!! I really like the card you have made for your cousin - you long to wish her a happy day, but sometimes it's hard - I had a similar one to make a couple of weeks ago. Took me ages to find the right words...
take care. God bless.

Well no one was as confused as me about the numbers!!
Love the sentiment you went for on the birthday card. If I rummage a little, I have that alphabet too. Love it. Never use it, of course!! I did page through the Kew pics...I think you should draw their attention to your blog, by the way. I usually do it from FB and for some damn reason, google won’t let me leave a comment through FB and then I get cross and close the page and erm, forget. Sorry!

Oh the kit is lovely but I think I would be stroking it rather than using it too as it is so pretty.

The card is awesome as always, lovely happy colours.

The card is just fab and you've found the perfect solution to a tricky card. I love the alphabet stamps - what a great style and they suit the little bird very well. I hope you get to use your journal soon - don't put it away whatever you do, or if you are like me you'll forget all about it!
Happy Birthday for next Tuesday, hope you have a very special day,

Love the card you’ve made, did you make the BG? It’s great, actually I think your sentiment seems more personal than happy birthday so perfect.

Good morning, Helen.
It is indeed week #472. I've gone through my planner and placed a tracking sheet on each Wednesday with them being numbered accordingly. Love your card. So cute. Fun when we can unearth a forgotten something or other in our work space and make it new again. As for birthdays, I'm only a year and a half behind you. Just does not seem possible. Days I really feel my age and the rest of the time I think I'm not as old as the calendar says LOL Crafting keeps me young! Creative Blessings! Kelly #36

Ha, ha. I wasn't here last week, but looked at it and titled my post the wrong number. Later, I had to go back and edit and change the number!
Love that birthday card and how you did a different sentiment just for her. Good idea. Well, I will head over to look a your photos. Happy WOYWW! #31

Ah, Helen, so nice to have a new journal to stroke for a while - just like my new fabric. Sorry to hear about your friend - hopefully that cute wee chick will cheer her up some. Not quite 50 - as my nearly 80-year old husband would say, you're still a youngster yet :) It's true too - 60 is the new middle-aged!!! Have a great week. Elizabeth x #30

That's a lovely card for someone in her position, Helen. Very appropriate and a nice sensitive message that will make her feel special. I hope her circumstances improve soon and she is happier. I'm not sure what a journal kit is but I am sure you will do something stunning with it! Thank you for your visit - yes, a busy time at the moment but I'll get it all done in time for the 100th birthday. I am sure she will have a lovely party on Saturday! There should be quite a crowd there I think - she's so active and attends a lot of groups. She is quite amazing for her age.

Happy WOYWW,

Such a great card and sentiment to use! And yes, time flies, especially when we get older, doesn't it? I myself feel like a year goes by at the speed that used to be a month (this is an odd sentence, sorry, I find it hard to find the exact words in English sometime, but you know what I mean) Anyway, have a great birthday! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. Have a great week, love from Holland, Marit #28
