WOYWW 780 - happy anniversary to us!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - week 780 - is 15.  what an achievement.  I am sure when Julia started this all those years ago she never dreamt it would still be going all this time later.  A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then and we have seen each other through good and bad times. Thank you Julia, for everything.

Normally for celebrations you buy presents... even if for yourself... amazingly I haven't bought any new goodies for... oh at least 2 weeks!

so instead, here are the anniversary atcs most of which will come with me to the crop on Saturday for swapping.

I played with a journal page background (the yellow neon paint)  by adding some stenciling, and tissue wrap. the flower is a Dina stamp, stamped on some of her blank tissue.

then I ran out of oomph... so another part done page!

I could give Mary Anne a run for her money with part done pages but she's been finishing hers off!

Kew last Saturday was meant to be hot - it didn't start that way, but buddy Kim and I had fun again with the sculptures.

I'm really looking forward to seeing those of you going to the crop on Saturday - if I can decide what to bring with me I will hopefully get some crafting done!

For those of you not going, I hope you have a great week.

and these are all from Lyn (Spyder) who sent some of last year's too.

I have lost track of whether I have received all my swaps, so there may be more to come!

I think you'll agree that everyone made some fabulous atcs this year.
to finish, Kew -  Saturday was a fabulous day (with my new phone which I didn't drop !  )
just one Kew pic to tempt you to the blog this week as there are lots of atcs.

WOYWW 728 - happy anniversary to us!

Hello lovely people.  the time has come to celebrate our 14th anniversary of WOYWW, dreamt up by Julia to nose at people's crafty spaces...  14 years, 728 weeks later, here we still are!

I forgot to photograph all  the atc's I'd made for the swap until most of them were sealed in envelopes and winging their way to recipients...
Just a few left, waiting for swaps - one for my partner (unless that happens to be one I've already despatched) and 3 spares if anyone would like.

I found my badges and the WOYWW stand that Mr D made for us a long time ago...
I had some early mail too - Annie and Jo, Jan and Lynne.

Jan, your envelope had come unstuck at some stage so I hope nothing is missing.

I feel bad now for not sending anything with my atcs, just the plain atc...

If you read my post from Kew at the weekend  (or happened to see my FB comment)  you will know I had a bit of a disaster ...

suffice to say, I now have a new phone as the "dry it out in a bag of rice" trick didn't work... yes, reader, it fell out of my jeans pocket (where I never put it!)  into the loo...... and promptly died..

Kew was lovely though!!

what does What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday mean?

14 years of desk snooping, enabling, sharing, caring and friendships made - loved ones lost too, sadly,  ... Julia, you can never know how much it means to us all that you keep this going (and with much more manageable numbers, truth be told than in days gone by)  but we are real friends now, thanks to you - and to Jan -  for getting us together at the early crops (I still have the floor  sign you made for me) - all the chatting, all the cakes (oh boy, the cakes!) and the hugs ; even some crafting... Thank you, thank you thank you.

thank goodness for FB photos!  I couldn't find a photo in the blog report of the first crop.

Happy WOYWW one and all!

WOYWW 677

Hello lovely deskers hope you are all well after our 13th birthday last week? So we start another year of desk hopping...with Julia and the gang. Check it out at the Stamping-Ground   Also news of a crop  in October  - hurrah!!

As promised I'll share the atcs I made to swap -  I used 2 of the chickens from one of the Paperartsy sets by Elena Zinski

I must apologise for not completing the backs in true atc style- I sent some off without numbering them at all

My letter box hasn't been so busy in such a long time with all the envelopes of atcs landing on the mat in return -

and I love the pretty envelopes so many of you sent too (I may have muddled some of them up, sorry)
Ali , Catriona, Annie and Jo (and of course a poem too from Annie) my drunk chickens, Angela R, Caro and Jan

I am so sorry I ran out of atcs to swap back with Catriona -next time!!
Mary Anne, Christine, Julia
Lyn (Spyder) and Cindy

You are a clever bunch of crafters!  Thank you all.

Finally and briefly, Kew last Saturday - something a bit different to enjoy - check them out if you have time

I'll be there again this Saturday and then off to a wedding reception in the evening so there may not be quite as many photos of alliums next week

Thanks for looking and as ever, Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 676 - the birthday edition

well deskers, here we are - week 676, 13 years old! What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (a birthday deserves the full name I think)  Huge thanks as always to Julia for starting and keeping this going for so long and to all of you for your friendship over the years, be it real or virtual. You are a cracking bunch of ladies!

I got a batch of 12 atcs made for swapping, I have 11 to swap (I remembered I need one to keep for myself)  so that's my partner,  Julia, Jan, plus Annie and Jo who have already offered to swap -  so by my reckoning another 6 so if you'd like to swap leave me a message (hoping blogger allows them after last week losing some of mine)

I'll get them off tomorrow as long as I have your address as I don't have email on my phone so won't be able to sort them till I get home from work..

I'll share a peak of the backgrounds only not the whole thing to keep them a surprise for the recipients and then show the finished atcs next week

they were cut from a masterboard I made months ago and which has been gathering dust ever since!

they -loosely - fulfil the "connections" theme as the images are connected (can you tell I was lacking in ideas?!)

nothing else to share today so I'll leave you with the link for Kew from last Saturday which was fabulous as always

In case you missed these from FB -
a huge batch of baby geese - we counted 25 or 26 all with just 2 adults... what a brood to care for

Thanks for looking,
will be round to visit soon as I can
Happy WOYWW and here's to year 14.

WOYWW 626

Welcome back deskers -  time for another WOYWW  Queen of the Desks Julia has the details should you be new to the planet and not know what this is all about!

My atc from my swap partner Elizabeth (and Bleubeard) arrived last Wednesday, taking only one of the 3 weeks she feared it may take to arrive - with 2 postcards!

Thanks Elizabeth!

The weekend just gone was a Bank Holiday here in the UK and - surprise surprise - we had good weather! Saturday of course was Kew -check the Kew post here

I thought I'd missed the laburnum arch as I kept forgetting to go and check it out!

but I did also managed to have some crafty play time too

another spread in the Kraft journal - hopefully Neet, you can make it out better this time - yes, all the pages are Kraft cardstock, nice and thick, and take a lot of mixed media punishment
"desk" shot of the floor taken from the sofa on Monday - not much has changed since then

So that's me for this week.  I'll be round to see your desks either at lunchtime (if we're not too busy)  or after work!

Happy WOYWW
