Dragons Dream Team - Tag It On - Autumn Leaves

Hi gang, and welcome to another challenge from the Dragons Dream Team - Elizabeth is setting the theme this fortnight, and it is Autumn Leaves.

I started with a size 10 tag and some wrinkle free distress with Mowed Lawn mostly, and some green Bistre powders too.
I stamped the words which are from JoFY31 multiple times in black archival ink
the leaves are die cut from a sheet of card which I painted randomly with various orange red and yellow Fresco paints - Brown Shed, Tango, Autumn Fire, Smoked Paprika and a little Guacamole and Limelight.

I then stamped a scribbly circle (EEG07 in black, all over the card, and infilled with dots (ELB24) in Red Geranium archival before die cutting the Tattered Leaves and movers and shapers (Tim Holtz) as many times as I could from the sheet (A4 size) (forgot a photo of this stage!)
kind of randomly dropped the leaves on the tag and the glued them down, used 3d foam for some to get some depth.

close up.

Loved this theme, Elizabeth, especially as I made it a day after a(nother) trip to Kew to see the Autumn colour (check here!)

Hope you'll enjoy it too, and please join in - don't forget to use at least one real stamp and you do need a tag!

Tag it On - Dragons Dream

Good afternoon and welcome to another fortnightly challenge from the DragonsDream Team. This time, for our final numbers challenge, the supremely talented Julie Ann would like us to use 4 in/on our tag. Don't forget you also have to use one real stamp.

I was going to cut my tag into the shape of a 4 but in the end went off on a different tangent.
My base tag was a reject from an earlier numbers tag, so I can't quite remember what went on!!

there are various layers of number stamps and paint, and I stamped and embossed the teasel in the centre of the card.

I added some more of the teasels and the solid flower from the same set (ELB22)  and stamped some 4's and a circle round them
in my stash I found a wooden counter with a 4 on it which I glued into the centre of one of the circles and added some ribbon.

It needed a word or some writing, so added "believe" too.

Hope that some more of you will join in with this challenge, it doesn't seem to have been very popular, so next time there'll be something different!

Dragons Dream - Tag it On - Nine

Wow, that two weeks flew by!  Thanks for your entries to Catherine's '3' challenge for the Dragons .
This time, the very lovely Gabrielle has chosen 9 . Don't forget to use at least one real stamp on your tag, and to incorporate 9 somewhere!
Welcome, to Dressed Up to the Nines

I started by painting my tag (size 10) with bands of the new limited edition Fresco paints (from the bottom, Professor Plum Captain Peacock, Granny Smith and Teresa Green; and the gap at the top is Vanilla (not a limited edition one)

I lightly stamped my top image on the tag, and applied a layer of crackle glaze to the inside of the image.
when that was dry, Vanilla on top and let the crackle do it's thing, revealing hints of the colours underneath. Stamped the image over the top

added another layer of the paints on top of the bands, to intensify the colours, and stencilled a pattern on the background (used Prof Plum and Teresa Green).
The 9 came from a Paperartsy plate by JoFY.
so did the Dream at the top, and then added a ribbon.

Hope to see your take on 9, this fortnight.

Dragons Dream - Tag It On - Three

Thanks for sharing your tags at Tag It On on the theme of 2, last time.  This fortnight, the lovely Catherine has picked the number  3..

I have no step by step photos...

I took a size 10 tag that I had tried out a labrynth stencil on (tinted texture paste) and added two more stencils - the art is script, and the cornflowers... so, 3 stencils, 3 cornflowers, and 3 threes!

I stuck to a greeny-blue colourscheme.

The Teesha Moore girl was stamped on a scrap of paper and coloured with watercolour pencils
I chose the text (a Tim Holtz stamp) because she looks like she is exploring in amongst the forest of cornflowers...

Quite pleased how this one came out, wish the photos weren't all quite so wonky...

hope you'll check out the rest of the teams' tags and please join in - you have two weeks, starting now, lol!!

Dragons Dream - Tag it On

Time for another tag challenge from the Dragons - this fortnight, it's the turn of Silvia, and she wants us to use the number 2.

I decided to not only use the number 2, but to make 2 tags.. twins, you might say!

