WOYWW 351 journals in progress

Hello and happy Wednesday again.   Time for another desk meet up with Julia..  at the Stamping Ground

So,following on the question I carefully didn't ask last week, (your comments did make me smile!)  there is no new stash this week - but that won't be the case next week as I am going to Stamperama at Stevenage on Sunday, meeting up with lots of crafty friends.  Quite by chance (ha right) the UK trade show has been on at the NEC in Birmingham this week and Paperartsy (among others) have been showing MORE new products... oh poor bank account... the wish list is very long again!

So instead, today I have taken a picture of my living-cum-craft-room from the window looking back to the space on the floor I work on..

doesn't look a very big space does it?!

It isn't.. very cramped working..

I know you've seen it before,  but
the wooden boxes contain some of my wood mounted stamps (and no, I will never a) get rid of any of them or b) take the wood mounts off...)   The other boxes contain all manner of things - paper pads, chipboard, inks, cling mount stamps.. but all fairly organised!

on the craft mat is a journal page in progress - or possibly just about finished.

I've been using the new Coral Fresco colour and also the Copper; both of which are gorgeous... and the new stamps designed by Kasia for the Everything Art Wanderlust course..

There's another page too I've been working on,
using a Stencil Girl stencil, black gesso and the Copper and White Fire metallic Frescos.    the crows are by Lost Coast Designs and "fell " into my basket when I was buying something or other the other week... they're stamped onto book paper covered in White Fire paint.
in hindsight, they didn't need to be stamped onto book paper as they have text in the white spaces on the bodies... but I like them, even if they are a pain to fussy cut round the feet!

Looking forward to catching your desks, and if any of you are going to Stevenage, let me know and we can look out for each other!!

Your Journals are looking great. I know I would never remember all that I own I'd just stamp out a bunch on a paper to make a book of them, I always find when you stamp an image our you'll know if you will use it or not looking at a stamp doesn't show the details well
Have fun at the craft show too

Gorgous moody grungey pages, Helen - love those sombre colours! Your creative space is always amazing, and even more amazing to me is that you choose to work on the floor - I'd be exhausted after a few minutes of that and would probably never get up!!! I got a lot of new stash recently but haven't had a chance to do a blog post about it yet, and certainly no time to use any of it...

Happy WOYWW,

Crows feet are a pain, I agree, in every sense of use! I love the view, and yes, like you I will never uncounted or get rid of my wood mounts either. I have a storage box full in the attic at present..long story! It'll be like coming to play at your house when I unpack them. I love that you have a journal page in progress/or finished......I'm always asking you arty types that - how do you know it's finished?!

I am off to Make It! this weekend (I hope - plans keep going awry) so I might actually have a haul. Not sure how much, and it is just as likely to be knitting as paper and stamps, but hey ho... Nice to see your busy space, and love the page. Always so worth a closer look...

Happy WOYWW!

I'm always amazed at what lovely work you are able to produce while kneeling on the floor. I know I couldn't do it! Have fun at the show. It's always a treat to meet up with crafting friends.

Having lots of trouble getting and staying online - but hope to have a few minutes this time... Great new view of your crafting space - happy to hear you're ready to cram even more PaperArtsy goodies in by hook or by crook! Love those pages - the Coral and the Copper look fab - as do the new stamps. And the drama of the Gothic window is simply wonderful.

How organised you are! I suppose you have to be if you craft in your living room.
Enjoy your shopping spree. Bank balance what the heck. As long as you don't get into debt, it's just great to buy new stash.
I love your journal pages, especially the 'dark' one with the crows.
Thanks for visiting mine,
Happy WOYWW,
and have a good week,
Lisca

Hello Helen. Great view of your space - and I totally agree - I love the wooden stamps I have, they just feel so good in the hand when using them. Have a great time at the show - hope you get to meet up with LOADS of friends - won't be us, I'm afraid, too far.... but enjoy!
Take care. God bless.

OOhhh new stash next week? Can't wait to see what you end up with lol. I love the Murder of Crows page. It reminds me of a window I saw in an old abbey ruins and a gravestone complete with bird sitting on top in a graveyard on the Isle of Wight.

Lovely pages! Have fun on your trip.

Love seeing your craft space but it does make my knees ache! The journal pages are fab - MUST have the White Fire! Am really looking forward to seeing you at Stevenage! Just don't comment on my full basket!!!

Hi Helen, ooh! all those drawers! I'm a sucker for drawers, lol. Show me a piece of furniture full of drawers, the smaller the better, and I'm in heaven, lol. Like the crows page very much, but you knew I would. D'you know, I haven't been down on my knees since my op- I can't even stoop down, or I can't get back up without help. Really awkward, if you want to get at something low down, I can tell you. Hoping it'll fix as time goes on. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #12 xx

I'm just in from my afternoon school run and having done the morning school run and a full day of sewing in between I'm feeling rather jaded but as you can imagine those little ones never fail to put a smile on my face so it's all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by at mine earlier.
What no new stash??? You not feeling yourself? :-) :-) I'm sure you will make up for it next week.

Hi Helen, I'm a new girl to this party, my first link-up. Love how you are into your journal art. Looks like you art-sprawl into nook and cranny around the house as I do, haha. Well, that's what a house is for, to use it to live in! xoxo, Aimeslee

As I sat watching Little Soldier crawl round the floor today, I thought of you ..... he was inspecting, choosing and then playing with his toys. I couldn't have lay on the floor with him if I tried ...

Happy WOYWW. Love those colours. I really want to look through your wooden boxes. I could so easily have continued buying crafty stash at the rate I used to, and then would be bankrupt by now! I do miss the excitement of having new designs/colours to work with, which is why I mainly craft digitally now - can never get bored. Ali x #42

Oh, now I want to pop over in real life for a cuppa and a proper little rummage in that room. There's so much to look at - and to love.

Have fun adding to the stash at the show!

I have been buying quite a few cling stamps, because it seems so many that I like, are being produced and only available as such. But...like you...I never will remove the wood from my mounted stamps, some of which were unmounted when I bought them, more than 20 years ago, those I mounted and indexed onto the wood mounts, I was able to buy at a convention. Now, I keep maybe 500 of them out on shelves in my studio, that I love to look at and use the most, and like you, have more than 50 drawers(single layer) full of them. I am just happy that I have the room to do this, and I understand that some do not. If more wood mounted were available, I'd never hesitate to buy those first. Oh and I Love those crows,I still fussy cut too. Gotta love it...

Hi Helen
I'm never going to unmount my wooden stamps either! I rather fancied those Everything Art stamps, but with the exchange rate they are way more expensive than I can justify. (I'm pretty sure I have some very nice lace stamps already, around here, somewhere.)
Yes, it was lovely to have lunch with Sandra on Wed. We manage maybe 3 or 4 times a year. We met "by accident" some years ago, at a full day Tattered Angels workshop, when she sat next to me. (She arrived at the last minute and was looking for a seat. I was sort of spread out, a bit, but volunteered that there was a space there. The rest, as they say, is history :)
No doubt you are enjoying Wanderlust? I am :)
