 Hello deskers. still one handed but determined to keep joining in with Sarah and the gang for another week of WOYWW  

I have had another go at some left handed stamping. 

I cleared the Dina stencils that live on top of my Paperartsy stamp boxes as they make, so I found out, a suitable height for stamping standing up. 

I used distress oxide inks in wild honey , fossilised amber and bundled sage and the wild grasses stamps by Alison Bomber  on a card blank.  

haven't attempted a focal point yet.  probably a step too far.

 Hi all welcome to a new week of WOYWW  Sarah has the link as usual.  

It was so lovely to see so many deskers last week for the anniversary, I'm just sorry I had so little to join in with. 

The op took place ok and a plate has been inserted in the wrist and I have a check up on the 18th 

till then I am in the sling over this bandage 

pretty impressive bruise up my arm!  I had trouble taking a decent photo 

I did try some left handed stanping which was a bit wobbly to say the least.  

I'll get round to see you when I can .

WOYWW 900 - what a biggie

 This was going to be such an exciting post to celebrate 900 weeks of this amazing weekly get together, started by Julia, helped by Jan and now Sarah.  I've been joining in for many years and made great friends.  sorry for the generic links. 

my recent wrist fracture has stopped me linking a lot of what I wanted to as I am typing this with my left hand, one fingered and so everything is slow and difficult. As things go, I should have been recovering from the surgery to pin my wrist as one of the little bones was moving so they want to pin it. Sadly it was cancelled for Saturday and just ( - edited mid-day Tuesday) again for Tuesday. Hoping for Thursday 

I am writing this on Saturday as I won't have any other time and wanted to make sure there was something in place!  Sadly no one-handed crafting either. I haven't missed a week since I started so determined to be here today.

this is my post for week 100  which was the week of Prince William and Kate's wedding. the first week ending 00 that Sarah suggested we share that we joined in on.  

I had hoped to add all sorts of photos but a lot of my old ones got lost when the previous computer died many years ago.

this was crop 2022 which is all I can find. 

not sure when I'll be able to visit; it all depends on the hospital.  (Jan is linking me, thanks!)  may not be able to comment either, we'll see.

wrist is broken , in a cast but have  follow up at Epsom hospital today - really hope it won't need operating but i guess if they want to see me rather than over phone, it will .

this is last half done crafting for some time!   a bodged journal page 

before i crocked myself 

did make kew last saturday without camera obviously, very short blog in usual place .  love to all will visit if/when i can but no comments again.

 This nearly didn't happen but I never miss.WOYWW 

I fell on the way home from work yesterday and ended up at hospital, waiting all night to be checked. They don;t think my wrist is broken but waiting to be called by fracture clinic.  Now home and tying one-fingered left handed!

I won't be commenting!

 Happy WOYWW all. Time to meet again at Sarah's for our weekly desk share... 

I was watching YouTube at the weekend and saw a video from Alison Bomber (Paperartsy designer) which really spoke to me 

she made a whole series of "clusters" to use in projects.

I was inspired to have a go and made just one for a journal page 

I used some of her new stamp designs and scraps plus a Tim Holtz photomatcic image.

I was going to do more but the floor was hot and uncomfortable and I gave up!

Kew was another hot visit - though this weekend is likely to be more so - I am ready for autumn now but it seems a shame to wish time away!  

we enjoyed watching the swans at the lake

and some colour in the evolution garden 

I am hoping to see the eclipse this evening although I don't have eclipse glasses so will have to be careful - I remember the last one was a disaster as it was too cloudy to see anything.

 Hello again deskers.  I hope you are well.  It's another Wednesday so WOYWW time again. 

Had a play with the new Seth Apter stamps at the weekend. I brayered some paint on a sheet of cartridge paper and randomly stamped several of the stamps from both the new sets in toning inks (mixture of archival and versafine clair) 

I got carried away so not many in progress pics

I stamped some of the words on spare paper to mount 

the paper was slightly smaller than the journal page so I painted a border in Cocoa Dina Wakley paint although it doesn't show up very well 

close up to show a bit of the stamping. 

I knew I'd have fun with these sets. 

Saturday of course was Kew day and another hot one

it was a Henry day 

looking for shadows and holes!  

and a bit later we saw the heron in the shallows of the lake looking for fish

Put the kettle on, I'll be there in a jiffy.  Happy WOYWW

Here we are once more, Wednesday - time for WOYWW again. I hope you are all well.

I had a birthday voucher from work for the Stampers Grove.. so would have been rude not to buy some new Paperartsy stamps from Seth Apter this week. 

I wasn't going to get these ones as they are quite similar to others (well, there is a theme going on in Seth's designs) but ... free (gifted) so ... 

they'll be great in journal pages 

I also had a couple of cards to make -  my my nephew and his longstanding girlfriend got engaged at the weekend so I rattled off a card....

and an anniversary card for his parents - my brother and sister in law 

it didn't photograph very well but is on the way to them now so can't re-do it!  

