WOYWW 356

Hi, deskers. Welcome to one of those rare desks (spaces on the floor) - no new stuff! I am saving myself for Ally Pally which is in a couple of weeks (must order my ticket!)  You're here for WOYWW the weekly get together organised by Julia Queen Desker herself

left open on the floor is the Wanderlust Book challenge with my last prompt (see here)
(oh, and that "self portrait" that I hid the practice piece from you so successfully a couple of weeks ago)

Nothing much else going on here, had loads I meant to do over the long bank holiday Easter weekend, that didn't get done. (did get some Powertex play in for the Paperartsy challenge which meant I at last got to play with the fabric hardener I bought at Glasgow last year.

I did go to Kew on Friday though - you can see the photos here
I'll let you get back to Julia's now, have a great Wednesday..  I may be late home so will catch up later.

Hi Helen Your fabric art looks amazing! I've seen demos of it being done at the NEC and we nearly secured a lady to come and do a class for us but we couldn't get enough people. Still maybe something for the future. Have a great week.

I've never heard of Powertex, but what an amazing result you achieved with it! Will you more with it, do you think? Or is it one of those things which is good to try but not really your thing? Beading was like that for me 😊
I like the fact that you're girding your loins for Ally Pally!!

Ooh I love florals on black backgrounds, they always look so striking and your page is no exception, it really is gorgeous. I love what you've done with the Powertex - I am so tempted to give it a try and when I see beautiful work like this it's even more tempting! Have a great week,

Really must get into some sort of system with checking out the PA blog, such interesting stuff. Love the idea of that powertex type stuff - have you ever seen the stuff that Shirley Tasker does? Not sure if its powertex but something similar. I bought a texturiser thing from AnnaMarie Designs at AP last September but found it incredibly messy to use. Still grumpy about missing AP,are you demoing again this time? Happy WOYWW can't remember the number.....

Ooh err..you have a past and it looks like the frontispiece to a scrapbook of a kind...wow! I saw your piece with the fabric hardener on Facebook the other day,but totally missed the face in it! How clever you are. Still admiring your hiding skills....

No matter how many times I visit, I'm still amazed that you can craft on the floor. First off my Bella would take that as a clear invitation to learn to craft herself and secondly my poor knees and back just would never tolerate it. I'm amazed!

Hi Helen, I thought it was time for a bit of a revamp, lol. The pic was taken a couple of years ago. We'd been down to visit Jan, and that pic is taken not far away at Avebury, a place called Kennet Long Barrow.Enjoy Ally Pally, I keep saying I'll go to it one of these years. Have a great week,Hugs, Shaz #7xx

Nice fabric art. Like someone else said, it reminds me of a mother coddling her baby. The flower background on your journal is nice - very colourful.

Wow to that fabric art piece. Very nifty! It looks like you've got lots going in on your space on the floor. Lots of room to spread out there. I'm always singing the praises of the floor. It's always been there for me. PJ #54

I'm just amazed you have any floor space left to play on! I have been rather poorly over the Winter with, flu, bronchitis and colds but seem to be on the mend now. I even have a job in a preschool one afternoon a week! As for the harp it progresses slowly, still battling with music reading but have learnt some new pieces to play. Thanks for visiting me BJ#49

Helen, I always love your busy happy space! Ally Pally must be a convention or workshop? You are so lucky to have so many of those around your area to go to--where I live in the Ozarks, we NEVER have craft shows or conferences or anything like that. I'd really have to travel to find one! But if we did, I would love it. Thanks for the visit. Sandy Leigh #61

I feel absolutely horrible that I have been unable to visit for nearly three weeks. It's been so crazy here I have actually caught myself coming and going.

I'm trying to catch up on some of your posts. I was VERY impressed with Powertex, and I saw Darcy has it on her blog, too. You are SO lucky to have so many wonderful tools and products at your disposal. What fun I would have just LOOKING at all your cool supplies. I'd never leave, I'm afraid.

I don't write on my pages either, so I was impressed with your Wanderlust prompt you shared. I thought you did a good job interpreting it, though.

Now I'm off to Kew with you. I'll meet you there!
