WOYWW 686

Happy Wednesday deskers!  It's been another quiet week here, no crafting done again - but time for WOYWW  despite that.   I had to work from home all of last week due to Covid - but it was a very mild dose and I didn't really feel ill at all, luckily.

I am back at work now,  still tested positive on Sunday but got a call Monday to say go to the office as I was symptom free.  I've gone back to masks on buses and in shops though, better safe than sorry.  I was obviously getting complacent up in London playing tourist.

So, let's see what I can share this week, as I haven't got any crafting...

so some pics of some of my stamp storage  along the wall...
I've shared them before, and you can't tell that the wooden Ikea boxes which are stacked 4 high in places are double stacked in front of one another (and no, I don't use the contents of them often!)
and the "desk"  space.  journals still sat on the craft mat,  tickets from London still on the mat,  piles of ink pads and paints all over the place...

I can't even share a link to Kew as I didn't go on Saturday - whilst by then I'd isolated for 5 or 6 days, I decided to stay home
It felt so weird not getting up at 5 and heading out soon after 6.

the one good thing about working from home was not having to step outside during the 2 days of the 40 degree heat even though I was failing to stay cool working!

Thanks for stopping by and this week I will be at Kew, come sun, rain, snow, hail, whatever!

  1. Good to know that despite Covid you felt ok and it did not really bother you. How annoying though! I think we have all become rather complacent of late, now we hear so many cases again it's time to mask up and get on with it.

  5. Gosh Helen, I’m so glad you weren’t poorly, but a week of isolation would have driven me crackers! I admire your decision to stay at home at the weekend, I think there’s a moral boundary isn’t there, when the government advice seems to be do whatever you like. Also think you’re really wise to go back to mask wearing, we still do in busy places and small areas too.I have an American who had small width shelves built across her bedroom (craft rooom) wall and all of her stamps were displayed, one deep across the entire wall. She saw them all, used them all and really, the luxury of having them all out meant that she was getting far more out of them that I ever do from mine! I must ask her what she does with her clear stamps actually. They are, for me, just a pain. Hope you feel more up to some kneeling on the floor and journal page making very soon!

  6. I’m very glad that you didn’t have a very bad case of the lurgy and am glad that you’re back to normal now…well, I say normal… ;-D
That heat would have undone me completely, it was bad enough here and you had to work in it, that must have been hard. You’ll enjoy Kew with new eyes when you go back!

  7. Glad to hear you got through that bout of Covid OK. Shame you missed a Kew visit but you'll appreciate it all the more this week. It's bad enough knowing you still (can) craft on the floor but your filing system is gob smacking. That's a lotta stamps!! Happy WOYWW, love n hugs Cindyxx #15

  12. Pleased to hear you're feeling better Helen but it makes sense to protect yourself. We still wear masks in the supermarket but I've not been wearing them at the craft club and I know at least one lady didn't come last month because she had Covid but I think we just have to take care and try and live with it. At least your Covid was mild and that's all we can hope for. Take care and have very happy and creative woyww, Angela x9x

  15. Great that it was only a mild covid. We had it, very mildly a few months back. Ikea bookes are always useful, but if you can't see what they are hiding, you probably won't bother to go look see! I know I don't. Am thinking of swapping them for more clear Really useful boxes. Have a great week Stay safe and a very

  16. Hi Helen, thanks for popping by earlier! Lucky you've only had a mild case of Covid - funny how some people are more affected than others. So far, all three of us have managed to avoid it, or perhaps we just didn't realise we have had it? It's always lovely to see your enormous collection of craft supplies - and I'm afraid my craft room is beginning to look a lot like yours - the problem with the boxes is that once you put something in a box, you're unlikely to use it ever again LOL! Still, it's there if you need it! Have a lovely week and thanks again for your visit! xx zsuzsa #18

    so I am late AGAIN…
...and hopped up on painkilers so posted on the wrong post. DOH. Glad you are "over covid" but crazy they expect you in to work when still carrying it. DOH! I'd have fibbed about the wymptoms...

    Happy WOYWW

  18. Good morning, Helen
Being sick is no fun in any form. I wish I could share my air conditioning with all my friends across the pond. Our temps are finally lowering to 'normal' but the threat of rain leaves me with almost constant headaches. Take care & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #21

  19. Glad you are on the mend from Covid, I think I might have got away with it despite the 1000's at the graduation last week. So much stash - oh my word!

  21. Thanks for visiting my desk already, and glad you are over covid now. Must admit I have worn masks on transport, shops, gigs and work (if others are in) since before they were brought in (think cos my family, who are medics, are in NZ and they recommended wearing them back in the Feb before it hit us), work tells me they can still see my eyes rolling so now I need to wear sunglasses in office too :-)

ps - with you on the ikea wooden storage but looking round mine it appears most of mine are smaller thick cardboard ones!
