For Manchester...

The tragic events of Monday night's bomb attack in Manchester have affected everyone. There are no words...

This journal page is to show solidarity.... the background started with loads of leftover paint and Lindy's sprays smooshed about,  and I can't remember what else!  I don't have any pictures of it in progress

the wall is Tim's mini layering stencil, with crackle paste (Deco Art) which makes lovely aged brickwork.

The bees are the symbol of Manchester that were already seen around to represent Manchester's worker history, but are now everywhere apparently (not living anywhere near I cannot say I have seen them, but the radio has been talking of it)....

The bees are by JoFY and stamped on the original (discontinued)  Paperartsy tissue paper (hoarding it!) and coloured with Fresco paints in Yellow Submarine and Brown Shed (over the black stamping)

How stunning. I have not heard of Manchester and bees, but you live closer to the situation and we only get the "important" info here. Regardless, it's a beautiful page, and your bee stamp is out of this world. And it is so well colored, too, I could actually believe they wee buzzing around that wall.

A fabulous and poignant page in memory of the atrocities last week Helen, the wall and bees are the perfect imagery that relate to the city of Manchester. Great job xxx

What a moving tribute to a great city. Sometimes creating something and using imagery is the most powerful response, so much stronger than words. The worker bees on their textured wall are great Helen. xx

That's so moving, Helen. I'd also not come across the worker bees of Manchester - but how touching to hear that they are turning up all over the place to commemorate those who died, and to celebrate the spirit of the city.

A wonderful tribute to Manchester. Yes, the bees are a feature on the street furniture in Manchester but now they are being drawn too! Some folk are queuing for bee tattoos too! Chrisx
