WOYWW 835

Morning deskers.  happy June!    It's time for another WOYWW meet up at Sarah's

I don't have any crafting to share this week - of my own -   Sunday is normally the day I do any crafting but I was too tired

I do have more anniversary atcs though,  the one I forgot to photograph last week from Julia and my PIF partner, Cindy

thanks ladies.

Saturday turned out quite warm at Kew and the colours were fabulous
on the poppies,

and on Goldie, the golden pheasant who we saw for the first time in a while

although, truth be told he was looking a little less vibrant than normal - it's probably a seasonal thing!

the weekend coming is forecast wet so will be different again!

till next time, Happy WOYWW  and hopefully there'll be crafting to show!

WOYWW 779

Just a week to go to the WOYWW anniversary - and not much longer to the crop when several of us will get together to  craft   chat     eat..   (delete as appropriate)  I can't wait!

I finished the atcs... but decided to keep them "secret" at least for this week.

based on the expected numbers Sarah mentioned last week I have 1 for everyone going to the crop, plus keep one for me, and one for my PIF (assuming they're not going to the crop) and one for Morti who signed up for a swap..
so as not to just show you the backs of some atcs, here is a journal page I played about with at the weekend.

Had a lovely morning at Kew on Saturday, the first member's early opening Saturday (they actually start on 1 May but I was at work)

the new Marc Quinn exhibition is FANTASTIC and I took loads and loads of photos - link to blog here    I didn't know until I heard a feature about him on Radio 4 last week, that he is the sculptor who created the Alison Lapper statue for the 4th plinth at Trafalgar square some years ago.

and a couple of teasers.

it's going to be 6 months of reflections and fun!

I'll be round to visit you soon till then, happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 778

Morning deskers, it's Wednesday - time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday... Julia has all the details.  Week 778,,  nearly 15 years we've been meeting up.  so it's time to start thinking about atcs... belatedly, despite Mary Anne mentioning them for a couple of weeks!

but in the effort to keep some things secret  I have a card....
I painted a sheet of card with Mattints and stamped a leafy stamp (one of Dina's) over it

this formed the basis of the card above.
desk shot... not done one for a while... that tiny patch of stripy rug is the bit of floor I sit on to craft....

the 2 sheets of A4 card on the "desk" might be secret prep for atcs... everything else is piles of "stuff " that lives around me - things at hand...

Last Saturday was Kew, (obviously) - dry, but cold; this week ahead is meant to be warm and wet.... great!  But at least we get the chance to go in at 8am   Hurrah!

this is from a plant in the alpine house, it's been fascinating me for weeks!

I love tulips even when they are going over

Happy WOYWW, catch you soon!

WOYWW 723

Happy WOYWW peeps -  2 extra days at the weekend for Easter and zero crafting! well, twenty minutes maybe..

a pile of assembled atcs ready (I think)  for the swap  I may have time to make some more.

I had a couple of birthday cards I wanted to get made for some May birthdays but neither so far has turned out how I envisaged.

I took 2 trips to Kew, on Friday and Saturday - Friday was beautiful weather-wise and Saturday almost as good.  It stayed good enough to get my lawn mowed on Sunday before the rain came back...

Photos  here   and here    and some sneak peaks

thank you for dropping by,  I'll catch up with you soon

WOYWW 675

Welcome one and all to another weekly desk share -  join in at the Stamping-Ground for WOYWW a week to go before our 13th anniversary!  I've been having a bit of a play at some atcs to swap and hope to have a few ready in time!

semi-aerial view of the workspace

I had a birthday card to make for my cousin (who won't see this post so am ok to share)

I used one of Tracy Scott's new stencils (Dina Wakley paint) and cut it out,  and one of her new flowers (Prismacolours)

the early start for Kew was good - despite waking at 4.30 instead of 5.30 and not being able to get back to sleep!

it's getting to allium time at Kew, and I do love my alliums!

As usual I will try and visit as many of you as I can either before work or at lunchtime and the rest later on!