I took two size 8 tags and a couple of stencils - the mini Labrynth (crafters workshop) and the numbers (paperartsy) using just the number 2 from it.  Paints are Blueberry for the Labrynth, and Lavender for the numbers.
My main image is a Teesha Moore stamp, on another tag - painted Banana before stamping and cut out the images.  mounted them on the tags so they could stand side by side, and stamped the text on a spare bit of another tag (from a Paperartsy plate)

Painted some white satin ribbon with more Blueberry Fresco, as I didn't have a ribbon the right colour (how does that happen? about a million ribbons and never the right shade...)

Hope you will join in the challenge this time, it would be great to see more of you playing along.  Check out the rest of my team-mates here

Tag it On - Dragons Dream - Five

Hi, and welcome to another Dragons Dream challenge for Tag It On... this fortnight,it's my own turn to pick the number, and I've chosen 5.  I'm not sure why exactly, it's not a particularly obvious choice, the number has no meaning to me as such... but I had it at the back of my mind, that if I was going to use the specified number for the challenge, that many times on my tag, it had better be a low number...

Anyhow

we'll start with the  finished tag... I used 5's a few times... five colours, five birds, five groups of words (also ELB24)
if I'd planned the tag better (or at all, lol!) I'd have used 5 stamps too.. but couldn't get any more on after I had that idea..

I started by drawing the 5 on my tag with a pencil, then once I was happy with the shape and size I outlined it with my new Fude Ball pen (did I say how much I love this pen?!)

Masked round the outside of the 5 and filled the middle with the flower (dandelion?) from ELB24, in Buttercup archival..

from there I masked the inside and stamped the smallest of the Wendy Vecchi flowers in Aquamarine archival..

Decided the middle needed more colour/flowers.. so masked the outside again (telling it how it is, here!)

Took my Tea Rose archival and repeated the flower inside the 5
stamped the text from ELB24 in black archival, on a spare tag, and cut it up  - handily 5 lines of text!

mounted this with 3d foam pads... glued some die cut birds (5 obviously) onto each piece of tag..

For my 5th colour (you'd almost think this was an afterthought, wouldn't you........am saying nothing!)..
I added another layer of stamping in Forget me Not archival, and the small flower centre from  ELB22 - you can see this later in the next picture...
and a final look at the tag in slightly close up...

I added some string through the hole in the tag, not of course at all because I couldn't be bothered to get the box of ribbons down... no, not me!

So there you have it, 5, in all it's truthful afterthought tagginess...
I know that's not a real word, I just made it up.. a bit like the tag..

Hop over to DragonsDream to see what the others have done (they will have planned and organised I am sure..) if you'd like to join in, we'd love to see you - you do need to use at least one real stamp and make a tag... you have 2 weeks.

Dragons Dream -Tag It On

Welcome to another challenge from the Dragons Dream team - this time, my talented teamie Elizabeth has chosen Eight.  Just use eight, the number, or eight of something, on your tag, and don't forget to use at least one real stamp.

I decided to use 8 flowers on my tag (which is a size ten, sorry!)
I started by dropping a little Sage Fresco on the tag, and brushed it over the tag, leaving a few gaps and wiping some away with a baby wipe.

I added Butternut to fill the gaps and overlap a little.

Then took the criss-cross stamp from JoFY36 and stamped it in the leftover Butternut, and inked part of one of the large collage script backgrounds from HP1501  (hmmm no pic of this stage!) in olive Memento ink

my flowers are by Prima and are all orangey-pale green
I die cut one of the Tim thinlet dies from a piece of spare Paperartsy paper for the bottom corner, and laid out my flowers

the central text is from HP1507 and is stamped on a piece of spare tag from something else, coloured with the same paints as the background, as is the 8, from HXT06

a few more 8's in the olive green I used for the script background to fill some gaps on the tag

some green ribbon from my stash finishes it off.

Hope you'll check out the pieces of eight (lol) from my team mates and we'd love to see you join in - you have 2 weeks.

Dragons Dream - Tag it On - Numbers

Welcome to the Dragons Dream and a new series of challenges - this time, we're using Numbers.  Although we're starting with the number 1, don't get lulled into thinking they'll be in order... and there may be a twist along the way, who knows?!

