WOYWW 440 - Christmas has started!

wow, Wednesday again!!  Time to hit some desks - Julia's waiting!
I didn't go to Kew last Saturday (it was forecast heavy rain - although in the end it was nowhere near as heavy as that...could have gone after all)  but instead pottered around.. went shopping

called into the Works.. as you do.  been keeping an eye out for those wooden tulips for months, some Works version of Enamel Accents - 3d pearl paint, and some Christmas curling ribbons which will either make it to embellish some gift wrapping or may go on some cards or even a mixed media project or other!

Sunday I finally started some Christmas cards...
using some Paperartsy stamps by Jo Firth Young and Elena's Zinski ranges

I also started a couple of sheets of tissue with some brayered Pebeo iridescent paints...

on the way home from work tonight I had an idea to use a Memory Box die of some fir trees...

so I have a sheet full of trees die cut... my first idea to add snow (in the form of a slightly glittery texture paste) is drying on the card base top right...

My next idea was to spray some of the trees with a white Lindy's Stampgang spray to add the snow...

we'll see how that turns out!

Thanks for the comments about stamping the skulls - I have and indeed had thought of using, the long cutting platform as the mount.  will give it a go

Watch this space!   Till then, happy desk hopping - see you at the Stamping-Ground

Somehow I missed that you bought a die cutting machine. I didn't think you owned one. How fortunate for you. Now I can see you getting every die ever made (OK, maybe not THAT many). Not playing in WOYWW because I'm doing AEDM, but had to stop by and tell you I think it's too early to start thinking about Christmas, but I know it really isn't.

Oh well done, I'm impressed you've started the Christmas cards! I've just realised that I have no idea where all my cards are, as we moved last January, they're probably still in a box somewhere .....I'll have to go searching!

Hi Helen, it always surprises me how similar our tastes are though for why I don't know as I should have realised this long ago but you are using the same Christmas stamps as me, love them and will keep an eye on your progress. Promise to show my samples too. Love how you're using them. Have a great and crafty WOYWW, Angela x14x

Hi Helen, surprising how often the met office gets it wrong. Just as well The Works is there ... it's just the place to get out of the rain. I like the look of the tulips too. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the trees. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #22

Those wooden tulips look amazing, Helen, and I love the background you've cut those lovely trees from. You've got a real eye for picking up unusual new stash. Thank you for your visit - my hubby took both kitties back to the vet this a.m. as Lily had pulled at her stitches too - Ruby was glued closed again but it's opened right up again and Lily's undone her stitches, so he's got to take them back again la8ter this p.m. I think they are both going to end up in cat suits to make them behave themselves! What a nightmare this is. We've never had such trouble with kittens before!

Love those tress so far. You'll have to share your snow experiments. I have managed to find a source for the skulls stamp at a reasonable price, but I'm waiting for them to come back in stock! Happy WOYWW Sarah #27

I love your Christmas cards! Such cute stamps! Now that I have all my Christmas stamps in one place I am tempted to toss them all and start over! I don't like most of them. But for someone who doesn't really like cardmaking, you're doing great! Sorry I'm so late this week! Thank you for your earlier visit, Lindart #34
