WOYWW 340..it's beginning to look a lot like...

.. except, not round here it's not.. Christmas that is.  Not at all prepared, apart from the cards that are still not written.  No presents bought, no decorations up (well there isn't room for much, certainly not a tree, but I will put out some bits .. soon!
Welcome to another Wednesday hop round the desks of the globe, thanks to Julia's Stamping Ground.

Not a huge amount to share yet, the new computer is still were it was last week, in the space where my craft mat should be, on the floor... was struck by a sudden but shortlived tummy bug on Thursday last week (hence the lack of visits to most of you) -although it was over quickly I was left drained by it.
This meant that it hasn't been possible for the friend from work who was going to come and help me set it up (I can't do techy stuff!) to come and do it yet... maybe sometime this week!

I did do a bit of crafty shopping - the accessory pack for Tim's Crazy Bird stamps.. wasn't going to but saw them on a reasonable Black Friday offer.. they arrived the day I was poorly, I found them on the doormat when I went back to work on Friday.

I will NOT be buying the dies to go with these, can you imagine lining up such fiddly little images? I'd rather curse with a pair of scissors..

I spent Sunday at a Paperartsy Christmas Party/Workshop in Brentwood, Essex and we all (about 37 of us) had an amazing time.. (I was just about eating again by then but would have enjoyed it even more if I could have had pudding!!)   the full post about it is here

If I'd been organised I'd have written some of the cards and taken them with me, but ......

these are the two projects we made during the day. Two fabulous canvasses, very different styles, but I love them!

They both need a bit of "faffing" to finish, but they're gorgeous.  I'll try and get some pics in daylight so you can see them better sometime!

I will try and visit more of you this week, and hope you are all keeping well!

You must have posted early. Sorry to read about your bug. Hope you gain your strength soon.

If I owned a die cutter that cut those, I wouldn't want the dies either. Wise choice. I'm playing but haven't linked yet. No number because everyone is still asleep except me. Have a great WOYWW.

Glad to hear your feeling better stomach bugs can be the worst. I have to agree trying to match up Stamps to dies would be a pain to line them up proper I have one for little sentiment tags and its so tough to line it up rarely ever get it perfect hugs Nikki to early for a number

Hope you're over the bug. I didn't post or visit last week. Just too busy. It doesn't look like Christmas here either (apart from the few cards that have arrived) and it won't until Christmas Eve, which is just how we like it.

I'm sorry you were so poorly :-(. Glad you're better now. How frustrating that you couldn't get your computer set up though...I wouldn't have a clue where to start either! That workshop looked great as does your lovely canvas :-)

No Christmas here either, so don't be hard on yourself. Hope your friend gets your computer up and running. Do love that first canvas. I would like to see some close ups if you could manage it.

Hope you are feeling much better following your bug. I'm glad you have a new puter. It's really easy these days to set up. You just turn it one and follow the instructions on screen. Wish I lived nearer I would've popped round and done it for you. Take care Zo xx 28

I'm with you on not buying the dies for the stamps! But then I don't have any of the bird stamps.....am holding off!!!! ;) There are some images that work for dies and some that just don't need them...as you say get out the scissors :) I find they are a bit fiddly to line up no matter what!
Hope you are feeling a bit better by now.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Glad you recovered in time to enjoy your workshop. Sounds fun. I always think workshops are best when you leave with a completed piece of work and hey, you've got two so that's a real success! Hope you're feeling less washed out this week, happy crafting, Max #34 :-)

Hi Helen, glad you are feeling better, it's rotten to get those bugs. I admit I bought the accessory dies when we went to the NEC, I'll let you know how I get on with them. I found the birds surprisingly easy to line up, so we'll see.I did have a little splurge at Countryview the other day, but thats the only day I've been tempted. And I'm having to be very restrained with Indigo Blu, as I keep getting emails about stuff being 50% off! I know I'll end up giving in, but for now, the force is strong, lol. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #10 xxx

Love the projects you made they look great. I actually like the dies that go with those stamps and they don't really feel that fiddly to use. Happy woyww, Angela x 24

Sounds as though the bug really knocked you for six... what a relief that you could go to the PA party at all, despite missing pudding!

There's still ages before Christmas - don't sweat it. And if the worst comes to the worst, you have until 12th Night, 6th January, to share your festive cards around!! Imagine how nice to have some happy mail to cheer up the 12 days after the big one!

The canvases do look fab - I especially love the long tall one - what great colours and textures. Hope you can share some detailed photos some time when you're feeling properly better.

the bug seems to be making its way through the populace here also. I had it last week and like you it was short lived but still draining... I have been crazy about trying to get stuff done for Christmas cause the Grandbabies are coming for the first time ever. I still have a lot to do but working on it daily. Love your projects. Hope to see them after the "faffing!" Have a great week. Thanks for visiting me this week. Vickie #48