So, here's my Number One tag...

I started by stamping the strip of numbers (paperartsy) in Forget-me-Not archival, over the tag, then painted a wash of Glass Blue Fresco paint, wiping some away with a babywipe.

Added several "one"s in Watering Can archival..
Stamped the "one penny" from another Paperartsy plate, on a spare tag, in black archival
and masked just the One and stamped it again.
used 3d foam pads to mount.
stamped the seed head (also Paperartsy) in Forget-me-not on tissue, and tore out, glued to the tag.

Finished with a couple of blue ribbons.

This came together really quickly, hope you will find time to check what the other Dragons have done, and join in - don't forget to use one real stamp on your tag.

Dragons Dream - Tag It On - Brown and Crackle

So, Wednesday again... and time for another challenge from the Dragons at Tag it On - this time, the super talented Julie Ann's choice which is - brown, and to use crackle.. Any choice of crackle you prefer - paste, paint, whatever.

I reached for my trusty Paperartsy crackle glaze, because I was in a bit of a hurry to get this started before I went away for last weekend (nothing like last minute round here!)

I used Chocolate Pudding on the base tag and Buff on top... quite subtle cracks.   I added the honeycomb stamp from JoFY 30 in Potting Soil archival ink.

I stamped the bee hive on white card, and took one of the chipboard shapes that matches the large bee from the same set, before stamping the bee on the shape. Coloured it with Inktense pencils
Stamped some of the little bees direct on the tag, and and the text; in black archival.

Do come and join the Dragons and see what my team-mates have dreamt up for you this fortnight - to join in, you need to use one real stamp on your tag. have fun!

DragonsDream - Tag It On - Green and a Quotation

Welcome back to another fortnight's challenge from the Dragons Dream - this time, the lovely Gabrielle has set the challenge, and it is green, and to use a quotation.

I started with a pale manilla tag, and sponged Cracked Pistachio distress ink all over the background, spritzed and flicked water and added some more ink.
Then I took the quote I was going to use, (Tim Holtz life quotes set) and stamped it several times in Cracked Pistachio, over the tag (as you can see, I got so carried away there are no step by step photos!)

stamped one of the Crazy Birds on tissue, and painted it with some Deco Art paints (apple green, burnt umber, pumpkin patch and canary)

Stencilled some chicken wire in library green archival

Added some little wooden butterflies painted with blue bird, a touch of violet interference paint and a swipe of white antiquing cream, before pouncing the remaining blue bird over the top
added a bit of green ribbon  and fixed my main quote with staples from my replacement tiny attacher.
Really had fun with my green, Gabrielle, great choice!   Hope you'll come and see what the others have made (you're in for a treat) and do join in - don't forget to use at least one stamp on your tag.

Dragons Dream TIO - Purple and Circles

Hello, and welcome to another challenge from the Dragons.. This fortnight, it's the choice of Catherine, who'd like you to use purple, and circles, on your tag.  This one was great fun!

I started with a size 10 tag, and a Prima stencil, and Dylusions paint (crushed grape).  Then took a JoDY flower - stamped it onto the tag, and then just the heads onto book text paper, cut that out and painted it with Purple Rain Fresco paint, stuck the head onto the stems.. saves trying to cut teeny thin stems from paper!
added a third JoFY round flower stamp and painted that - this one is on tissue, so it's painted Snowflake from behind to make the colour pop on front.

took a small tag and stamped a JoFY text, and added some more circles in the Dylusions paint (this is a Lin Brown stencil for Paperartsy)
Finished with some pinky-purple ribbon, edged the tags with the Dylusions paint (there was enough left on the cut and dry foam) and mounted the small tag with pop dots.

Hope you'll come and see what the others have dreamt up for you, and join in - don't forget to use one real stamp somewhere on your tag.

DragonsDream - TIO - yellow and texture

Already it's time for another challenge from my team-mates at the DragonsDream team - this fortnight, Silvia is really challenging us with yellow and texture.  Yellow - such a bright, spring-like fresh colour.. Not one I use a lot of in my work (and definitely haven't got the colouring to wear it!) but here goes...

the final tag.  Stamps by Paperartsy (words, and the bird) and Stampotique (on the background)
I started by opening my tub of Heavy Gesso (Prima's) and applied some with a spatula to the tag, I didn't want to spread it out too thin or completely cover the tag.

