WOYWW 164

Hallo, happy Wednesday to you.... and time for another mega tour of the world's creative spaces. Julia has the link and all the info here
My floor space today has the finished journal page from last week that I still haven't blogged about - so that means you get to see it first! Also, my at long last altered torso (which was blogged about here ) that used to lie on top of some of my paint tubes often seen in rear of shot!!

Underneath the torso is a part done journal page (another one!) using the Dylusion mushroom - or probably toadstool - stamp.

The ribbons are from Monday when I watched the Olympic Torch run through Sutton, this is from one of the sponsors (Lloyds bank)

and this is my photo of the torch bearer - yes I know he's past me, the one I thought I'd taken as he came towards us didn't actually take! (and there were loads of people in my way too)

The crowds were huge, the atmosphere fantastic and the sun blazing hot! It was well worth taking a day's holiday to stand and watch, and now I can't wait for the Games to start! As lots of you know, I am really keen on sports, so my TV is going to be on for hours and hours (once I get home from work)

I didn't get to visit many of your desks last week, sorry about that, I will try harder this time!

  19. Loads going on your desk this week and good to see that the page is finished. Unfortunately, I missed our torch bearer too - I was too late but I have an idea I'd have had difficulty getting a good photo too ... not only am I short, our torchbearer was a brave little boy who is even shorter than me :) Your photos would still make a great scrap layout :) Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #24

  22. I got a picture of the Lloyds bank lorry too! and did you know, even though Wight link didn't charge them (all 300 of them...no one else allowed)) for their crossingacrooss to the Ilse of Wight, that because Pepi hadn't sponsored them, the ferry had to be emptied of ALL the pepi-cola drinks for the 35 minute crossing! Coca-Cola sponsored them you see...anyway it's no longer raining -it's lovely and sunny here!! so am off out any second, trying to wizzz round as many as I can, have a great week. HaPPY SunnY WOYWw!!

  40. Your journal is coming along nicely Helen and how lucky that Lloyds were giving out those beautiful ribbons, I’m sure you’ll find a great project for them.

Well done for getting to see the torch. A once in a lifetime event probably and I bet the atmosphere was amazing.
I’ll be in front of the TV with you next week as I love the Olympics, especially the swimming and diving.

Thanks for visiting me today and ………..

  45. I love your toady, mushroomy stamp. The whole journal page is gorgeous.
The day looks glorious in your photo and great to see so many people out there to cheer them on. My father in-law carried the torch here for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, it was a very proud moment for us. I will be glued to the TV too.
    Have a great week.

  46. Lovely busy desk, Helen, and the torso is looking great. Love all the green ribbons. We didn't manage to actually see the Olympic flame relay but went to a party afterwards to celebrate 3 people from the same village who were involved - two of them were husband and wife, and were nominated separately! I did a blog post about it.

Can't wait to see what they do for the Opening Ceremony! China is a tough act to follow. I shall be glued to the TV for the foreseeable future lol!

Thanks for your lovely comment - glad you enjoyed my annotated photo. Sometimes I feel like kicking all that junk out from under my desk so I could stretch my legs out! Handbag, camera, waste bin, box of papers (I think - haven't looked in there for ages so can't remember what's in it!) etc. etc. My desk was a real mess for the photo. It's a real mess now, only it's a different mess!

    Happy WOYWW,

  47. Your desk looks busy Helen, but then that shows that you're having lots of creative fun! What could be better.

How inconsiderate...people getting in your way when you're taking photos for us! How rude!!!
The weather looks great and I hope it continues.
We've actually got 8 additional Olympic TV channels appeared from nowhere, so I don't think we'll miss any of the Games....bring it on :D