Kew was, as the blog title said, another hot one...

it was a foxy day

and a swan-y day

but plenty of flowers too!

Hi fellow deskers, welcome back for another WOYWW. Head to Sarah's to share your desks and show what you've been doing. 

Not a lot, in my case - but I did finish last week's journal page

I added some subtle stenciling to the pages

you can see it a bit better on this half   some seed heads and some diamond type shapes in places

and added lots of Alison's flowers in matching colours.  

Saturday was of course Kew day - and cool enough to wear jeans and a hoodie!!  

the echinacea in the Carbon Garden were stunning 

and some low angle shooting of the Henry near the Pagoda

Most of the rest of the weekend was taken up with sport - the World Cup of course, (so pleased Spain won, if England couldn't!) golf, F1 and there was probably some cricket in there too!

 Here we are again, another Wednesday, another WOYWW!  I can't believe the month is flying by and we have finished Wimbledon and nearly at the final of the World Cup!

I haven't done much this week at all, with all the sport on TV and the heat.. there seems to be no end tot he latter! 

I did use one of the sheets of patterned paper from The Works,  but only got as far as cutting it in 2 and attempting some painty colour matching for the background. 

As you can see I haven't even trimmed the card to the page yet!!

it was too hot on Saturday at Kew to do a lot of walking around, mostly seeking out shade wherever possible, 

but I did do some posing in front of one of my favourite Henrys!

Getting ready to watch France v Spain in the first semi final, and then Wednesday (today when you read this) is the big one, England v Argentina.... COME ON ENGLAND....

 Happy Wednesday to all - another WOYWW has rolled around.  Head to Sarah's for the link and we'll all moan about the heat again!  I can't wait for autumn... 

I used the other set of Alison Bomber's stamps this time, the hydrangea set.

Kew on Saturday was colourful 

it was just before it got really hot again 

I was measuring the sunflowers....

and when walking through some knee-high grass decided I'd recreate a Flake advert from donkeys years ago (shame there were no poppies left)  

there's another one one the blog of me trying to get up... why is getting down always so much easier?! 

I've been watching lots of football from the World Cup and yes, stayed up till 2am to watch the England match on Monday morning. 

some of us met at Monica's for brunch at 10 - it was planned as either a celebration or a commiseration - luckily the former !

it did get very warm but the parasols helped.  

then it was off to work for the afternoon!  




I am planning on Kew on Saturday but it will doubtless be another short visit because it will still be nearly 30 again.

Welcome to Wednesday - WOYWW time again. I am so glad the awful heat of last week has gone (temporarily it seems)  even if it did mean a couple of days when we left work early to avoid the heat. Head to Sarah's for the link

Anyhow I hope you are all well.   

I treated myself to some new stamps last week - a kind of birthday present to myself - thank you for the FB wishes and the cards

It's  not a good photo sorry.  

the journal page I forgot to include last week is - I think - now finished 

 and here are some step by step shots of the progress of it. 

sprays (distress oxides) and some marks made with the end of the nozzles

background is Paperartsy Infusions powder spritzed with water (I need a new water spritzer, my Tim Holtz one has stopped working - again, it is the second one that has done that.  No idea why. It's not locked in it's travel position ) 

I managed a very short visit to Kew on Saturday before the humidity got too much. 

was delighted to see the gorgeous deep magenta dahlias I loved so much last year, are back in the same bed again

 I hope you are all surviving the heat in the UK -it is too much for me.  Time to meet Sarah and the girls for another WOYWW to see what we've been up to..

the boiler finally got replaced... glad it was last week and not this. they would have passed out in the loft. It was bad enough then!

I cut the flowers out 

and used some on a birthday card for my cousin who's birthday is the day before mine. 

Kew was another lovely visit on Saturday but no blue tits feeding on hands (the photo I shared was of Kim not me, MaryAnne, I couldn't do that one-handed!!)

 Happy WOYWW fellow deskers, hope you are all keeping well.  Another week has flown by and we are re-grouping with Sarah 

I spent some time on Sunday stamping out flowers (Alison Bomber for Paperartsy) coneflowers, poppies and cosmos sets

and even longer colouring them with the new pencils, I have to say I am pleased with them, they give good coverage and layer quite nicely

they aren't water soluble so you can't fully blend but for £20 I think they're a bargain. 

I have started the laborious task of cutting them out, too.... 

Kew on Saturday was bright and sunny 

and lots of colour 

the blue tits flit in and out very fast for their food!

the weekend ahead is looking to be somewhat too hot, (never happy!) but  I will enjoy nevertheless.
