The Dripping and Blobbing page...

Ok, so I've tweaked it and think it can be shared now.... the dripping and blobbing page I referred to in a previous post....

this is the finished page, which I don't mind so much now...

this was the stage it was when I didn't like it!  I thought I had taken some photos of it before it got this far, but I can't find the file I've saved them into....so maybe I didn't!!

The background is Squid Ink, the stencilling is with grunge paste, sanded back. The heart stamps are by Darcy_UK  and the dripping is the Bombay Inks in Magenta and Turquoise.  The white blobs are Snowflake Fresco paint, flicked from an old toothbrush.

I then added two Lonely Girl images I stamped on an old book page, painted with what looks like Eggplant.  The sentiments are the Snazzy blog win and are by Kaisercraft - and I really like how well they stamp for clear stamps!

DragonsDream- TIO - with a twist

Hello and welcome back for a new round of challenges from the Dragons... we're still sticking with recipes, but each one will have a twist this time, just to make it harder for you (and us, ha ha!) Thanks to everyone who entered last time!

This time, Elizabeth wants us to include a GAME of your choice on your tag, and the recipe, is Vintage, Buttons and Lace.... good luck..

I don't mind telling you, it took me ages to work out how to include a game on my own tag, Then I remembered some of Tim's Lost and Found paper stack languishing in my paper supply... and the game was discovered - Hide and Seek...Here's my tag.

 I used Distress Inks for my vintage element - Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, and Vintage Photo - spritzing some water on the tag before drying it off.

I blended some Vintage Photo and Black Soot round the edges of the tag, and my doors...

Sewed the buttons onto the doors, and the stamps which were from a Paperartsy Ink and the Dog plate (Gentlemen 4) stamped in Black Soot.

Cut two of the little vintage photos from the Lost and Found paper stack and stuck them to the tag, then fixed the doors over them, to hide behind.

I spritzed a piece of lace with some perfect pearls/copper reinker mix to finish the recipe.

it's time for WOYWW 224

Well, here we are. Wednesday 18th September. (probably, depending on whereabouts you are, reading this!) A dark morning/evening (again, depending...) or maybe it's bright and sunny.  At the time of writing this (Tuesday night, I confess!) it's already dark.  I do love Autumn as a season, apart from the early dark nights and late dark mornings... but you can't have it all!

Anyway it's time for WOYWW  once again. I had lots of comments about the amount of books I shared (and only one of you mentioned the dust on the chair at the table, for which I thank you, never let it be said I spend my life cleaning.... apart from my stamps!)

This week I have a decorated cherry box for you (you may remember the cherry box I bought some weeks ago which would be "useful" - well it has become useful!)

 It has been decorated into use as a stamp storage! (read about it here if you have time)

It was borne out of necessity as the box beneath, where the Paperartsy Minis used to live, was too packed! Now there is a bit of wriggle room in it that I will soon fill up....

on the floor is evidence of a blog comment win (the Kaisercraft stamps) thanks to Snazzy for those! and some Bombay Inks -acrylic inks in yummy colours - inspired to buy those from another blog I stumbled across. They are resting on my latest journal page

Also in sight are a couple of birthday cards for my boss at work and another work colleague both of whom celebrate this week.  The cards came from my stock box as I didn't have time to make new ones...


I am looking forward to a spending splurge (again!!) at Ally Pally on Saturday at the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show - are you going?  I will be spending (time and money!) at Paperartsy and the MDF man .
It is a great day out and another tweet-up is promised for a gang of us from Twitter, which just makes the day even more fun.  So, yes, watch this space next week, there will be (more) new stash on show.... Sorry, Mary-Anne!

I've made a folded tag this fortnight.

I've used the Dylusions Jumble alphabet stencil and Distress Ink (bundled sage) for the background, and my new Bombay Inks for the writing

The apple stamp is by A Stamp in the Hand, and again I've used Distress inks, blending them after stamping with a damp paintbrush.   The fountain pen stamp is by Just for Fun.

