It's that Pink and Orange again

I was cleaning my paintbrushes yesterday; after doing my tag swaps;  in my journal, (the A5 mid sized one) and had a bit of a play later..

I just dragged the brush down the page until it ran out of colour, first the pink and then the orange

Next, I stencilled some grunge paste through the new (to me) Lin Brown leaf stencil
when that was dry I added some stamping (Stampotique French text by Papillon) in Tea Rose  and Magenta Hue archivals

The black stamping are WendyVecchi (apart from Remember which is a Clarity)

I finished with some flowers (Lin Brown) stamped and cut out on white card and painted with the pink Dylusion and a few strokes of the orange, to tie it in with the background.

Scribbled some pencil marks round the page to create a border (I remembered, Gabrielle!!) and stuck the flowers on.

As Carmen has so kindly pointed out, this is a perfect fit (with the tags and atcs in the previous post) - Pink + Pink_ Orange  for Week 2 of Summer of Colour, so I'm linking it there

  4. Great stuff, Helen! I always clean off my brushes onto scratch papers, mop up ink with kitchen roll and keep the colours co-ordinated, etc. etc. They make such great backgrounds - I use a lot of the larger ones as photographic backgrounds when I photograph my work. It's amazing how much paint you can waste in your water pot, isn't it. I lvoe the page you have made - gorgeous colour scheme and all that delicious texture! Keep up the good work.

  6. One year all my monthly calendar pages were created using mop up paint, or from where I cleaned my rubber stamps. But mine didn't look as lovely and controlled as yours.

Besides really liking the colors and the design of the spread, I also liked the way you tied the pages together with adding the line around the outside of the pages. That is one I must remember. Thanks for the inspiration.