Happy WOYWW

I seem to have caught the "comments won't show" bug as I have left a comment twice now on Julia's blog and it's disappeared ... so if  you don't see a comment from me I have left one!

WOYWW 625

What a lovely week that was last week - celebrating the anniversary of WOYWW.    Can anyone believe it's the last Wednesday in May?!!

I've received some beautiful atcs from my swap partners, and it would have been much more sensible if I'd checked the photos I took of them in daylight before dark!!

we'll start with shopping!  true to form, the goodies i'd ordered (Kraft journal, stencil and the shimmery orange paint) were waiting for me at work last Wednesday.

After Kew on Saturday I went into Cass Art in Kingston on my way home to stock up on some different media and watercolour paper, and some paint pens.

so.  Take 2  for the atcs
top left - Debbie, top right Mary Anne
bottom left  Caro,  bottom right Angela

top left Cindy,  top right Zsuzsa
bottom left Annie (Wipso)  bottom right Jo (Twiglet)
left, mine,  top right Jan (LLJ)
bottom right Diana

there were several extras too, as well as postcards

thanks everyone!

my official swap partner, Elizabeth, atc is on the way from the US.
I'll share that when it arrives.

So that's my desk today

Just the Kew link to go - photo overload as usual here
and to keep this short I'll just add one to tempt you over!

my favourite alliums!!

I'll be back there again this Saturday (and for the next 9 I already have time slots booked for so far)   so you won't be allowed to miss much!

WOYWW 624 - When we were 12

Hello, happy deskers,  it's week 624 of WOYWW  - we are 12.  A big thanks to Julia for starting (and keeping it  going), this wonderful desk hop - it's never too late to join the fun - here

My atcs are ready to post - just waiting for my PIF partner to send them off and i've already had a couple  in the mail - thanks Caro and Jan - but i'll wait till next week to share them, along with the ones I'm sending out.

I failed completely to find postcards of Sutton, and unlike Jan wasn't clever enough to get my own picture of Sutton printed.  So, it's atcs only.

So, you're here to see a desk floor  (after 12 years, still on the floor)

I took this sideways on sitting at the computer

you can see my pile of envelopes (under the stamps)  ready to go

and a journal page I finished off on Tuesday

(today, at time of writing - I was off work today as I was having a smart meter fitted )

it's inthe 6x6 white Dina Wakley journal

I have an order on the way to me (almost enabling, for WOYWW)  with some more goodies.
It may even be waiting for me at the office tomorrow

Last weekend's Kew post is here

it wasn't quite as wet last week!  Back to an 8am entry slot this Saturday, and the glasshouses are open again with the latest easing in restrictions which I am really looking forward to, and there is a new exhibition in one of the galleries too called Naturally Brilliant Colour which should be fabulous.

Thanks to all of you WOYWWers who have made the last 12 years such fun, whether you are new or old  long established members of the group  - you all make Wednesdays a fun day!

WOYWW 623

Morning deskers!  We're gathering once more for WOYWW  - desk sharing day.  Julia has all the info.

Next week is our 12th anniversary and we're planning an atc swap.  I have got some made (yay, not last minute) and as well as one for my swap partner and one for Julia I have 10 I can swap if anyone is interested. let me know in the comments.  (thanks to Mary Anne for remindingme I should keep one... I have 9 to swap!!)

So onto my desk for this week...

an aerial shot this week... on the mat on my floor space is my 6x6 white Dina journal and some tags I made after watching a facebook live session with Dina on Saturday.

my atcs might be hiding in plain sight too... but no proper peeks today!

I've also made a birthday card this week for my cousin which is on it's way to her, and she is unlikely to see this

using stamps by JoFY for Paperartsy to give them their first inkings.

and some enabling!  (of course!)

it was quite a big box  - but mostly packing

I did manage to peel off part of the Ranger printed tape that was sealing the box
the latest Dina releases (I resisted on the Kraft journal but am regretting it having seen so many gorgeous pages people are doing in it so might have to go back to get one!)

I am sure I can use the piece of Ranger tape for something in my journal!
and a close up of the tags from Saturday/Sunday - gloss sprays... just playing and not finished, but was having fun

(messy fun!)