I dabbed the spatula into the gesso to raise the levels and produce the bumpy texture you see..  I left it to dry on it's own, overnight.

so, then for the yellow. I firstly took one of my recent purchases, the DecoArt paint - this is the Americana multi-surface satin paint, in Canary.  LUSH!  I dripped a little onto the tag, and spritzed with water, to get dripping going on..

Repeated until I got the look I wanted (still no idea where the tag was taking me at present!)

Decided to ink up a stamp I hadn't used, the script bird by Sara Naumann for Paperartsy. Stamped it in black archival ink, onto a piece of cotton fabric.

Dried it, then  cut it out, before I painted it with Cherry Red Fresco paint, slightly watered down (mainly to aid the spread of paint on the fabric) - on the back of the cotton.

When dry, turned it over and painted a little more on the front, and sealed the whole thing with Fresco Matt Glaze, mostly to seal the edges so they wouldn't fray.

Took the French script stamp by France Papillon for Stampotique (also new to me) and Saffron archival ink, stamped randomly over the tag, using a piece of paper to mask areas I didn't want to stamp on.

Punched a circle from a piece of card, stamped take flight on it (Sara Naumann, same set as the bird) and using pop dots mounted it on the tag, over a few strands of fusible fibres (without fusing them!!)

A bright yellow ribbon finishes this off.

So, Silvia, a tough colour to pick but I loved it and am pleased with how it's turned out - so a big thanks!

Hope you'll pop over to Dragons Dream to see the other gorgeous tags, and we'd love to see you joining in - don't forget to use at least one real (rubber) stamp on your tag.  Thanks for looking!

Tag It On 190 for the DragonsDream - Black and Stencils

Hello and we welcome you to another challenge from the Dragons. It's my turn again to choose the theme, and for some reason I chose the colour black (what was I thinking!!) and stencils - well that bit's ok! Don't forget you need to use at least one real stamp on your tag.

Anyhow, this is what I came up with.
I started with the Wendy Vecchi stripes stencil and black gesso.  I decided to make a check pattern though by turning the stencil

Actually, if I'm being honest, this wasn't my first step...
my first step was to take the Sweet Poppy stencil which I bought months ago and don't think I've used before, and used black gesso onto a tag... it came out really blotchy, this is effort number 3.. I used one of the rejects to see if I could cut the poppies out whilst not letting it fall to pieces, which worked, so I did that on my best one, and stuck it to the background tag...

now, we must use a stamp... rummage, rummage for a suitable stamp...

'artful blooms' on the bottom of another tag, (from one of Lin Brown's Paperartsy plates) and fixed it to the bottom of the tag.
not sure if it shows in the picture, but I edged the tag with Treasure Gold (White Fire)  and finished with a black ribbon.

Sorry, teamies, this was possibly a tougher challenge than I thought when I chose black as our colour, pop over to TIO to see what they dreamt up - and we'd love to see your efforts too!
Don't forget that stamp!

Dragons Dream - Tag It On - Blue - Words

Welcome to another fortnightly challenge from the Dragons Dream Team - this time, the lovely Elizabeth has challenged us to use blue, and words on our tags.

I "may" have a bit of a thing about word stamps and blue is one of my favourite colours, so this was right up my street.  I used some new things I bought on Saturday at Ally Pally.. what luck!

I started by stamping a script stamp in black archival ink on the tag, then used Southern Skies (JoFY limited edition) - slightly watered down, gave it two coats.
I sponged Blue Oyster randomly round the edges and softly across the tag, then stamped the honeycomb/circles from JoFY 32  in Forget Me Not archival.
added some blue watercolour pencil to some of the circles, and some white Sharpie pen to some of the honeycomb.

The sentiment comes from Sara Naumann ESN12 and I used a blue Faber Castell Big Pitt pen to outline the card.

A piece of new blue ribbon finishes the tag... well almost...
I decided to add some blue and pearl gems to some of the circle centres.

Hope you'll come and join in with the Dragons this time, we'd love to see what you make.  The only rules are a tag, and and least one real stamp, following the blue/words recipe - have fun!