In the Pink - Journal page

Hi again, another post from me today... on a bit of a roll!

Following a chance glimpse of a blog post that I saw mentioned on twitter or Facebook last week, there was a bit of a Twitter conversation going, and I bought a few Bombay Inks by Dr Ph Martin at a very good price - and great service, they were sent very quickly... quicker than I had time to play with them..

I did a few bits of lettering with some of them on this and that (can't share yet, it's for DT pieces... keep watching!) and some blobbing/dripping (may add that journal page to the end here, only I'm not very happy with it, so we'll see...) until this afternoon....

I wanted to see how it would work mixing the ink with Grunge Paste... the ink is highly pigmented so I knew I wouldn't need a lot.... and hey presto....  I painted the pages with Snowflake Fresco before I started..

 I mixed the Magenta bombay ink, with the grunge paste and used the reverse chickenwire stencil, over the entire double page.  Once that was dry, I brushed some Sherbert Fresco paint over the journal page, wiping it off the grunge paste.

Then I switched to the Magenta Hue archival ink, and the Paperartsy stamp (MN48) keeping mainly to the texture free spaces.

 then added the fabulous flourish (MN96) and Wendy Vecchi's Watering Can archival ink, which is a gloriously dark grey; rolling the stamp to get incomplete images.

 Yesterday I received in the post, a couple of Tim's layering stencils and used Picked Raspberry distress ink and the ruler stencil, which matches with the 'Imagination' stamp.

It needed another focal image... but something smallish... Paperartsy Queen it was, from Ink and the Dog Wings 3.  Stamped her twice on white card, added just a touch of pink and yellow gel pens and bob's your uncle...








Now, do I share the dripping blobbing or not.... I think not...

Craft Barn Alpha Dictionary - G

The latest in the fortnightly challenges from the Craft Barn Dictionary Alpha challenge was launched today - and it's G.

I rummaged through the dictionary and then through my stamp drawers - found some long forgotten hardly used stamps by Stampendous....This is the result.

 I painted the background with a mixture of Sage, Hey Pesto and Guacamole Fresco paints, and stamped the 3 images on white card, colouring them with watercolour pencils before cutting them out and laying them on the page..


I've recently bought some Bombay Inks by PH Martin - acrylic India Ink - lush colours, this is the turquoise I've used, and one of my late Dad's calligraphy dipping pens... this nursery rhyme seemed appropriate to the word I chose!

I took some white paper flowers, stamped on them in archival ink and brushed some Squeezed Lemonade distress ink over the top, to finish the page off.

Cherry Box - Recycled - Storage

Hi, guys.  Remember a few weeks ago I bought a bumper box of cherries in a great, sturdy little crate I just knew would be useful?

well, the cherries were delicious and devoured ages ago... the empty crate has been sitting on a pile of stash waiting to have "something" done to it...

Then a couple of weeks ago, Darcy made a great storage piece for one of her Paperartsy guest designer posts.. and yesterday (delayed inspiration, I know!) I had an idea... it's nothing like Darcy's really, but the spark was there...

So out came the Fresco's - after I sanded the the sides of the box to try and remove some of the shine and intense Union Jack colourscheme!

 I started with two coats of Snowflake, and then one of Ice Blue...

 and stamps from the Eclectica ranges - some of Sara Naumann's and the flourish is one of Lin Brown's newest set, and the splatter is a Paperartsy Mini.

I used Archival inks by Wendy Vecchi - my new favourite colour EVER, Cornflower Blue, and the Watering Can and Red Geranium.

 all round the 4 sides of the box... and what did I put in my newly decorated box?   Well....

....Paperartsy Mini stamps (and a few of Tim's) and my Paperartsy dies...
and yes, they are in number order (for now) - apart from the original little minis that don't have the numbers on the mounts.

Not sure if I will leave it balanced on the stamp sets underneath, in case it damages the storage sheets,
but it does mean that I have freed up a little space in the Paperartsy box, so I can go shopping...!!!!

Thanks for the idea Darcy. It also means it's one less thing hanging around waiting to be used!