As for Saturday at Kew... it was wet!!

but you know how I love raindrops!

more here

the wavy sculpture last week, is designed as a seat, and somewhere to get a different viewpoint on the surroundings.  there is info here on the Kew website  about the Plantscapes

thanks for looking - will be popping along to catch your desk soon

WOYWW 522 - after the crop was over!

Well, didn't we all have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor   Radbrook.. (showing my age there). As I said in the previous post with the write up thanks to Jo and Annie, Julia and Jan for everything... and all you lovely deskers who came along.  Link your desk here with Julia.... it's time for WOYWW again, already!!

I thought I'd better do the review post when i got home so that this one, with the atcs and swaps, isn't any longer than it will be already!  Else I'll be expelled by Head Girl, Queen of Snoops, Julia.
there are so many gorgeous atcs and book marks etc but I thought I'd better get as many in each picture as possible.

the two on the left of both rows are from Wipso, then across the top, Anne, Camilla, Jan,
Julia,
bottom row, Chris (pearshaped); Christine, Heather (2) and Maggie

However, Debbie's gorgeous powertex'd atc has to have a close up!

Jo, Julia (booklet and chocs)  Margaret (more chocolate and atc) Shaz, Caro (atc, badge and bookmark) Elizabeth (paper and fabric) Neet

bottom row, Mrs D (Chris) Debbie, Sarah and Catriona (Scottish oatcake)

really hope I haven't forgotten anyone (Annie, group photo has been edited, so sorry!!)

one of my raffle prize pics is this fabulous huge mug just perfect for my tea... Given the wrapping it came in I am guessing it was donated by Julia...
another lady who loves her tea!.
just before I left for crop, this atc and these pretty extras arrived from Kyla

thank you so much for all the lovely swaps, you talented lot

I really MUST find a good way to display them all... I know Shaz recommends a binder from Amazon.  will give it a think..
got a fair few years' worth to store!
some crafting did get done at crop (I forgot to include them in the write up!)
this page is part done (needs a title of some kind)
and so is this one - this is just the background (will need knocking back with some gesso so I can add a focal point of some kind)

this was the page I made for everyone to sign - carefully checking with Jo on her list so I didn't miss anyone!  If anyone wants a copy of it for a memento, feel free to copy it off the blog.  Just realised I haven't added the date, will do that right now!

couple of close ups (as this post is now very long indeed!)
oh, and if you were wondering... yes I did go to Kew on Monday!  got to get my weekly fix in somehow!  Pics here...https://photosbyh.blogspot.com/2019/06/when-you-miss-saturday-at-kew.html
although I know several of you have been to have a look.

WOYWW 521

Well that was a fun anniversary last week and here we are, starting the next decade of desk hopping for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday... and the countdown to the crop this weekend .. cannot wait!

I've already received some atcs, including from my PIF partner, the lovely Dolores (Cardarian)

together with a gorgeous card too!

I arranged some swaps with some deskers who can't make the crop, which have also arrived - firstly from Angela (Felix theCrafty Cat)

and Zsuzsa who also enclosed some beautiful flower printables.

the big reveal - my rest of my atcs I'll be taking to crop for everyone

there's also a little message on the back

I went down a time theme - it being Whizzday of course - and friendship, because that is what we all are.  and just varied the colours a bit and the clock stamps which both came from new Paperartsy sets I was dying to try out!

Over the weekend I started gathering things that I thought I would take to crop, there is already a big pile!   You just know I'll take far more than I will use and want the very thing I don't pack!

Not sure if I will take the Oxide sprays (in case of leakage) although they should be fine,  but...
it will be ok if I put the in the case so they stand upright when the case is upright!
I do seem to use them more than anything lately, so it is probably best I do..

the most important bit - the train tickets - are on top of the pile!
Looking forward to visiting your desks and then some of you on Saturday!  For those of you wanting your Kew fix, last week's instalment is here   - Crop day will be the first Saturday I have not been to Kew since July last year!!
