WOYWW 145 - 14th March

Hi all and thanks for your visits last week.  Hope this finds you well and crafty. It's Tuesday night as I write, as always and I am watching Liverpool play Everton (local rivals for the non-footie fans among you) so my attention is wavering from this...

Here's what's happening chez H this week...

my altered book drying earlier this week...not had time to do any more to it, so not linked it with Elizabeth yet!
a little bit of stash - well, the Stamp Attic was 14 and there was free P&P for the day so I had to... and I was running out of tags, and cut'n'dry....so the only indulgence was the "chitchat" stickers... that's my excuse!
and some plaid backgrounds for the Grungy Monday this week (see yesterday's post for the finished piece!) now I have spares too...

So in case you wonder why I am showing this weird collection of photos, check out Jula's Stamping Ground for a million and one other strange places people create... see you soon!
(depending on whether my body clock wakes me soon after Julia posts in the middle of the night, or if I don't wake till 5, I'll be near the top or halfway down the list!!)

  1. Link or no link, I found you anyway (grin). I am super impressed with your niche so far. You have much better looking clips than I have. I look forward to seeing how this looks when finished.

That cut and dry is fantastic. They put it on clearance at my scrapbook store about two years ago. I snagged the only package they had and have NEVER seen it since then. I hoard mine.

I'm liking your plaid too. I'm going to have to try that with my non-dabbers!! Have a great WoYWW from your friend who also doesn't have a number (grin).

  2. My husband is hovering because he wants the laptop and said " what's that? Looks like a shambles!!", I'll go and slap him for you shall I??? New purchases look valid to me, stuff you use a lot so no guilt there! Great backgrounds too.

    Hugs
Brenda - whatever number I end up!

  5. Hey, who needs Mr. Linky. We can still find our way around from post to post. lol

Love your desk area with book. I need some clamps like that. Actually I did have some but they seemed to have walked out of my studio with lots of things! Like your plaid tags too!

  9. Hi there; just thought I'd pop my head in to say hi! Lots going on here. Your book is taking shape. I'm resisting taking part to be honest as I don't have time to begin yet another project! Enjoy the rest of the week...

  11. Well I managed to link myself twice so does that mean I will get more hits? That plaid is a great technique and you have certainly got it off pat, love it. I want those chit chat words too, so much..... Regards, Anne #27 & 48!

  13. Think Julia must have linked me wrongly (I was first with a comment in the wee small hours - drat, only time and Mr Linky isn't there) I am now #19 by my own hand.
What a busy post this one is, the chit chat stickers look interesting. Guess you were in a good mood from the football. :)
    Hugs, Neet xx :(

  15. Love the plaid Helen, haven't tried that for a long time and not with alcohol inks but with those little bottles of dye ink and the sponge (can't remember what they are called).
Your AB is coming along great and you are not 'lagging behind', you are further on than me as I haven't done the niche - that's today's treat.

  24. That's some fine stash replacement you have there! I have finally broken down and put tags in an online shopping cart lol. Love the plaid (to quote Steve Martin in the Jerk, "Plaid is my favorite colour"). Hope your team won the day :D. #86

  25. You are allowed to buy replacement necessities anyway, just not too many things that you think you need. I think you are safe. Watch out for the Borrowers with that Cut and Dry. I bought some three years ago, and I had to buy some more last year, because I just could not find the original purchase. It is still missing. Thanks for your visit. You know we are probably going to come down with some dreadful disease from having enjoyed the smell of our relations wood working. It is bound to be bad for us, but doesn't it bring back lovely memories. Have a good week. xx Maggie #17

  27. Ooh, stash replenishment is a must! No explanation necessary. :) Don't you love those clamps? I use them for so much. :) Happy WOYWW!

  28. Hi Helen, I'm real impressed at how far you've got with your AB - I haven't even started but plan to get started later today - and I'm suffering a wee bit of clamp envy having seen yours. Nice goodies/stash replenishments and the check paper is fab. Thanks for your comment earlier today - I'm sure I will love working in the new space :) Hope you're having a lovely day. Elizabeth x

  29. It's always interesting for me to see the stash other people come home with. I live in a really small town and the only store for anything crafty is WalMart, so I have to order online and miss all that browsing and impulse purchasing...dang! Happy WOYWW! Robin Panzer Art Studio 33 #130

  30. I was surprised as you with the result Helen, a nice one though.

And how special for Stevie to get a hattrick against that opposition and playing to the Kop.

  46. Oy oy oy, just read Brenda's comment - I think we make her teeth itch!!
Im niche-less, my book not thick enough, but I am doing the class properly otherwise! Loving the paid - presumably on gloss stock? How did you settle on colours..it makes me pathetically colour blind when I have to choose!

  50. I'm so late visiting this week...nearly out of time in fact, eek!
I've got so much to learn with all this crafting and there's so much new terminology that I'm not familiar with, but hopefully I'll get there.
Great to hear you're a Liverpool supporter. My hubby and son get up at silly-o-clock here in Melbourne to watch all the matches. Hubby was born in the shadow of Anfield!:D

  51. Sometimes I think I already commented and then find I didn't !
Anyway I very late comment but glad I came round to see your "desk" with new stuff and the plaid technique! There is always something new on your desk! I am not sure if I will be at ally pally but I will say if I will be a week before on WOYWW! I hope we will meet again!
    Lots of hugs
