WOYWW - haven't we been here before?

This isn't actually a photo of my workspace on Wednesday, but Monday morning - had to clear all the crafty stash out of the way for the phone socket AGAIN.... hence, the title of the blog post....

All cleared out of the way...
And some time later, all put back again!  I decided to leave all my distresss inks & stains and paperartsy paints on the tray to say time next time - cos you can bet there will be a next time!! So it's tidy now (ish!)

As it turns out Monday was not a good day - got a call on my way to work from my brother & his wife to say that Mum had deteriorated over night and the Dr's had called overnight and wanted us to go in and talk to them.  Complications (not from the surgery as far as I can gather) meant that she wouldn't have long left - at best days -we spent some time with her before leaving with a view to going back later - and in fact as I was getting off the train back in Epsom after waiting for the phone to be fixed, she died, but my brother was there though, with an aunt and a cousin.

Thank you all for your support over the last couple of weeks - it means a lot - and hard as it is, I know this is the best outcome for Mum.  She would have been 88 this coming Sunday and apart from the last couple of weeks, never ill, so we are blessed.

Oh, and as it is Wednesday (nearly forgot why I'm doing this!) not only is it WOYWW but Dragonsdream Tag it On (I got this made at the weekend, thank goodness)  The theme was Frankie's before she fell on her holiday and ended up in plaster so can't craft - based on the Beatles Ticket to Ride - tickets being the theme.

Used stamps by Tim and Wendy and distress inks and stains in blues (various - can't remember which!) and aged mahogany.  Now I come to think of it, there is a bit of a spooky thing here - the ticket at the bottom, with the date circled - for today's date of the challenge - the first one I did, I circled 10th October instead of 12th... (was looking at the date of the scheduled post on TIO - being American and "back to front" ) - 10th being the day we lost Mum.... oooohh!
Anyhow, we hope you can come and play!

Oh Helen, I am so so sorry to hear about your mum. It's hard to lose someone, and especially a mum but just think that she is out of harm's way now and there will be no sickness or suffering for her.
Sorry to hear about your socket as well - not a good week for you at all. Keep your chin up.

Helen, I am so sorry about your mom. Losing one's mother is one of the hardest things in life. I wish I could be there and just give you a hug. I lost my mom four years ago and I still miss her.

Dear Helen, my thoughts go out to you and your family, thank you for sharing with us. It is sad at any age for any reason but I think 88 and never ill is a fine life and age. Wishing you all strength and peace of mind for each day.

Sorry to hear your sad news, but lovely you had her so long, and so vital and lively except for this last. And that you can look past your sorrow to know it was better for her, this quick departure.

We are having some repair/redecorating done too and dread to, but at least not in my room. Love the tag, too.

Hang in there

Such sad news Helen - my thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family now. Please also take comfort from the fact that your Mum's passing was quick and you didn't have to see her gradually fade away over several weeks and months - especially as she sounds like such a vital woman. Love & light to you all....

Oh Helen; I'm so sorry for your loss. I know times are hard when these things happen but I do hope you find comfort in faith family and friends at this time.
I know what you mean about being grateful for the fact your mom was not ill other than this last period; it was the same with my father, never remember him ill other than the last days of his illness.
God Bless you and yours
Neil

Oh Helen I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum, but although it's so terribly sad and you'll be going through different emotions, eventually you'll be able to remember all the wonderful times you had together, so there will be tears and laughter over the next few days and weeks, but what a wonderful long life, free of illness, she's had.

Love your tag, love all the tickets, wonderful.

I'm sending you a very big hug and my thoughts and prayers are with you xx

So sorry to hear of your loss Helen. Your Mum will always be with you in memories of all those years together. Eventually you will take comfort in the fact that she lived to such a ripe old age and that she didn't suffer too much I know I did when my Dad who was 87 died in his sleep after only a week of being unwell.

I am so sorry to hear that your dear Mum died and I am sure she passed away knowing the love of her family. It's a hard time for you and will be but the hackneyed phrase, "time heals" is true and the pain will soften. Keep a nice photo of your Mum nearby, it helps.

Aww Helen, I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. It can’t be easy knowing that you weren’t there with her at the end but don’t you go blaming yourself for that. In fact, if she’s anything like my nan was when she passed away a few years back, I swear she waited for us to leave before going because we had sat with her all day and just nipped out to get a bite to eat.

Take care hun.

Oh Helen what terribly sad news, and only a couple of weeks after you were comforting me. It's so hard to come to terms with this life at times, but it's a blessing that until very recently she wasn't ill at all. Still, mums are irreplaceable, but I hope we can all help and hold your hand when you need us.

Sending hugs,

Oh Poor you! My Mum passed suddenly a couple of years ago, and I still remember how I felt hearing the news.
You are incredibly strong, and can cope with it, you had her for a long time, and she will never be gone.
Her light will burn forever brightly in your heart.
