WOYWW 126?

Welcome to another Wednesday's snooping at desks thanks to the lovely Julia - check them here .

I've still got a bit of a block on creating but hope it's on the way soon - I really must get into Christmas card spirit very soon!!

When I got back from my brother's (where we had the "do" - obviously I don't have the space - ahem!!) on Friday after the funeral (it went ok, as well as you can say for these sad occasions, at least it was good to get together with lots of the family) I found some lovely things had arrived in the post - look!

the new Craft Stamper, a couple of sets of Wendy Vecchi stamps (on special offer here because the lovely Lin is retiring at Christmas so I had to, didn't I!) and a gorgeous Hels' tag that I won in a blog giveaway!
I haven't used any of the stamps yet but hope to very soon!

So, that's my desk.

I must also show you the Dragons-Dream tag for this week's Tag It On challenge - we are challenging you to go Steampunk today - here is my tag.  The film title that inspired Wanda's choice is Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. (not one I know...but I don't watch many films - I did google it though and found a trailer!)

I covered the tag with a piece from the Tim Holtz Crowded Attic paper stack and used a selection of stamps from Tim's set handily called "steampunk".   Added some washers from my stash (from the hardware store - B and Q to the Brits!) and some jump rings under the gentlemen.

Anyway, I hope you'll come along and have a look at my teamie's work and why don't you join in?  We'd love to see you...

Glad the funeral went as well as could be expected, was thinking about you... as you say, the positive was meeting up with family and celebrating your mum's life. A good thing to do :)
Love the steampunk tag! Is it wrong to say it reminds me of Monty Python somehow??! Think the washers are an inspired addition :D

Love the tag! Like Helen, I thought Monty Python first, though. They were definately steam punk ahead of their time. Glad that the funeral went as well as can be expected. Thanks for sharing your WOYWW! -Amanda

As with everyone else, I'm glad that the funeral had a blush of happy remembrance and family gathering to it.

Your creations are beautiful - and I'm with the whole Monty Python feel to the tag too... it's great!

I'm off to LB next week and think I must start cooking roast dinners every night to compensate for the shock my hubby will have when he sees the old CC bill. But you just can't go wrong with lovely Wendy stamps!!!

Tee hee! I might have bought a few stamps from Lin too! You have had lots of goodies to try and kick start your creativity! Fab tag too btw xxx

Lovely goodies you have there! We lost my almost-step-mum a few weeks ago very suddenly and the funeral went really badly (wrong music, wrong time, lots of gaps and mistakes etc) so I'm glad your mum's went off okay - it leaves you feeling peaceful if they have had a good send off doesn't it. Hope you find your Christmas mojo soon xx

The only good thing about a funeral is getting together with family afterwards and sharing memories and stories, it helps so much.
Love your new stamps, afraid I too gave in to temptation and bought a few things from LB - Darkroom Door Steampunk stamps by coincidence so I will have to have a look at the challenge site and see if I can join you - great tag as well.

Funerals are always sad occasions made bearable only by the pleasure of being reunited with family and friends - a few possibly not seen for some time. I think it's all part of the healing process.

Lovely haul of stamps and the tags are both gorgeous - love steampunk.

Hope your week goes well. Elizabeth x #59

Great looking tags in the post! I also like the new stamps you go while away. I said that funerals were about the only time my family got together and was a time to celebrate life not the death. Hope everything was okay for you! Hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #68
