Can someone please explain how the weeks go so fast? We find ourselves hurtling into Wednesday again for WOYWW hosted by Sarah.
I had a bit of panic at the weekend at how little of my Christmas card prep I've done - but then I never usually do them this early... anyhow I decided I'd do batch making big style this year and cracked out some masterboards.
I used a couple of my favourite stamps that I use loads at Christmas - wooden mounted Magenta stamps from loads of years ago, and I love them.I filled 2 A4 sheets in shades of blue 3 in shades of purple and then with the other stamp, one in greens/grey (my million year old silver Encore ink pad has gone sticky and odd) and one in reds.
the inks are Versafine Clairs. So when those little lot (with the 3 or 4 sheets I did a few weeks ago) should make quite a few cards.
Kew last week was... interesting. Forecast was heavy rain, and it did, for a while. I also managed to trip up a step at the Temperate House (the same step Kim tripped up whilst she was still on crutches)
There was however, lots of beautiful tree colour. you can see the photos here
Kim told me to pose. (this is after I picked myself up again)
I just misjudged where the step was as I turned round and fell back onto the step, on my bum..... big ouch!
anyway, I'm fine, the bruises will fade and as I say, the camera wasn't broken
Hopefully your week was less dramatic and I'll be round to check your desks soon. Happy WOYWW!
Glad you didn't do the same damage as your mate when you fell. Naughty step!
ReplyDeleteLove the trees, the colour of trees is wonderful when you get to this stage, my favourite season because of the colour.
Good work on the Master boards. - Love Magenta.

It's so easy to make a mistake and slip, I wonder if something had distracted you. Still at least you fell on something soft Lol! Take care and have a good woyww. Hugs too, Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteI’m just glad that you didn’t damage yourself as much as Kim did! Hope you’re ok cos you don’t have much padding on you! The colours on those trees is outstanding, it must be so beautiful at Kew at the moment. Hope you have fun with the C cards, I got all my stuff out then put it away again, no mojo!

I wish I could recall where I saw something about how the slightest difference in the risers of stairs can make them a serious trip hazard. All I remember is they posted a camera on a tube staircase that had one step off and it was just endless hsots of people stumbling on it! Glad you escaped serious injury. Roll on the Xmas card making! I recognize those stamps... :)
ReplyDeleteKnitting again…
Happy WOYWW.

That step seems to have a personal vendetta against humans! Lovely stamps you used... i'd keep using those too, if I had them.

I love the Christmas backgrounds, they are so pretty and I love the variety of colours you've chosen - I often forget about blue when I'm making C. cards but it is a lovely Christmassy colour. Thank goodness you didn't do yourself serious damage on that step and I'm glad you saved the camera from injury. Those autumn leaves are stunning.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,

Did you stamp those papers up? That's just amazing, they're gorgeous and looks like real scrapbooking papers!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the beautiful fall photos too!
Hope the bruises fade soon Helen. Fab master boards. Stay safe and thanks for joining in with WOYWW. Sarah
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you've been in the wars....I hope the bruises heal quickly. I'm loving the autumn colours.

I’m glad you didn’t do any damage in your fall, to yourself or the camera! Your masterboards are lovely and your autumn colours in the Kew photo are stunning. I absolutely adore the misty water lily(?) and it was fun to see all the Halloween sculptures.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Well as long as the camera suffered no harm 🤣🤣. I am glad you didn’t hurt yourself either. Beautiful autumn colours. Have a great week. Angela #11
ReplyDeleteHi there, making a concerted effort to get round EVERYONE today after my busy conference week last week. WOW the tree colours are amazing, hope the bruises are getting better and love the masterboards and no I'm not thinking Christmas yet!

Love your Christmas backgrounds! I'm feeling all inspired to pull out my stamps now and have a play.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't damage yourself too much on your fall, but OUCH! The trees are beautiful, we are having a really good colour year this year as well. Last year it rained so much the colours were dull, but this year, nice and bright! You are making me think I should get to working on my CCs as well, I like the idea of doing masterboards is a good one! Have a great week, Lindart #16
